Background

Hashirama was Konoha’s First Hokage and the shinobi remembered as the God of Shinobi. Before his death, he left the village a scroll containing sealed Wood Release chakra and ninjutsu for use in a catastrophic emergency. He also hid his Sage Body in Shikkotsu Forest under Sage Katsuyu’s protection, intending to prevent later generations from exploiting it. 158 185

Sarutobi Hiruzen’s clone later summoned Hashirama and Tobirama through an incomplete Impure World Reincarnation during Konoha’s near-destruction. Hashirama immediately recognized the scale of the crisis, broke free of the clone’s control, and pledged to defend the village. 162 163

Hashirama is compassionate, direct, and deeply protective of Konoha. He repeatedly attempts negotiation before escalating to violence, including with Pain, Natsume, and Madara. When forced to choose between defeating an enemy and saving civilians, he consistently chooses the latter. 164 167 284
