Background / History

Kaguya was once a princess of the Ōtsutsuki Main Family. After her faction lost a struggle for the throne, she became Branch Family royalty. The Main Family’s leadership later paired her with Isshiki on a Divine Tree mission while plotting to sacrifice her 434 443. She ambushed Isshiki, took a Chakra Fruit, and remained on Earth, knowing the Main Family would hunt her for it. She prepared to resist them for her own sake and that of her two children, Hagoromo and Hamura 386 387.

Hagoromo and Hamura sealed her within the moon for over a thousand years. Madara’s Divine Tree gradually absorbed the seal’s chakra, allowing her to escape. Still far below her peak, she absorbed the tree and sought the powerful chakra she sensed on Earth. Before leaving the moon, she extracted Toneri’s memories to learn what had happened during her imprisonment 366.

Appearance

Kaguya has delicate features and extraordinarily long blue-white hair, and wears a white robe or dress 366 488.

Personality

Kaguya is proud and unwilling to submit, but her fear of the Ōtsutsuki Main Family runs deep. She initially rushes into battle to reclaim chakra, then recognizes that impatience and limited combat experience have left her at a disadvantage against Madara and Hashirama 373 380 390. Her treatment of Toneri shows some fondness for Hamura’s descendants, though she still takes his memories without permission 366.

Captivity makes her cautious around Natsume, but their shared need to survive the Main Family gives her reason to cooperate. On returning to her family’s realm, she refuses to yield to her younger sister Xingye despite the threat to her life 396 442.
