At age eighteen in Age 749, Bulma completed the Dragon Radar after analyzing the electromagnetic-like signals emitted by a Dragon Ball discovered in Dr. Brief’s warehouse. With her parents’ approval, she used her summer vacation to pursue all seven Dragon Balls. 8 9

While following the closest radar signal into the wilderness east of Paris Town, she discovered a long-abandoned alien scout ship. Her curiosity led her to study its Universal Star Map and operating systems before she opened its stasis chamber and awakened Vitelli. Although his awakening accidentally injured her, Bulma used his debt of gratitude to recruit him as her bodyguard for the Dragon Ball search. 9 10

Vitelli’s overwhelming strength made the expedition far easier than Bulma expected. After gathering the Dragon Balls, she hesitated over her own wish and ultimately let Vitelli use Shenron’s power instead.
