"Well, well, kid. I didn't expect you to be able to stand back up. I underestimated you!"
Looking at the wolf-man, he was eyeing Sun Yu with a smug expression. He raised his wrist to catch the half-leg of beef he had tossed into the air earlier, looking as flashy as one could possibly be.
Heh, you're really getting full of yourself. Sun Yu brushed the dust off his body, muttering unhappily to himself. What the hell? Am I the protagonist or are you? According to the script, shouldn't I be the one slapping the face of this villain-looking wolf-man? Why aren't you following the tropes!
"Kael, step back. Let your big sister avenge you!" Lana patted Sun Yu's hair before stepping in front of him.
"Hey, Lana, what was that look for? I was just caught off guard, that's all! You guys don't actually think I was being bullied, do you?" Sun Yu argued loudly, casting a look of appeal to those around him.
Everyone nodded in unison. Bulma even comforted Sun Yu in a childish, milky voice: "It's okay, Brother Sun Yu. In my heart, you'll always be a great hero!"
"Pfft!" Sun Yu nearly spat out a mouthful of blood. Little girl, are you doing this on purpose to piss me off? You know what my strength is! Have you forgotten who took down the Red Ribbon Army and the androids?
"Lana, don't join in on the fun. Move aside and let me finish this guy off!" Sun Yu rolled up his sleeves, making a show of wanting to fight the wolf-man to the death.
Lana stuck out her cute little tongue and cleared a path for Sun Yu.
"Hey, you beast! Get over here and meet your end!" Sun Yu stood before the wolf-man and pointed at his nose, shouting insults.
Hearing Sun Yu call him a beast, the wolf-man's expression turned cold. A thick, undisguised murderous intent filled his eyes as he said gloomily, "Heh, someone else once dared to call me a beast. Guess what happened to him? The grass on his grave is already two meters high!"
"Oh, what a coincidence!" Sensing the wolf-man's killing intent, Sun Yu felt an inexplicable rush of excitement. "Someone once dared to be disrespectful to my Bulma. Guess what happened to them? Their graves... well, they didn't have graves, because they were left with nowhere to be buried!"
Hearing their exchange, the onlookers thought they were joking and burst into raucous laughter. Lana, however, felt her heart skip a beat and instinctively pulled Bulma closer, sensing that the wolf-man was definitely no pushover.
"Remember, the one who kills you is named Ace!" The wolf-man announced his name, then suddenly sprang forward, throwing a heavy punch at Sun Yu.
The punch was as swift as thunder. Sun Yu raised his hands to block, and the sound of air tearing echoed as they collided.
The onlookers were stunned, unable to believe that such a scrawny boy possessed such immense strength.
Sun Yu and the wolf-man named Ace both caught a flash of shock in each other's eyes. Sun Yu dropped his guard, realizing that while he couldn't sense the opponent's power level, the man's strength was clearly on par with his own!
"I admit I underestimated you before. Now, let's see what you've really got!" Sun Yu was full of questions about Ace's identity, but as a member of the warrior race, the Saiyan, he preferred to let his fists do the talking.
"My thoughts exactly!"
Ace and Sun Yu leaped up in tacit agreement. Amidst the screams of the crowd, they jumped onto the roof of the East City Grand Department Store. Lana followed, holding Bulma, and watched them quietly from the side.
They stood facing each other. Sun Yu vanished from his spot in a blur, palm striking toward Ace's chest. Ace's expression remained cold and unreadable. He crossed his massive wolf claws in front of his chest. Sun Yu's strike looked effortless, but it was packed with hidden force. Ace felt as if a mountain had slammed into him; he used all his strength to resist, and with a loud boom, both were sent sliding back several steps.
This guy's power level is at least as high as mine! Sun Yu was secretly astonished. How could such a powerhouse appear on Earth? But this is perfect—he's a great test for the results of my recent training.
Boom, boom, boom...
The two soared into the air and began to trade blows. Sun Yu refrained from using energy attacks to avoid collateral damage, while Ace seemed unable to use energy at all. His fighting style was simple, brutal, and purely physical. They traded punch for punch, moving at such high speeds that the ordinary people below couldn't even catch a glimpse of their shadows.
After dozens of rounds, Sun Yu and Ace hovered in the air, panting heavily. The brief skirmish had been exhilarating. Though both bore various injuries, they could see the excitement in each other's eyes.
"We're at this point now, and you're still not going to use your full strength?" Sun Yu wiped blood from the corner of his mouth and gave Ace a faint smile.
"Hmph, look who's talking! Don't think I don't know you haven't been fighting seriously either!" Ace spat out a mouthful of blood and cracked his neck, the joints popping loudly.
"I was afraid that if I used my full strength all at once, I'd scare you," Sun Yu said with a grin.
"Heh, then let me see it. Just don't let it be all talk!" Ace watched Sun Yu with an intrigued expression.
"As you wish..." Sun Yu bent his arms at his chest, hunched his back, and unleashed his full aura.
"Haaaaaaaah..."
As the power within Sun Yu was released, a pale golden aura faintly coated his body. The surrounding air grew heavy, emitting a low, buzzing hum.
"Damn it, you brat!" Even though Ace couldn't accurately sense "ki," he could still feel a soul-shaking power emanating from Sun Yu's body.
On the roof of the East City Grand Department Store, Lana watched Sun Yu from afar as he released his immense aura, a cryptic smile playing on her lips.
After a long moment, Sun Yu released his full power level of ninety-five thousand. The pale golden aura on his body solidified, emitting a soft, radiant glow.
"Watch out, I'm coming for you!" Sun Yu gave Ace a mischievous smile and vanished from his spot.
"Damn it..." Ace hadn't even seen Sun Yu move; his speed was simply too fast. Ace frantically searched his surroundings, but couldn't find him.
"Damn it, where are you!"
"Right here..." Before the words faded, Sun Yu appeared in front of Ace. A single, heavy strike landed with a thud.
Ace's body was sent flying backward. Because of the sheer force of Sun Yu's blow, Ace crashed straight through the building behind him, creating a massive crater in the ground. Fortunately, it was a landscaped area, and no one was hurt.
