Background / History

Tang San cultivated independently from childhood, displaying abilities unusual enough that his father, Tang Hao, initially suspected he was not his biological son. Tang Hao neglected him until Tang San awakened both Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer; the latter confirmed Tang San's bloodline to him. 10

At Nuoding Academy, Tang San cultivated alongside Xiao Wu and became Yu Xiaogang's disciple. When soul beasts vanished across the continent, he immediately recognized that his Twin Martial Souls would eventually require soul rings he could no longer obtain. He nevertheless tried to comfort Yu Xiaogang as the latter's soul-beast-based theories collapsed. 2 7 9 13 14

Yu Xiaogang's decision to research Self-Condensed Soul Rings restored Tang San's hope. He accompanied his teacher to Martial Soul Hall and its Creation Institute, where he continued cultivating while the institute investigated a replacement for conventional rings. 15 16 20 27

Tang San had previously declined an invitation from the Nuoding City Martial Soul Hall branch because he had already become Yu Xiaogang's disciple. When his teacher received the research invitation, however, he welcomed the opportunity and praised Martial Soul Hall as a sacred ground for soul masters, unaware of its conflict with Tang Hao. 21

Tang San reached level 20 in less than a year, but the lack of a soul ring trapped him at that level for a decade. His confidence suffered when Su Mo publicly revealed the completed Ring Condensation Technique, particularly after Tang San realized Su Mo had turned knowledge Tang San once considered distinctive into a world-changing method. 37 54 58

He initially attempted to develop a personal alternative with Yu Xiaogang, testing the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Hunyuan Mental Method, and other internal-energy approaches. Directly following Su Mo's soul-power route caused a cultivation deviation, yet Tang San ultimately used Su Mo's technique to condense a ring and enter the Soul Grandmaster realm. 65 66 87

The internal-energy circulation foundational to Su Mo's technique had indirectly originated with Tang San: Tang San had taught Xiao Wu several Internal Energy Methods at Nuoding Academy, and Su Mo apparently acquired the relevant method through her. Tang San disclosed this to Yu Xiaogang out of guilt and a desire to ease his teacher's disappointment over the Creation Institute's failure. 64

After leaving the Creation Institute, Tang San and Yu Xiaogang sought admission to several academies. Although the schools were impressed by Tang San's Self-Created Soul Skills, each refused him when he would not teach those techniques to teammates. He eventually joined the Barak Kingdom team with Yu Xiaogang after agreeing to share non-core techniques with its members. 110 125 126

During the Continental Elite Tournament, Tang San supplied the Barak Team with technique-based Self-Created Soul Skills adapted from martial arts of his previous life. The team's results brought him considerable recognition, though Tang San privately understood that his universal techniques were fundamentally different from Su Mo's martial-soul-tailored combat systems. 126 128 129

Tang San deliberately allowed Yu Xiaogang to receive much of the public credit for the team's techniques. He wanted to support his teacher's reputation, remain less conspicuous, and avoid unfavorable comparisons with Su Mo without revealing the Tang Sect's core inheritance. 128

Tang San's defeat by Shui Bing'er forced him to reconsider the limits of Blue Silver Grass and seek earlier cultivation of his Clear Sky Hammer. Soon afterward, Yu Xiaogang revealed that Tang San was a direct descendant of the Clear Sky Sect and that Tang Hao was the famed Clear Sky Douluo. Tang San also learned that Blue Silver Grass came from his deceased mother, Ah Yin, who was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor. 131 132 133 163

Following these revelations, Tang San decided to seek out Tang Hao after the tournament and rebuild the Tang Sect in this world. Yu Xiaogang accepted Tang San's invitation to join the sect and assist in its development. Tang San was unaware that Tang Hao had already been killed by Su Mo. 91 135

After opening the Tang Sect in Balak City, Tang San began accepting disciples and teaching them foundational arts like the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track. However, expanding too quickly and failing to maintain secrecy led to disciples being abducted and techniques being extracted by hostile forces, including the Lower Four Sects. 159 164

The sect initially accepted 37 disciples. Tang San and Yu Xiaogang established rules forbidding betrayal of one's master, bullying the weak, and passing techniques to outsiders, with secrecy treated as especially important. These rules nevertheless lacked the enforcement provided by Su Mo Academy's Secrecy Contract Soul Skill. 159 164 166

Before the Lower Four Sects' assault, the Clear Sky Sect's Seventh Elder, Tang Lie, demanded that Tang San dissolve his sect within three days. Tang San's disclosure that he was Tang Hao's son only intensified the hostility, as Tang Lie called his father a traitor and sect criminal. Tang San refused to accept the Clear Sky Sect's authority over him. With Yu Xiaogang, Flender, and Liu Erlong shielding him through the Golden Sacred Dragon, and Zhao Wuji and the other Shrek teachers defeating Tang Lie's stewards, the Tang Sect survived the confrontation. 159 160 161 162

Tang Yuehua subsequently confirmed her identity as Tang San's aunt and explained Ah Yin's sacrifice. Tang San withheld the details of Tang Hao's mistreatment when describing his childhood to her. She promised to investigate Tang Hao's whereabouts and protect Tang San from further Clear Sky Sect interference. 163 164

When the Elephant Armor Sect, Wind Sword Sect, Fire Leopard Sect, and White Tiger Sect launched an overwhelming assault on the Tang Sect led by multiple Titled Douluo, Tang San realized the catastrophic consequences of his haste. Refusing to allow the sect's remaining secrets to be plundered, he detonated his ultimate creation, the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, destroying the Tang Sect, most of the attacking forces, and himself. Huyan Zhen survived the explosion with severe injuries. 165 166 167

Xiao Wu killed Huyan Zhen afterward to avenge Tang San, with Su Mo's approval. Both acknowledged that Tang San's earlier gifts and cultivation knowledge had benefited them. Although the Tang Sect ceased to exist, its surviving techniques and the legend of Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus continued to be discussed across the continent. 167 168 174

Previous Life and Reincarnation

Tang San's knowledge originated in a previous life in another world, where the Tang Sect specialized in hidden weapons and poisons. That world had internal-energy cultivation and martial techniques rather than martial souls and soul rings. He also studied arts belonging to other sects through the Tang Sect's Scripture Pavilion. 243 244

The Original-Work World counterpart recalled secretly learning the Tang Sect's secret techniques and jumping from a cliff to prove his resolve. When confessing his origin to Yu Xiaogang, he softened the circumstances by claiming that enemies had pursued him. He awakened afterward as a newborn in Holy Soul Village, retaining his previous life's memories. The Sky Screen later confirmed that his soul came from another world, while his body and martial souls came from Tang Hao and Ah Yin. 243 244 245

Original-Work World Counterpart

Later chapters distinguish the deceased Tang San of Su Mo's world, displayed on the Sky Screen, from a living Tang San in the Original-Work World. The latter belongs to the Shrek group and watches the alternate history rather than personally undergoing all of its events. Seeing his counterpart enter Martial Soul Hall without Xiao Wu makes him anxious about their separation; watching the alternate Xiao Wu's intimacy with Su Mo also pains him despite his awareness that she is not the Xiao Wu beside him. 184 186 215

The Sky Screen reveals Tang Hao's identity to this counterpart, causing him to question why a powerful Titled Douluo had allowed him to endure childhood neglect. Yu Xiaogang and Flender admit that they knew the truth, and Yu Xiaogang explains that Tang Hao wanted to disclose it only after Tang San became strong enough. The subsequent revelations about Ah Yin lead Tang San to recognize his plant martial soul as his mother's inheritance rather than merely ordinary Blue Silver Grass. 232 233

When the Sky Screen asks where Tang San's Self-Created Soul Skills came from, he fears that the public revelation of his reincarnation will make others treat him as a monster or capture him for study. Supported by Xiao Wu and the Shrek group, he confesses his previous life to Yu Xiaogang. At his teacher's suggestion, the others abstain from answering so that Tang San can receive the undivided reward, while he agrees to teach them Tang Sect techniques. 243 244

His answer, “From the Tang Sect in another world!”, is accepted as the sole correct response. The reward grants a Martial Soul Second Awakening, transforming his Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor, raising his soul power from level 34 to level 38, and changing his appearance. Tang Hao accepts that the reincarnated Tang San is still his and Ah Yin's son, while many spectators protest that answering a question about himself gave Tang San an unfair advantage. 244 245

The Sky Screen later resets everyone's cultivation. Tang San loses his soul power, soul rings, and accumulated attainments in the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eyes, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Mysterious Jade Hand, but retains his two martial souls and the knowledge to practice again. After the Sky Screen distributes Su Mo's Foundation Establishment Skill as compensation, he acknowledges its superior cultivation speed and reveals that his own apparent innate full soul power was not genuinely innate. 255 256

Despite this admission, Tang San chooses to rebuild using the Mysterious Heaven Skill. Its familiarity, ability to replenish soul power during combat, and necessity for activating his Tang Sect arts outweigh the alternative's faster cultivation speed in his judgment. Xiao Wu follows his choice, while Dai Mubai, Oscar, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ma Hongjun select Su Mo's method for the cultivation-ranking contest. 257 258

Personality

Tang San is highly diligent and persistent in cultivation. Even while blocked at level 20, he maintained his daily practice and trusted Yu Xiaogang to find a solution rather than pressuring him. 37

He is empathetic toward Yu Xiaogang's despair and repeatedly tries to support his teacher after the extinction of soul beasts invalidates the latter's life's work. 13 15

Tang San is also proud and strongly values forging his own path. He resists relying on Su Mo's Ring Condensation Technique, attempts to create an independent method, and remains dissatisfied even after Su Mo's technique enables his breakthrough. 58 66 87

He is intensely protective of Tang Sect inheritances and initially refused to share his Self-Created Soul Skills with academy teammates. Even after agreeing to teach selected techniques, he reserved his more important arts for Tang Sect disciples and required Oscar and Ma Hongjun to swear loyalty before accepting them. 110 129

Tang San is resilient in defeat, rapidly turning his loss to Shui Bing'er into motivation to strengthen his Clear Sky Hammer. However, his confidence is repeatedly troubled by comparisons to Su Mo and by the realization that he is far less capable of creating original cultivation methods and martial-soul-specific skills. 126 131

Toward the end of his life, his pride turned into severe remorse as he recognized his poor grasp of worldly affairs and human nature, culminating in a ruthless willingness to self-destruct alongside his enemies rather than surrender his life's work. 165 166

His attachment to Xiao Wu can lead him to mistaken assumptions. When she became withdrawn after the extinction of soul beasts, he accused Su Mo of causing her unhappiness despite her denials, prompting her to rebuke him. 14

He distinguishes his own responsibilities from his father's disputes. When Tang Lie demanded submission to the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San asserted that Tang Hao's affairs did not determine his own obligations and that he was not a member of that sect. 161

The Original-Work World counterpart displays pronounced vulnerability over his concealed identity, fearing rejection and persecution if his reincarnation becomes public. His companions' acceptance enables him to confess and reconsider the prohibition against sharing Tang Sect knowledge with outsiders. 243 244

That counterpart also shows a qualified willingness to acknowledge Su Mo's superiority: he admits that the Foundation Establishment Skill is faster and better adapted to the world's soul-master system, while maintaining that the Mysterious Heaven Skill has distinct combat advantages. 256 257 258

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. The awakening of the Clear Sky Hammer was the decisive proof that convinced Tang Hao Tang San was his son. 10

  • His two martial souls create a greater soul-ring problem after the extinction of soul beasts. 14
  • Tang Hao considered the Clear Sky Hammer evidence of Tang San's paternal bloodline. 10
  • His Blue Silver Grass is effective for restraint, battlefield control, and attacks when combined with his movement techniques. 129
  • Blue Silver Grass is vulnerable to elemental suppression, particularly ice and fire. Shui Bing'er's ice attribute immobilized both Tang San and his vines during their tournament match. 130 131
  • Tang San resolved to cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer sooner after his defeat by Shui Bing'er, recognizing that self-condensed rings removed the former advantage of delaying the second martial soul's development. 131
  • Tang San did not initially know that his second martial soul was the Clear Sky Hammer or that it identified him as a direct descendant of the Clear Sky Sect. 132
  • The Original-Work World counterpart learns that his plant martial soul carries the Blue Silver Emperor inheritance from Ah Yin. His companions connect this lineage to the unusual resilience, strength, and control of his vines. 232 233
  • His counterpart's rewarded second awakening produces thicker blue-gold vines, larger and tougher leaves, and flowing golden patterns. It also widens his meridians and strengthens the martial soul's speed and offensive potential. 245
  • The Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer both remain intact after the Original-Work World's cultivation reset, even though soul power and soul rings are removed. 255

Independent Cultivation

Tang San had cultivated on his own since childhood, without formal guidance. 10

  • He advanced from reported Innate Full Soul Power to level 20 in under a year. 37
  • He continued daily cultivation throughout his decade-long level-20 bottleneck. 37
  • He is knowledgeable about meridians and could follow Su Mo's complex circulation route without difficulty on his first attempt. 65
  • His Mysterious Heaven Skill enabled a cultivation speed far beyond what his apparent early aptitude would otherwise suggest. 6
  • He possesses multiple Internal Energy Methods, including the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Hunyuan Mental Method, Guiyuan Qi, Small Heavenly Cycle Technique, Tiger Subduing Mental Scripture, and Cloud Body Wind Form Technique. 65
  • The Mysterious Heaven Skill can be practiced before martial-soul awakening and includes meridian-tempering methods that outside sects consider exceptionally valuable. 164
  • The Original-Work World counterpart explicitly states that he did not possess genuine innate full soul power, challenging his companions' assumptions about his natural talent. 256
  • The Mysterious Heaven Skill can slowly replenish soul power during battle. The Original-Work World counterpart retains it partly because Purple Demon Eyes, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Mysterious Jade Hand require its internal force to function. 257 258
  • The counterpart judges Su Mo's Foundation Establishment Skill more refined and faster for rebuilding soul-master cultivation, but does not adopt it as his principal method. 256 257 258

Ring Condensation Experiments

Tang San studied the public Ring Condensation Technique while seeking a method he could regard as his own. 65 66

  • Tested several internal-energy methods in combination with the Soul Ring Visualization Method, without success. 65
  • Attempting Su Mo's circulation route directly caused soul power to break away from the intended meridian path, resulting in a cultivation deviation. 65
  • Eventually condensed a ring through the Su Mo Ring Condensation Technique and became a Soul Grandmaster. 87
  • The basic Internal Energy Method used in Su Mo's technique was apparently derived from methods Tang San had previously taught Xiao Wu. 64
  • The later Sky Screen presentation shows Su Mo approaching Xiao Wu specifically to obtain Tang San's cultivation methods, clarifying how Tang San's knowledge became part of Su Mo's research. 208

Self-Created Soul Skills

Tang San possesses a large repertoire of technique-based Self-Created Soul Skills. Though he publicly claims to have created them all, many are martial arts inherited from the sects of his previous life and recreated as soul skills in this world. 126

The Sky Screen later confirms that the techniques originated in his previous life rather than his own research in the Douluo world. Yu Xiaogang's contribution was to organize the material Tang San provided into a teachable system. The Original-Work World counterpart identifies Swallow Triple Water-Skimming, Vajra Arhat Fist, and Mandarin Duck Chain Kicks as arts he read in the Tang Sect's Scripture Pavilion, despite their origins in other sects. 241 243 244

  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A high-speed movement technique with rapid directional changes. It enabled Tang San to evade attacks and overwhelm weaker tournament opponents, though it was severely hampered on Shui Bing'er's frozen arena. 129 130 131
  • Mysterious Jade Hand — A close-combat hand technique that Tang San uses in conjunction with Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track. 129
  • Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — A precision-oriented technique identified by Yu Xiaogang as belonging to the same system as Tang San's other unknown arts. 133
  • Purple Demon Eyes — An ocular ability Tang San uses to observe opponents and search for openings in combat. 131
  • Swallow Triple Water-Skimming — A movement technique involving three consecutive directional changes, each borrowing force to accelerate. 128
  • Vajra Arhat Fist and Mandarin Duck Chain Kicks — Universal close-combat techniques taught to the Barak Team. 126 128
  • The Sky Screen explains that Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track stimulates the leg meridians with soul power to produce brief bursts of speed beyond the user's normal limits. 241
  • In the later Sky Screen presentation, Mysterious Jade Hand allows a Barak teammate to withstand a power-attack opponent's punch, while Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon disrupts balance and throws opponents from the ring. 241
  • The Original-Work World counterpart loses his accumulated mastery and effective use of these arts during the cultivation reset, but retains their methods and can begin practicing them anew. 255 258

Hidden Weapons

Tang San is skilled with hidden weapons and believes they can compensate for disparities in soul power. Tournament restrictions prevented him from using them against Shui Bing'er, contributing to his frustration over that defeat. 110 131

  • Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus — The supreme masterpiece of Tang San's hidden weapons, meticulously forged to rival catastrophic force. Driven by despair during the Lower Four Sects' assault, Tang San detonated it to obliterate most of the attackers, the Tang Sect, and himself; Huyan Zhen survived the initial explosion. 166 167
  • During his long cultivation bottleneck, Tang San devoted substantial effort to hidden-weapon forging. He repeatedly revised Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus until it was many times stronger than its previous-life version, intending to unveil it when the Tang Sect reached its height. He poured all his remaining soul power into its final activation. 166
  • The Original-Work World counterpart states that he remembers the Tang Sect's full hidden-weapon knowledge from his previous life. 244

Poison Knowledge

Tang San retains poison formulas and knowledge inherited from the previous-life Tang Sect, whose specialties included both poisons and hidden weapons. His unusual childhood abilities included handling the Datura Snake venom that poisoned Yu Xiaogang, which Tang Hao observed without intervening. 10 244

Relationships

  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and mentor. Tang San supports Yu Xiaogang after the loss of soul beasts destroys the foundation of his theories, then joins him at Martial Soul Hall's Creation Institute. Yu Xiaogang later leaves the institute with Tang San, helps him enter the Barak Team, reveals his Clear Sky Sect lineage, joins the Tang Sect, and ultimately dies alongside Tang San's final explosion. 13 15 20 87 110 132 135 167 In the Original-Work World, Tang San confesses his reincarnation to Yu Xiaogang, who helps him secure the sole Sky Screen reward and encourages him to share his inheritance with Shrek. 243 244
  • Tang Hao — Father and the Clear Sky Douluo. Tang Hao initially doubted Tang San's parentage because of his unusual childhood cultivation, but accepted him after seeing his Clear Sky Hammer. Tang San later learns of Tang Hao's identity and resents his years of neglect, unaware that Tang Hao was killed by Su Mo. 10 91 132 133 135 The Original-Work World Tang Hao learns the truth of his son's reincarnation from the Sky Screen and concludes that the origin of Tang San's soul does not invalidate their parent-child relationship. 242 244 245
  • Ah Yin — Mother and a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor. Her sacrifice saved Tang Hao, and Tang San inherited his plant martial soul from her. The Original-Work World counterpart later awakens the Blue Silver Emperor, deepening his recognition of that martial soul as her legacy. 163 232 233 245
  • Xiao Wu — Former academy companion and Tang San's unrequited romantic interest in the Sky Screen World. Tang San wants her to receive Martial Soul Hall's resources, but is devastated when she leaves Nuoding City with Su Mo and later sees her affection for him. Tang San had also taught her Internal Energy Methods, allowing Su Mo to indirectly obtain key knowledge for his Ring Condensation Technique. 15 21 22 57 64 She later avenges his death by killing Huyan Zhen. 167 168 In the Original-Work World, Xiao Wu reassures Tang San that his reincarnation does not change who he is to her and chooses his Mysterious Heaven Skill after the reset as a demonstration of loyalty. 244 258
  • Su Mo — Rival and the creator of the Ring Condensation Technique Tang San ultimately uses. Su Mo's achievement causes Tang San significant frustration and a crisis of confidence. Tang San recognizes that Su Mo's ability to develop martial-soul-specific Soul Skills surpasses his own talent for adapting inherited techniques. 54 58 66 87 126 After Tang San's death, Su Mo permits Xiao Wu to kill Huyan Zhen and acknowledges that Tang San's knowledge accelerated the development of his Ring Condensation Technique. 167 The Original-Work World counterpart later admits that Su Mo's Foundation Establishment Skill surpasses the Mysterious Heaven Skill in soul-master cultivation speed. 256 257 258
  • Ma Hongjun — Tang Sect disciple and Barak Team member. Tang San agreed to teach him additional skills after Ma Hongjun accepted the requirement of joining the Tang Sect and remaining loyal to it. 129 His Original-Work World counterpart supports Tang San during the threatened exposure of his secret, but chooses Su Mo's cultivation method after the reset. 243 244 258
  • Oscar — Tang Sect disciple and Barak Team member. Like Ma Hongjun, he joined the Tang Sect to receive further instruction in Tang San's techniques. 129 His Original-Work World counterpart participates in the agreement to let Tang San answer the Sky Screen alone and later selects the Foundation Establishment Skill. 244 258
  • Flender — Yu Xiaogang's longtime friend and Shrek Academy's headmaster. Flender was astonished to learn that the Barak Team's Self-Created Soul Skills came from Tang San rather than Yu Xiaogang. 126 127 He subsequently joins the Tang Sect and helps protect it by reuniting the Golden Iron Triangle, dying in its destruction. 160 161 167
  • Liu Erlong — Protector during the Tang Sect's conflicts. She joins Yu Xiaogang and Flender in using the Golden Sacred Dragon to shield Tang San from Tang Lie and later resist the Lower Four Sects, but dies during Tang San's final explosion. 161 165 167
  • Zhao Wuji — Shrek teacher and Tang Sect defender. He helps defeat Tang Lie's stewards, leads the search for missing disciples, and is severely injured by Huyan Zhen during the Lower Four Sects' assault. 161 164 166
  • Tang Yuehua — Tang San's aunt and mistress of Moonlight Pavilion. She investigates his lineage, confirms his relation to the Clear Sky Sect, and vows to protect him from the sect's hostility. 162 163 164
  • Tang Lie / Clear Sky Sect Seventh Elder — Antagonist who demands the Tang Sect's dissolution and attempts to force Tang San to return to the Clear Sky Sect to atone for supposed offenses. Tang San rejects his authority and survives the attack through his allies' intervention. 159 160 161 162
  • Huyan Zhen — Leader of the Lower Four Sects' assault. He obtains Tang Sect techniques through abducted disciples, demands the remaining inheritance, and intends to kill Tang San to prevent future retaliation. He survives Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus with grave injuries, only to be killed by Xiao Wu. 164 166 167 168
  • Shrek Seven Devils, Original-Work World — Companions who accept Tang San's reincarnation and agree to forgo the Sky Screen question so he can receive its sole reward, in exchange for his promised instruction in Tang Sect techniques. 243 244

Story Role / Major Arcs

Soul Beast Extinction

Tang San is among the young soul masters directly endangered by the disappearance of soul beasts. The crisis leaves both of his martial souls without a viable path to acquire rings and drives his teacher toward self-condensed-ring research. 7 14 15

Martial Soul Hall and the Creation Institute

Tang San follows Yu Xiaogang to Martial Soul Hall so his mentor can research Self-Condensed Soul Rings. He develops quickly to level 20 but becomes a long-term example of the cultivation bottleneck facing soul masters without rings. 20 37

Later Sky Screen chapters revisit this period for the Original-Work World audience, showing Tang San faithfully assisting Yu Xiaogang with copied documents, falling asleep at his desk, and attempting to comfort his increasingly despondent teacher. His living counterpart watches this alternate relationship and questions whether his own teacher would make similar choices. 184 185 186 187

Xiao Wu's Departure

Tang San's concern for Xiao Wu motivates him to ask that she be invited to Martial Soul Hall. She has already departed with Su Mo, however, leaving Tang San heartbroken and increasingly aware of his feelings for her. 21 22 57

The Original-Work World counterpart later watches the separation with anxiety. Xiao Wu recognizes that her identity as a transformed soul beast would have prevented her from safely following Tang San into a Martial Soul Hall stronghold. 184

Ring Condensation Breakthrough

After Su Mo discloses his technique, Tang San tries and fails to create a separate method with Yu Xiaogang. He eventually accepts Su Mo's technique to overcome his decade-long bottleneck, though doing so conflicts with his desire for personal achievement. 65 66 87

Barak Team and Self-Created Soul Skills

Unable to gain academy admission while withholding his techniques, Tang San ultimately joins the Barak Team and teaches its members selected universal Self-Created Soul Skills. The team's tournament performance raises Tang San's profile, while Yu Xiaogang publicly acknowledges that the skills originated with his disciple. 110 125 126 129

The later Sky Screen presentation emphasizes Yu Xiaogang's organization of Tang San's inherited techniques into a team-wide combat system. It depicts the Barak Team using movement, grappling, defensive hand techniques, and Blue Silver Grass control to overcome opponents whose martial souls and fusion abilities appear superior. 241

Continental Elite Tournament

Tang San serves as the Barak Team's captain and demonstrates exceptional control of Blue Silver Grass, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Mysterious Jade Hand. He sweeps multiple opposing teams alone, but loses decisively to Shui Bing'er when her ice attribute neutralizes his mobility and plant martial soul. 125 129 130 131

The initial tournament account shows the Barak Team losing to the Star Luo Team in the fourth round. Tang San refrains from revealing his second martial soul after his teammates are rapidly defeated. A later Sky Screen retelling instead depicts the Barak Team defeating Star Luo by disrupting the five Clear Sky Sect disciples' coordination and outlasting the Hell White Tiger; this presentation differs from the earlier account. 132 241

Clear Sky Lineage and Second Martial Soul

After encountering Clear Sky Sect disciples in the tournament, Tang San learns that his second martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer and that Tang Hao is the Clear Sky Douluo. The revelation reframes Tang San's childhood neglect and prompts him to reconsider both his father's motives and the origins of his own techniques. 132 133

Rebuilding and Destruction of the Tang Sect

Tang San accepts Ma Hongjun and Oscar into the Tang Sect, opens its doors in Balak City, and begins accepting disciples. However, rapid expansion without adequate secrecy leads to abductions and extortion by the Lower Four Sects. Overwhelmed by Titled Douluo and filled with remorse, Tang San detonates the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, ending his life and destroying the sect alongside most of his attackers. 129 159 164 165 166 167

Before this final disaster, he successfully resists Tang Lie's attempt to dissolve the sect with help from the Golden Iron Triangle and the former Shrek teachers. Tang Yuehua then offers familial support and secures a temporary reprieve from Clear Sky Sect hostility, but this does not protect him against the independent alliance hunting his techniques. 160 161 162 163 164

Huyan Zhen's survival does not spare him retaliation: Xiao Wu kills him in Tang San's name. News of the Tang Sect's destruction spreads widely, and the loss of Yu Xiaogang provokes Bibi Dong's violent reaction. Tang San's techniques and the legend of his final hidden weapon remain part of the continent's memory. 167 168 174

Sky Screen Exposure and Second Awakening

In the Original-Work World, the Sky Screen's question about the source of Tang San's techniques forces him to confront the exposure of his reincarnation. He confesses to his companions, receives their acceptance, and agrees to share the Tang Sect's inheritance with them. His correct answer earns the sole reward: the second awakening of his Blue Silver Emperor and an increase to level 38. 243 244 245

The public revelation resolves Tang Hao's longstanding suspicion about his son's unexplained knowledge. It also distinguishes Tang San's inherited martial arts from Su Mo's independently researched skills, while the reward sparks accusations that the Sky Screen unfairly favored him. 242 244 245

Cultivation Reset and Ranking Contest

Following the Sky Screen's cultivation reset, the Original-Work World counterpart must rebuild both his soul power and the practical attainments of his Tang Sect arts. He receives the publicly distributed Foundation Establishment Skill, acknowledges its superiority in cultivation speed, and admits that he was not naturally born with innate full soul power. 255 256

He nevertheless retains the Mysterious Heaven Skill because of its combat recovery, his extensive familiarity with it, and its role in activating his other techniques. Xiao Wu joins him in that choice, whereas several companions adopt Su Mo's method as daily cultivation rankings approach. 257 258

Trivia

  • Tang San's rapid advance to level 20 was described as genius-level speed even across the soul master world. 37
  • His first attempt at Su Mo's soul-power circulation route went wrong despite his expertise with meridians. 65
  • Tang San's techniques differ fundamentally from the Clear Sky Sect's broad, forceful hammer arts, which helped Yu Xiaogang realize they could not have originated from Tang Hao or the sect's inheritance. 133
  • Although Tang San publicly takes credit for the Barak Team's Self-Created Soul Skills, he privately recognizes that he is better at recreating inherited martial arts than creating wholly original methods. 126
  • He completely obliterates his own sect and allies using a self-crafted hidden weapon out of despair and guilt; Huyan Zhen survives the explosion but is subsequently killed by Xiao Wu. 167 168
  • The techniques he left behind and the legend of Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus continue to be mentioned after his death. 174
  • The Original-Work World counterpart is the sole correct respondent to the Sky Screen question about the origin of his own techniques. 244
  • His counterpart's Blue Silver Emperor awakening changes his hair to long blue hair and markedly alters his facial appearance, surprising companions who watched the transformation. 245
  • Tang Hao regards the second-awakening reward as unnecessary because Ah Yin had told him that Tang San could eventually awaken the Blue Silver Emperor on his own. 245
  • The cultivation reset removes the Original-Work World counterpart's attained power rather than his memory of the techniques: he can still practice the Mysterious Heaven Skill, but must rebuild its former results. 255
  • Despite being widely regarded as an innate-full-soul-power genius, his Original-Work World counterpart explicitly denies that this was his genuine innate condition. 256
