Woo--woo--!
A piercing alarm sounded instantly. Several security robots flashed red lights, sliding out from the corners to surround Goku, their cold gun barrels aimed directly at him.
Goku was startled and immediately assumed a fighting stance.
The red lights in the robots' eyes scanned Goku a few times. Once their database confirmed his identity on the whitelist, the alarm stopped immediately.
They emitted a mechanical "Identification Passed" voice, retracted their weapons one after another, and slid back to their original positions to stand by.
"What was that all about..."
Goku breathed a sigh of relief, scratched his head, and looked confused.
He strode into the main house, calling out as he walked:
"Bulma! Vitelli! Are you guys here?"
The living room, the dining room, the kitchen... aside from a bunch of robots busy organizing things, there wasn't a soul to be seen.
"Nobody's home..."
Goku felt a bit disappointed, but when he wandered into the backyard, his eyes suddenly lit up.
There, in the open space of the backyard, stood a massive, silver-white metal structure with a sci-fi design that hadn't been there before, the logo of Capsule Corp printed on the door.
"Wow! Is this Vitelli's new Gravity Chamber?"
Goku's curiosity was instantly ignited, and he temporarily forgot about looking for people.
He rubbed his hands together excitedly and pressed the switch on the door.
Hiss--!
The airtight door slid open slowly, revealing a spacious, high-tech training space inside.
"Hehe, let me give it a try!"
Goku slipped inside in a flash, and the airtight door closed slowly behind him.
Soon, a low, powerful hum echoed through the massive Gravity Chamber as it started up, signaling that another grueling training session—this time with a different person—was about to begin.
Almost at the same moment Goku slipped into the Gravity Chamber, they arrived at the God of Destruction Realm, countless light-years away.
The colorful streamers of light dissipated, and the figures of Vitelli, Bulma, Beerus, and Whis appeared on that familiar and peculiar land.
The air was filled with a rich, fragrant aroma, and the silhouette of the God of Destruction Palace in the distance looked magnificent under the strange sky.
"Wow--!"
This was Bulma's first time truly setting foot on an alien planet, and she was immediately captivated by the strange scenery around her.
Plants emitting a soft halo, small animals that looked strange yet docile, the soil beneath her feet that seemed to contain some kind of energy, and the colorful, aurora-like sky above that she had never seen before...
Everything here made her, a genius scientist, incredibly excited.
"So this is an alien planet! It's amazing! What is the principle behind these plants glowing? The atmospheric composition seems completely different from Earth's, too! And that animal, its biological structure..."
Bulma's eyes shone, and she couldn't wait to take out her instruments and start researching.
Beerus had been complaining to Whis:
"Whis, have you slowed down lately? I remember it used to take you one minute and forty-five seconds to fly the same distance, but this time it took nearly two minutes! While I was sleeping, have you just been visiting the universe looking for gourmet food and forgetting to train?"
But upon hearing Bulma's exclamation, he immediately turned his head, lifted his chin slightly, and looked at her with a condescending gaze:
"Hey, woman! This is the God of Destruction Realm where I, Lord Beerus the God of Destruction, reside! It's not something those alien planets you talk about can compare to!"
Bulma was squatting on the ground, carefully observing a glowing plant. Hearing this, she looked up and blinked her deep blue eyes, her face filled with pure confusion:
"But isn't this just another planet in the universe outside of Earth? Doesn't that still make it an alien planet?"
"Uh..."
Beerus was choked speechless by her incredibly accurate and blunt logic, and his desire to show off vanished instantly.
He flicked his tail in frustration, feeling like he had a bit of a communication barrier with this Earth woman.
After stretching lazily, he turned to look at Vitelli.
A flash of purple light crossed his body, and his majestic God of Destruction attire instantly transformed into a comfortable set of brown pajamas; he even had a sleeping cap on.
Beerus yawned, his eyes bleary, and said:
"Mm... I get sleepy when I'm full... Since you're already an Apprentice God of Destruction, you can handle the cleanup of those useless trash planets from now on. I'm a bit full from eating, so I need to take a nap for a dozen years or so to recover my energy... Haaah--"
He yawned as he swayed toward the depths of the palace, his voice growing fainter:
"As for how to use Destruction... let Whis teach you... zzZZ..."
Before he finished his sentence, his figure vanished from the spot with a "whoosh," clearly having gone straight to his bedroom.
Whis and Vitelli looked in the direction where Beerus had disappeared, shaking their heads in unison with helpless expressions on their faces.
"That guy is truly hopeless."
Vitelli muttered under his breath.
Whis returned to his calm and breezy demeanor, smiling at Vitelli:
"So, Vitelli, do you intend to begin your new training immediately, or would you prefer to rest for a while? Personally, I suggest we start with a cup of afternoon tea."
As he spoke, an exquisite teapot and several cups appeared out of thin air in his hands.
Just then, Bulma emerged from the nearby woods, holding a small notebook and scribbling something down rapidly.
Hearing Whis, she immediately raised her hand and said enthusiastically:
"Leave the tea-making to me! I happened to bring many different varieties of high-quality tea leaves from Earth, and I've been wanting to see what kind of flavor they'd have when brewed with the water here!"
Vitelli, however, shook his head, his gaze shifting to Whis as his expression turned serious:
"Let's save the tea for later, Whis. I want to start training. When do you plan to teach me the power of Destruction?"
Although he was unhappy about the position Beerus had forced upon him, since he couldn't resist, he might as well master this power as quickly as possible.
After all, it was an incredibly formidable strength.
Whis handed the teapot to Bulma, a mysterious smile playing on his lips:
"Vitelli, actually... you have already learned it."
"Huh?!" Vitelli was stunned, his face filled with bewilderment.
"I've already learned it? When? How come I don't know about it?"
Whis set down his teacup unhurriedly and explained:
"Just now, when you asked me how to cultivate Destruction."
He looked at Vitelli's puzzled expression and continued:
"'Destruction' is not merely a form of energy; it is the manifestation of the authority of a divine office. Previously, you did not identify with the status of Apprentice God of Destruction in your heart, subconsciously rejecting it, so this authority remained closed to you, and naturally, you couldn't feel it."
"But when you took the initiative to ask how to cultivate 'Destruction,' it showed that your heart had accepted this new identity and responsibility, and you began to think about things from the perspective of an Apprentice God of Destruction. This acceptance is the key that unlocks the authority. Furthermore, the arduous training you underwent in the other dimension has already allowed your body and spirit to accumulate sufficient divine power; all that was lacking was guidance and clear recognition."
Whis tapped Vitelli on the chest and added:
"Now, what you need to do is not learn specific techniques, but to constantly perceive and temper your heart, so that your will and your resolve are truly worthy of this power of 'Destruction.' When your heart and mind are perfectly in sync with the God of Destruction, using 'Destruction' will be as natural as breathing."
Vitelli fell into deep thought as he listened to Whis.
I've already learned it? Make my heart worthy of this power?
He recalled the sensation he felt when facing Beerus's "Destruction" energy, and the divine power within him that was stirring, carrying the aura of finality and annihilation...
He seemed to have grasped a vague direction.
But just then, Whis interrupted his thoughts. The gentle look on his face made Vitelli feel a sense of foreboding:
"However, Vitelli~ I must remind you. You only have about three months to familiarize yourself with and master how to effectively utilize the power of the God of Destruction."
Vitelli was jolted out of his contemplation, saying helplessly:
"Another task? When I was training in the God of Destruction Realm, I did plenty of running errands for you!"
He remembered his time as a "courier," when Whis would use his angel abilities to toss him into random corners of the universe, only to demand he use Instant Transmission to return on his own.
Whis shook his head, his tone remaining gentle, but the content made Vitelli's scalp tingle:
"Don't worry, Vitelli. This time, it's not about running errands or finding people. It's just that before Lord Beerus fell into his current slumber, he hadn't handled official business for quite some time. The list of planets in Universe 7 that require 'Destruction' has accumulated... well, it's not exactly short."
He extended a slender finger and tapped the void, instantly generating an intangible list.
"Since Lord Beerus has handed this responsibility over to you, and he has gone to sleep, these tasks naturally need to be handled by you."
"Three months from now, if you still cannot skillfully master Destruction and begin executing your missions, I'm afraid the overall evaluation of our Universe 7... will drop again. It won't be easy to explain to Grand Zeno."
Vitelli's eyes widened instantly, unable to believe his ears:
"Are you kidding me?! I'm an Apprentice God of Destruction! And I haven't even been on the job for an hour! I haven't even passed my probation period! You want me to start working already? Isn't that a bit ridiculous?!"
Whis smiled and comforted him:
"There, there~ Relax, Vitelli. It's not like you have to go right this second. Don't you still have three months to prepare and practice? I believe that with your talent, you will have no problems at all."
Vitelli looked at Whis's "I believe in you" expression, then at the mountain of planets awaiting destruction, and could only sigh toward the sky, his face a mask of despair.
"Ugh—! I knew it! This whole Apprentice God of Destruction thing is a total trap!"
Watching her boyfriend's miserable and helpless expression, Bulma couldn't help but burst into a giggle.
She stepped forward and gave Vitelli a supportive pat on the back:
"Good luck, honey! For the sake of our universe's ranking and prosperity, work hard!"
Her tone was filled with the excitement of someone watching a show and absolute trust in him.
Vitelli looked at his wife's radiant smile, then at Whis, who was elegantly sipping tea while secretly being a master of schemes, and finally thought of the actual God of Destruction, who was currently fast asleep and had dumped all his messes onto him...
He took a deep, deep breath of the air in the God of Destruction Realm—fragrant, yet feeling incredibly heavy.
The life of an Apprentice God of Destruction, it seemed, was far more boring than he had imagined!
Vados Visits, As Expected of Bulma!
Vitelli stood silently on a lonely peak, the sunset spilling like molten gold over the rugged mountains of the God of Destruction Realm.
He had changed back into his old black silk combat suit, which was now bathed in a warm orange glow under the sunlight.
Vitelli gazed at the massive orange star, radiating warmth as it slowly sank toward the distant horizon, painting the entire sky in a magnificent crimson.
However, night in the God of Destruction Realm did not arrive as expected.
Just as the skyline was about to be swallowed by the deep darkness of the cosmos, another younger, more vibrant white star rose in the east.
Its cold yet searing light filled the void in the sky just in time, keeping this world bathed in eternal radiance.
Only the hue and temperature of the light had shifted quietly and unconsciously.
Vitelli's gaze followed the white star, his deep eyes catching a silver glimmer as it appeared.
He slowly raised his hands to press them together, focusing intently as he sensed the formidable power within his body.
A moment later, his joined hands began to pull apart at an agonizingly slow pace, as if bearing the weight of ten thousand tons.
As his palms separated, a dark purple speck of light, radiating an aura of intense heat and annihilation, suddenly manifested in the void between them!
The speck was no larger than a grain of rice at first, yet it contained terrifying fluctuations that made one's heart tremble.
As the distance between Vitelli's palms increased, this dark purple energy mass began to expand violently!
Fine beads of sweat seeped from Vitelli's temples; clearly, controlling this destructive energy was still a burden on his body.
But just then, a silver flash ignited in Vitelli's eyes. Instead of hurling the energy away like Beerus, he let out a low shout: "Not enough!"
He had actually begun to forcibly inject the characteristics of his "White Heat Flash" technique, which contained extreme heat, into this already highly unstable mass of destruction energy!
Instantly, the interior of the dark purple energy sphere seemed to ignite, with a blinding white light erupting from its core!
An indescribable heat radiated outward, causing the surrounding space to distort slightly.
The two distinct energies—dark purple and searing white—clashed and fused violently, emitting a teeth-grinding hiss as they teetered on the brink of an uncontrolled explosion!
Vitelli gritted his teeth, pouring out his remaining powerful divine aura without reservation to forcibly suppress and guide these two unruly forces.
He maintained the utmost precision in his control, his spirit highly focused, as the two forces fusing between his hands danced on the edge of a blade.
