"Na'er, I asked you here today because Mingxiao has something he wants to say to you. You two talk. I'll excuse myself first."
Yu Yuanzhen smiled and turned to leave the reception hall.
Yu Mingxiao took a deep breath and said softly, "Na'er, let's talk somewhere else."
Na'er nodded and followed him out of the Sect Master Mansion.
Once they reached a deserted place, Yu Mingxiao said in a low voice, "You came here for the Dragon-Slaying Blade, didn't you?"
"What is the Dragon-Slaying Blade?" Na'er asked, her face full of confusion.
Yu Mingxiao frowned. She's the Silver Dragon King. How could she possibly not know about the Dragon-Slaying Blade? What does that mean?
Suppressing his thoughts, Yu Mingxiao got straight to the point. "Should I call you Na'er, or the Silver Dragon King?"
"I'm Na'er. Who is the Silver Dragon King? She feels... a little familiar?" Na'er suddenly clutched her head and closed her eyes, pain appearing on her face.
"Amnesia?" Yu Mingxiao's expression turned strange.
He had originally planned to hand over the Dragon-Slaying Blade himself. No matter how precious a divine artifact was, it could not compare to his own life.
If this divine artifact was lost, he could always find another one. But he only had one life, and no one could bring him back from the dead.
Now, it seemed there might still be a turn for the better?
After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Are you okay?"
Hearing his comfort, Na'er's pain eased slightly. She lowered her head a little and said softly, "I'm sorry."
"You don't need to apologize." Yu Mingxiao looked deeply at her and asked, "Do you know who your father and mother are?"
Na'er shook her head.
Had she really lost her memory? Was it an accident, or had she been affected by some unknown force...
Yu Mingxiao's thoughts sank slightly as he said gently, "Na'er, since you've joined the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, we're family from now on. If anything happens, you can come to me."
"Is your house big? Can I live with you?" Na'er asked quietly. After saying it, she seemed to realize the ambiguity of her words and hurriedly lowered her head.
What was this young Silver Dragon King trying to do? Could some kind of aura on me be attracting her?
Yu Mingxiao's imagination ran wild. After hesitating for a moment, he asked uncertainly, "You want to live with me?"
Na'er's cheeks reddened slightly. She lowered her head even further and could not say a word.
Yu Mingxiao fell silent for a moment before saying, "My house has plenty of empty rooms. If you want to live at my place, you're welcome anytime."
Since this Silver Dragon King had designs on him, he would see what exactly she intended.
Keeping her by his side might not necessarily be a disaster.
"Thank you," Na'er murmured softly.
A year later.
Yu Xiaogang's courtyard.
After three days of secluded cultivation, Yu Xiaogang suddenly opened his eyes. A gleam flashed through them, and just as he retracted his aura, an ill-timed loud fart suddenly exploded, like celebratory fireworks going off.
"I, Yu Xiaogang, have finally broken through to level ten! Hahahaha!"
Yu Xiaogang laughed wildly, his smile twisted and manic, carrying an almost pathological obsession.
The two guards at the door exchanged glances, a concealed look of contempt flashing through their eyes.
What the hell was he so excited about? Four years had passed, and after consuming a pile of resources, he had only barely broken through to level ten.
Yu Xiaogang was completely unaware of this and was instead immensely pleased with himself.
Seeing that the two guards had still not broken through to Soul Ancestor, he secretly felt even more smug. Yet he never considered that they spent half their time monitoring him and urging him to cultivate, leaving them little time for cultivation themselves.
Even so, the two of them were already very close to the Soul Ancestor realm.
He suddenly pushed open the door, his nostrils raised toward the sky and his face full of arrogance. "I'm going to see Father. Guard the door properly."
With a disdainful sneer, Yu Xiaogang never once looked at the two guards as he strode toward Yu Yuanzhen's residence.
As soon as he reached the courtyard gate and was about to enter, he was stopped by the guards outside. "Young Master Xiaogang, what are you doing?"
"I've broken through to level ten. I want to see Father. Move aside," Yu Xiaogang said with a dark expression.
Two years ago, he had personally watched his elder brother Yu Mingxiao enter the Sect Master Mansion amid the respectful greetings of the guards. Yet he, Yu Xiaogang, had been stopped directly outside the gate.
A powerful sense of imbalance welled up in his heart.
"Wait here." The guard glanced at him before turning and entering the Sect Master Mansion.
Before long, Yu Yuanzhen came out and asked calmly, "You've broken through to level ten?"
"Father, quickly take me to hunt a Soul Ring. I want to become an honorable Soul Master," Yu Xiaogang said eagerly.
Yu Yuanzhen shook his head and said softly, "Go back and wait for a day first. I still have some matters to handle. You can also use this time to stabilize your Soul Power. It'll do you good."
"No! Father, I've cultivated bitterly for four years. I can't wait any longer to become a Soul Master. I want to hunt a Soul Ring right now!"
Yu Xiaogang grabbed Yu Yuanzhen's wrist, his expression frenzied and his urgency nearly unrestrained.
Yu Yuanzhen frowned slightly and said in a deep voice, "Can't you even keep your temper for one day? Since that's the case, I'll have a clan elder take you to hunt a Soul Ring."
"A clan elder?"
Yu Xiaogang's expression changed slightly. The people he least wanted to see in the clan were those elders.
In his eyes, those old fossils had nothing to do all day and loved gossiping and making things up about him behind his back.
As he thought this, Yu Xiaogang's face twisted. He gave a cold snort and left quickly.
Since Father was unwilling to take him hunting for a Soul Ring, he would bring people himself.
Yu Yuanzhen did not stop him as he left. He merely sighed inwardly. "Four years of bitter cultivation, yet his abilities haven't improved while his temperament has grown more and more extreme."
As Yu Xiaogang walked down the road, he raised his chin slightly, and his entire demeanor suddenly became high-spirited.
"Once I hunt my first Soul Ring and turn my Martial Soul back into the Golden Sacred Dragon, I'll make every one of you regret it!"
Young and ignorant, he clearly had yet to recognize reality. He still harbored a blazing dream of becoming strong and had not, in his disappointment, decided to embark upon that crooked path of becoming a theoretical Grand Master.
Relying on his status as the Sect Master's younger son, Yu Xiaogang still managed to gather several outer disciples of decent strength to accompany him in hunting a Soul Ring.
Yu Xiaogang had never attracted much attention to begin with, and Yu Yuanzhen only learned of it on the second day after they set out.
"That bastard Yu Xiaogang is truly infuriating!" Yu Yuanzhen's face darkened.
"Father, what happened?" Yu Mingxiao could not help asking.
Yu Yuanzhen said, "Your younger brother secretly ran off to the Star Dou Great Forest to hunt a Soul Ring. He only brought three outer disciples at the Soul Elder realm."
"I'm a little worried, so I plan to go there myself. I'll also see what Soul Ring he absorbs, lest something go wrong."
"I think he's become increasingly obsessive these past few years. I'm afraid he'll recklessly absorb a Soul Ring."
Yu Mingxiao nodded gently but said nothing more.
He suddenly thought of Yu Xiaogang's black Pig.
He vaguely remembered that Luo Sanpao had light purple fur, but Yu Xiaogang's had dark grayish-black fur. It was clearly abnormal and was likely not a degenerated form of the Radiant Sacred Dragon.
With Yu Xiaogang's knowledge and judgment, even if he went to the Star Dou Great Forest, he might not necessarily be able to hunt a Soul Ring that met the requirements...
