History
Konoha was founded jointly by the Senju and Uchiha clans. Its Ninja Academy was established by the Second Hokage to train the village's shinobi. 19 291
Following the destruction of the Uzumaki Clan, Konoha received the surviving Uzumaki children and pledged to investigate the massacre and the ambush on Tsunade's escort. Tsunade settled the survivors in the largely vacant Senju Clan Grounds. 13 14
During the war against Sunagakure, Amegakure, Iwagakure, and Kirigakure, Konoha was strained across several fronts. Kirigakure's forces advanced into the heart of the Land of Fire, but their camp was devastated and the Third Mizukage was killed, forcing a retreat. 98 105 111 Konoha ultimately compelled Sunagakure to surrender after a prolonged campaign in the Land of Wind. 152
Konoha later elected Namikaze Minato as its Fourth Hokage by an overwhelming margin. After Minato's death during the Nine-Tails incident, Sarutobi Hiruzen returned to office. 237 257 The aftermath weakened the village, caused heavy shinobi losses, and led to the Uchiha Clan being blamed for the disaster and relocated to Konoha's outskirts. 257
The village's internal cohesion further deteriorated when the Hyuga Clan defected en masse, citing Konoha's willingness to sacrifice clan members to appease Kumogakure. 286 291 Konoha also faced escalating conflict between its leadership and the Uchiha Clan, while Danzō advocated suppressing the clan. 292
Akatsuki later invaded Konoha openly through its main gate, causing widespread destruction with puppets, explosive attacks, and summoned beasts. 417 418 After the attack, Konoha began rebuilding; Nawaki became the Sixth Hokage and hired Uzumaki Shin to rapidly reconstruct the village with Wood Release. 424 430
