After seeing that Eight Gates had reached max level, Lin Fan finally smiled with satisfaction.
His face was deathly pale, and his forehead was covered in glistening beads of sweat.
Lin Fan had thought that, since he had already maxed out Konoha Style Taijutsu, mastering Eight Gates would be easy.
But he hadn't expected that, as one of the forbidden techniques, Eight Gates would be far more difficult to master than ordinary Taijutsu.
Just using chakra to push the first of the Eight Gates, the Gate of Life, to its limit had already made Lin Fan feel as though his head were being hacked apart by knives and axes.
The intense pain persisted through eight attempts over several hours. Each time he pushed himself, the pain nearly made him pass out.
At last, on the ninth attempt, Lin Fan broke through the shackles of the Gate of Opening, and his mind suddenly opened up.
He couldn't imagine how much pain Might Guy had endured while training to break through the limits of all eight gates in his body.
But that was none of his concern. He didn't want to experience that kind of pain again.
Lin Fan respected Guy's hard work and strength, but in the Naruto World, he still intended to use every cheat available to him.
After successfully maxing out Eight Gates, Lin Fan turned his attention to the Flying Thunder God Technique.
But when he examined the Polaroid photo documenting the technique, he couldn't help but sneer.
It turned out the photo's record of the Flying Thunder God Technique was incomplete.
Lin Fan then carefully looked through the photos of the other forbidden techniques.
All four were missing important formulas or Hand Seals.
There was no way he could even learn the basics.

Lin Fan complained with a dark expression.

Could two legendary figures from Konoha really have left behind something so valuable?

It had to contain all the techniques the two of them had mastered throughout their lives.
Lin Fan was instantly excited.
And the rewards for completing this guidance mission were three of Tobirama's most prized Water Release techniques.
Looks like I'll have to pay the Senju Compound a visit tomorrow.
Murmuring to himself, Lin Fan climbed into bed, closed his eyes with a smile, and fell fast asleep.
Though Team 7 had no mission the next day, Lin Fan still got up early.
After washing up, he went out and knocked on Naruto's door, but there was no answer.
He'd probably gone to look for Sakura again.
Lin Fan didn't think much of it. He went home, made himself a bowl of instant noodles, ate, and then headed out toward the forest.
He'd promised to train with Rock Lee, but still hadn't followed through. Since he was free today, he might as well go see him.
When Lin Fan reached the forest, he didn't see Rock Lee. Instead, he heard Guy's passionate shouts coming from the middle of the training ground.
"Yoshi! Once we've done these 100 sit-ups, it's 100 push-ups, 100 squats, and finally a 10-kilometer cross-country run. Then our training will be over!
"Let's sweat beneath the rising sun and set the flames of our youth ablaze!"
Lin Fan then saw Naruto and Sasuke sitting opposite each other beside Guy, grimacing as they did sit-ups.
Naruto was also wearing the same emerald-green, skin-tight training suit as Might Guy and Rock Lee.
He looked pretty ridiculous.
So this must be the reward for coming in first yesterday.
Naruto had clearly been taken in by the training buff of Guy's tight suit.
And Guy's training regimen sounded strangely familiar to Lin Fan, as though he'd heard it somewhere in his previous life.
It didn't take long for him to remember.
Wasn't this Teacher Saitama's training regimen?
If Rock Lee, Neji, and Tenten followed Guy's routine and kept it up long-term, wouldn't they all end up bald?
I became bald, and I became strong?
Did that mean the members of Team 3 would all be wearing wigs in the original story?
Lin Fan couldn't help laughing at the thought.
"Yoshi! Lin Fan's here too. Team 7, let's start training together!"
Seeing that Lin Fan's injuries had completely healed, Guy shouted excitedly, his eyes blazing.
Lin Fan readily agreed and joined Naruto and Sasuke's sit-up army.
"Lin Fan, would you like to change into a tight suit like Naruto's? It'll give you a whole new training experience!"
Guy floated over to Lin Fan and whispered.
"Teacher Guy, I'll pass on the tight suit. Some of my injuries haven't quite healed yet, and wearing it might aggravate them."
Lin Fan casually made up an excuse.
In truth, his injuries had healed long ago.
He didn't wear the tight suit because certain parts of him were too prominent. It might make Emperor Guy, whose were only the size of tiny acorns, feel inferior.
Lin Fan then started doing sit-ups too, and soon caught up with Sasuke and Naruto.
Sasuke and Naruto had always kept Lin Fan's strength in mind.
Seeing how strong Lin Fan was, and how hard he still trained, only made them more motivated.
The three of them pushed each other, and soon finished Guy's training routine.
By the time they were done, it was already noon.
"Yoshi! You three did great. I hope you can keep it up under Kakashi's guidance from now on, too!
"Hahaha! Let's all keep working hard and let the fire of our youth burn without regret!"
After laughing, Guy disappeared right before their eyes.
Once their training was over, Sasuke and Naruto collapsed onto the ground.
They were both exhausted, but neither complained.
They even agreed to come back and train together after lunch.
Watching the two, Lin Fan smiled and nodded.
Those two were getting close pretty quickly.
After lunch and a short rest, Lin Fan headed straight to the Senju Compound.
In a dilapidated manor at the edge of Konoha.
The huge plaque bearing the words "Senju of the Forest" above its entrance was thick with dust and covered in cobwebs.
Back in the day, the Senju Clan had produced two figures worthy of being recorded in the history of the Shinobi World: Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju.
Together, they had led their clan to end the Warring States period, found Konoha, and divide the Tailed Beasts.
What glory they had enjoyed!
Yet only a few decades had passed, and now Tsunade was the sole pure-blooded Senju still around, wandering the world.
Lin Fan figured that, starting with Hashirama Senju, the Senju Clan had intermarried with Konoha's other clans to preserve peace and stability in the village.
Over time, the Senju Clan's powerful bloodline had been diluted, and its members had grown more and more ordinary.
On top of that, years of war had decimated the clan's population, until it gradually faded from people's memories.
And to this day, no one had inherited the lifetime's worth of knowledge of Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju.
The thought left Lin Fan sighing with regret.
