Background / History
Lu Ya arrived at the Bamboo Spring Sect and met Ning Zhongzi at Sword Terrace. His divine sense briefly encountered the sect master, whose sword intent pierced his dantian. 4
After the Black Lotus attacked Bamboo Spring Sect, Lu Ya pursued the fleeing Yunzhongzi across hundreds of miles, killed him, and stabilized the critically injured Liu Xuanye. His intervention saved the sect and established his position as its decisive protector. 9
He later chose Hot Spring Valley as his residence and helped establish Azure Phoenix City. Although he claimed to simply act according to circumstance, his arrangements drew refugees, merchants, and immortals, turning the formerly declining Bamboo Spring Sect territory into a thriving city. 10 35
Lu Ya eventually revealed that he was a 21-year-old transmigrator from another world. He stated that he was not human in the conventional sense. 229
Personality
Lu Ya is laid-back, opportunistic, and easily bored. He calls his improvised approach to planning “go with the flow,” preferring to exploit opportunities as they arise rather than pursue rigid schemes. 35
Despite his casual manner, he is highly perceptive and strategic. He recognizes unusual physiques, sees through political posturing, and uses stronger opponents or organizations as resources for Azure Phoenix City. 60 64 172
His morality is inconsistent: he can show mercy, protect civilians, and spare defeated enemies, but can also kill on impulse or treat major conflicts as entertainment. Liancheng Zi characterizes this as Lu Ya treating others like “straw dogs” when it suits his amusement. 191 256
Appearance
Lu Ya is described as a youth with sharp, handsome features. 46
- Usually conceals any detectable spiritual-pressure fluctuation. 46
- Can appear so ordinary that even Li Wuxie initially perceived him as possessing a mortal temperament. 46
- Has a life-sized doll made in his likeness by Ban Yue. 263

- Uses it as both restraint and a way for others to study a more advanced divine-path technique. 237
