Background
Morgan created Mordred through alchemy as an artificial human. Leon accepted Morgan's proposed name, while noting that this Mordred was his child and had no direct blood relation to Artoria. 22
Mordred was born safely to Leon and Morgan and was immediately invested as Crown Prince of Britain. Leon ordered a seven-day celebration and a general amnesty for her birth. 32
During Morgan's later crisis, Agravain secretly relocated Mordred for her protection. Artoria subsequently sheltered the young Crown Prince and entrusted her to Ector before entering the Spirit Tomb. 40 47 Morgan's death left Mordred distraught; Leon, unable to confront either his own grief or hers, placed her in Artoria's care. 68
Mordred grew up alongside her younger brother, Artorius. 36 Merlin and Scathach were assigned as her instructors, with Scathach leaving her extensive homework before departing on her own journey. 32 103
Appearance
As a child, Mordred closely resembled Morgan, with features that also recalled Artoria. Her appearance carries a distinctly feral edge.
- Golden hair with a coarse, naturally wild texture. 47
- Face described as ninety percent identical to Morgan's. 47
- A wildness in her brow associated with Leon's lineage. 36 47
- Prominent canine fangs visible when she speaks or smiles. 47 320
- Commonly carries a crimson greatsword or Demon Sword. 116 320
Personality
Mordred is intensely battle-oriented and openly prefers martial challenges to academic study. She was relieved when Leon's personal test required her to fight rather than complete an examination, and she left satisfied with her performance. 116
She is proud, easily angered by perceived humiliation, and willing to use ruthless methods to achieve her goals. When confronting the personnel and artificial lifeforms connected to her creation, she ordered their execution and the destruction of their base. 162 168 Her tactical judgment is nevertheless sharp: she recognized flaws in Agravain's attempt to conceal dissent among allied Servants and acted decisively when a crisis demanded troop deployment. 156 332
Despite her aggression, Mordred has strong attachments to her family and homeland. She grieved deeply for Morgan, worried upon seeing Leon battle-worn, and felt a profound sense of belonging upon returning to Britain after a long campaign. 68 141 167
