Background / History

Sengoku belonged to the same generation as Garp and Zephyr, with all three once competing against one another. After Zephyr withdrew from that competition following the murder of his family by pirates, Sengoku became Fleet Admiral through his strength and intelligence. 576

As Fleet Admiral, Sengoku initially had no record or memory of Uchiha Qin Yu when Magellan reported the prisoner at Impel Down. Qin Yu's later attack on a Heavenly Tribute vessel forced Sengoku to recognize him as a major threat to Marine Headquarters. 453 476

Personality

Sengoku is a disciplined commander who prioritizes Marine Headquarters' survival and the broader balance of power. He evaluates threats methodically, such as considering whether Qin Yu had concealed his strength or learned advanced Armament Haki in only days. 476

His responsibility can conflict with his personal attachments. Although he allowed Qin Yu to escape because of their past friendship, he later declared that their next meeting would be as enemies. 1012
