Ning Zhongzi served the Bamboo Spring Sect as its Discipline and Pill Elder, overseeing discipline while specializing in pills, healing, and medicine canons. She guided Lu Ya upon his arrival at the sect, disciplined the Muyu sisters for their misconduct, and warned Lu Ya about the Sect Master’s formidable sword intent 4.

She was deeply devoted to Liu Xuanye and the Bamboo Spring Sect. During Black Lotus’s assault, she supported Liu Xuanye with self-developed medicines and attempted to shield her from Yunzhongzi’s Lotus Pattern Sword, sacrificing herself in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the attack 7 8. Afterward, she treated Liu Xuanye’s injuries at Hot Spring Valley and helped arrange Lu Ya’s stay there 10.

As the sect faced decline, Ning Zhongzi became a principal organizer of its recovery.
