"Phew, with the system, at least I have some security in the Naruto World."
Shin discovered that he actually still had five copy cards.
Shin had been transmigrated to the Naruto World for five years. Although the system had been dormant during this time, the copy card gifted once every year had not been embezzled.
"Is my luck really that bad?"
After checking, Shin discovered that these five copy cards were all Common Copy Cards.
The copy card gifted annually was random; if one were lucky, one might obtain a God-tier Copy Card. Unfortunately, Shin's luck was not good; he didn't even get an Advanced Copy Card.
"Let's check the missions."
Shin opened the system's mission panel and found there was only one mission.
[Survival: Survive the destruction of the Land of Whirlpools. Mission reward: one Common Copy Card. No penalty for failure.]
"System, are you joking? No penalty for failure? If I fail, I'm dead," Shin couldn't help but retort.
Could the survival mission even be failed? Wouldn't failure just mean death?
"And this reward is too mediocre, isn't it?"
"Master, rewards are issued based on the difficulty of the mission. This mission is not very difficult."
Shin couldn't refute that. Indeed, for someone like him who was well-prepared, this mission was not particularly difficult.
In the original story, when the Land of Whirlpools was destroyed, quite a few members of the Uzumaki Clan must have survived, such as the mother of Karin Uzumaki.
"Time to head back."
Shin channeled chakra into his legs, leaped onto a tree, and disappeared after a few flashes.
The place where Shin lived was quite remote, almost far away from the clan grounds. That was fine, though; at least it was quiet.
"You're finally back, Xiao Yu."
Kushina was sitting on the steps in front of the door, her hands cupping her chin. Her originally dim eyes lit up the moment she saw Shin.
"Kushina, don't tell me you've been sitting here the whole time?"
Shin walked over and pulled Kushina up. Only Shin and Kushina lived here.
A year ago, Shin had still been living within the clan, but he moved out due to certain circumstances.
Kushina had no ties within the clan either; her parents had passed away in an accident when she was three. She only had Shin as a good friend, so she followed him here.
"I've been waiting for you the whole time. If you didn't come back, I would have starved to death."
Kushina said listlessly. There was no helping it; she didn't know how to cook and could only rely on Shin for meals.
"Don't you still have some snacks? You should have eaten those to tide yourself over."
Kushina suddenly gave an awkward smile, clutching her clothes with her small hands, and said embarrassedly, "I've already finished them all."
"Alright then, I'll go cook right away."
Just as Shin was about to pull Kushina into the house, he suddenly heard a faint sound behind him and immediately turned his head to look.
A middle-aged man dressed as a ninja with red hair was standing not far behind Shin.
The middle-aged man was expressionless; he held a small bundle and threw it toward Shin.
"This is your living expenses."
Shin caught the bundle and opened it, discovering that besides money, there were actually two ninjutsu scrolls inside.
"Those two ninjutsu scrolls are your mother's belongings. The Grand Elder asked me to give them to you."
After the middle-aged man finished speaking, he used the Body Flicker Technique and left.
"Mother's belongings." Shin felt a bit conflicted. He opened the two ninjutsu scrolls and saw that they recorded two sealing techniques: the Adamantine Sealing Chains and the Four Symbols Seal.
The Adamantine Sealing Chains and the Four Symbols Seal were both extremely powerful sealing techniques and the best ones for dealing with Tailed Beasts.
"Xiao Yu, are you okay?" Kushina asked cautiously.
"Don't worry, I'm fine. I'll go cook first. After we eat, we'll practice the sealing techniques together."
Shin came back to his senses, smiled at Kushina, and said.
"Ah? That won't do. These are your mother's belongings; how could I practice them with you?" Kushina shook her head.
"Because you, Kushina, are my best friend. You stayed by my side when I was ostracized by everyone. Naturally, I want to share good things with you."
Shin patted Kushina on the shoulder and said earnestly.
Shin is the grandson of the Grand Elder of the Uzumaki Clan. His mother was the Grand Elder's daughter, but his father was not a member of the Uzumaki Clan.
Not only was he not of the Uzumaki Clan, he was a member of the Uchiha Clan, a former enemy of the Uzumaki Clan.
During the Warring States period, the Uzumaki Clan and the Senju Clan were distant allies, while the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan were generational enemies.
Because of their relationship with the Senju Clan, the Uzumaki Clan frequently clashed with the Uchiha Clan. Even though many years have passed since the Warring States period, that hatred has not yet faded.
Naturally, Shin's parents did not have a happy ending. Eventually, that man returned to the Uchiha Clan, and Shin's mother died of depression because of this affair.
It is said that after Shin's mother died, that man also perished during a mission.
It is precisely for this reason that Shin is not well-regarded within the Uzumaki Clan; even his grandfather, the Grand Elder of the Uzumaki Clan, does not care for him.
Soon, Shin finished preparing the meal. The food he made tasted quite good; at the very least, Kushina ate it with great relish.
After eating, Shin called Kushina over to study the Adamantine Sealing Chains and the Four Symbols Seal together.
The Adamantine Sealing Chains is an A-rank sealing technique. When used, multiple chakra chains extend from the back, serving not only as powerful offensive weapons but also as tools to create barriers and seal Tailed Beasts.
Furthermore, the stronger the chakra, the greater the power of the technique. And what is the Uzumaki Clan most famous for? Isn't it their chakra?
The Uzumaki Clan possesses the Sage Body. Even Kushina, who had only just refined chakra a few days ago, already possessed chakra no weaker than that of an ordinary genin.
Relying on powerful chakra combined with this sealing technique, even the Nine-Tails would feel wary when facing the Uzumaki Clan.
The strength of the Uzumaki Clan lies in their chakra and sealing techniques; the very technique Konoha uses to seal the Nine-Tails is a sealing technique of the Uzumaki Clan.
"I can't understand this at all. Am I just too stupid?"
Kushina looked at these two sealing techniques, feeling a headache coming on.
Shin was studying these two sealing techniques intently. After transmigrating into this world, Shin discovered that his learning ability had become incredibly strong.
Now, looking at these two sealing techniques, he was beginning to grasp some clues, though mastering them would not be possible in a short amount of time.
After all, these are A-rank sealing techniques. Many elite jonin are unable to learn them; one must possess sufficient talent.
They studied until very late before Shin finally put down the scrolls. Only then did he notice that Kushina had fallen asleep right beside him.
"Silly girl, to think you fell asleep right here."
Shin carefully picked up Kushina, gently placed her on the tatami mat, and covered her with a quilt.
"Mm, I need to get some sleep too."
Shin stretched his back. He had to rest well at night so he would have the energy to train during the day.
After washing up, Shin returned to his own room to rest.
