Background / History

Kurotsuchi is the granddaughter of the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, and the daughter of Akatsuchi. During a Five Kage gathering, she and her father acted on Ōnoki's signal to attack Uchiha Mingyou after he provoked Ōnoki. Kurotsuchi used Lava Release: Quicklime Congealing Technique while Akatsuchi employed Earth Release: Earth Fissure; Mingyou evaded both techniques with Kamui. She then attempted to attack him in close combat, but was easily repelled. 34

She later accompanied Akatsuchi as a Land of Earth envoy to the Fourth Raikage's personal-guard base. There, she spoke candidly of Ōnoki's admiration for the Raikage's aggressive expansion into smaller nations, revealing the developing political alignment between the Lands of Earth and Lightning. 121

Mingyou abducted Kurotsuchi from her room to create discord between the two nations. He confined her in the Crystal World within his Kamui Dimension, where she could not access chakra or ninjutsu. Her disappearance prompted Akatsuchi to demand action from the Fourth Raikage and ultimately return to the Land of Earth to report the incident. 123 125

During captivity, Kurotsuchi repeatedly resisted Mingyou, attempted to bargain for her release, and attacked him whenever opportunities arose.
