Background / History

Shrek Academy is regarded by many as a sanctuary, but Li Ang views it chiefly as a powerful shield against external trouble and a place to continue developing while remaining close to the Body Sect in Shrek City. He deliberately plans to conceal his second and third forms, relying publicly on his Guardian Beasts to avoid excessive attention. 71 78

The academy possesses an enormous share of the Douluo World's Soul Master resources, though its students receive only a small portion directly. Students must earn points through work or missions, reflecting Shrek's uncompromising survival-of-the-fittest culture. 79 89

Its Inner Court has particularly strict entry standards: students require a complete One-Word Battle Armor and Soul King- or Soul Emperor-level strength. Most ordinary entrants reach the Inner Court only after years of study, while Youth Class students may advance earlier. 82

Li Ang's Entry and Appointment

At the Skysea Alliance Grand Competition, Li Ang asks Wu Zhangkong to arrange an opportunity to challenge Shrek Academy students. Wu Zhangkong introduces him to Outer Court Dean Cai Yue'er, who offers admission based on victories in two matches. 78 79

Li Ang instead seeks a position as an Outer Court teacher. Cai Yue'er agrees to consider it if he defeats two challengers and then a substantially stronger adult opponent. 79 After defeating Ye Xinglan and Inner Court student Ding Xiaoling, he receives Cai Yue'er's promise of a Soul Bone and a position at the academy. 79 83 84

The Sea God Pavilion Elder Council later considers his request. Despite initial resistance from conservative elders, Yun Ming's intervention enables Li Ang to receive a three-month probationary teaching period. 86 87

Li Ang's Teaching Career

Li Ang's elective, Soul Spirit Training Theory, becomes popular for its practical methods of improving Soul Spirit cultivation and combat power. At one credit per class, the course rises on Shrek's Useful Course Ranking List over two years. 87

After establishing himself as an instructor, Li Ang becomes the first-year homeroom teacher. His first assessment pits the entire class against his Little Black Dog; he appoints Gu Yue as class monitor and Na'er and Xu Xiaoyan as vice-monitors according to their performance. 88 89

Li Ang later proposes replacing a field combat exercise with a comprehensive competition against the Spirit Pagoda's Spirit Academy. Cai Yue'er considers the proposal beneficial to Shrek's reputation. 102

Previous-Era Academy

After traveling ten thousand years into the past, Li Ang enrolls in the previous era's Shrek Academy using a stolen recommendation letter and suppressed Soul Power. He alters Huo Yuhao's dormitory assignment, captures Wang Dong, and plans to infiltrate the Sea God Pavilion. 90 91

The previous-era Sea God Pavilion differs greatly from its later counterpart. Its fourth floor contains medicinal herbs rather than the Spirit Bones Li Ang expected, and its protections alert elder Xuan Zi when Li Ang removes a Spirit Bone. 92
