Chidori!

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, on killing three Chunin. You have been awarded 6,000 points. Please check your balance!"

Hearing the system notification, Li was slightly surprised. He hadn't expected the three unlucky bastards to be Chunin. But seeing that they were at least in their twenties, he understood. It was perfectly normal for someone in their twenties to be a Chunin.

The Second Shinobi World War had only just ended. Over the past few years, many ninjas hadn't taken the Chunin Ninja Exams because of the war. They had the strength of Chunin but not the title. Now that Konoha was holding the Chunin Ninja Exams, these guys had naturally come to take part. There were probably more than just these three; aside from the geniuses, most of the older ninja in this batch of candidates likely had Chunin-level strength!

Killing the three unlucky bastards who had ambushed him had earned Li 6,000 points. It was an unexpected windfall. If he killed a few more Chunin, he'd soon have 10,000 points. Then he could exchange them for a powerful Dojutsu or an offensive Ninjutsu and boost his strength considerably.

"Sunagakure scum, ready or not?" Li gave a faint smile, then leaped onto a tree branch and sped after the two Sand Ninja.

"Boss, why hasn't the third one caught up? Could something have happened to him?"

As they continued onward, the second Sand Ninja grew more and more uneasy. That hawk had appeared far too suddenly, and he'd never heard of a hawk attacking people of its own accord—unless it was being controlled or was someone's summoned beast.

"Hmph. The third one's probably already been taken out," the boss said grimly. He didn't need anyone to tell him; he'd had a bad feeling about it for several minutes. Thinking back, the hawk seemed to have Tomoe in its eyes. That meant it had a Sharingan, and was clearly being controlled by someone from the Uchiha Clan.

"You mean that Mirai Uchiha killed him?" The skinny Sand Ninja could hardly believe it. How old was Mirai Uchiha? According to Elder Chiyo and the Third Kazekage, Mirai Uchiha was only nine years old. A nine-year-old who could kill a Jonin? That was absurd!

"I'm only guessing. But don't underestimate him just because he's young. There are plenty of ninja in the Shinobi World, and plenty of geniuses too. Konoha especially—has it ever lacked geniuses?" The boss snorted. Though the third one might have been killed, he didn't feel particularly sad. He'd seen too many people die over the years, and had lost countless comrades on the battlefield.

"I understand." The skinny Sand Ninja nodded, his expression unchanged.

The two hurried onward. According to their original plan, they were going to ambush Li on the path to the Central Tower.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, on killing two Chunin and one Elite Genin. You have been awarded 5,000 points. Please check your balance!"

After finding the team's scroll, Li heard the system notification. With the 5,000 points, plus what he already had, he now had 12,000 points—enough to exchange for another Dojutsu.

"Earth Scroll!" Li grinned slightly. He already had the Heaven Scroll, so now he had a complete pair. As long as he took out the other two Sand Ninja, he could meet up with Minato Namikaze and Kushina.

After putting away the scroll, Li turned his attention back to his points. He now had 12,000, and a Dojutsu cost only 10,000.

"No. The Mangekyō Sharingan's Dojutsu are powerful, but they also come with serious side effects. I've already got Kamui as a trump card for now. I should exchange for a powerful offensive Ninjutsu instead!"

Li had both Lightning and Fire Release affinities, but he'd only ever studied Fire Release. The Uchiha Clan did have Lightning Release Ninjutsu, but most of them were C- or B-Rank. Li naturally had no interest in training in techniques of that level. Now that he had points to spend, he could consider Lightning Release. The Uchiha Clan might be renowned for Fire Release, but it lacked the impact of Lightning Release. Its hand signs were also extremely complex, and its attacks were easy to dodge because they covered such a large area. Take the Great Fireball Technique, for example—it practically never hit anyone.

"As for Lightning Release, Kakashi's Chidori is pretty powerful. With my Sharingan, I can control it perfectly." Li rubbed his chin, and, having made up his mind, immediately spent 10,000 points to exchange for Chidori.

"Chidori: S-Rank. It has immense piercing power. When attacking, it activates the user's cells, increasing their speed to the limit!"

No wonder Kakashi couldn't use it before he got the Sharingan, even though he'd created the technique himself. Its power had clearly exceeded what he could handle. If Obito hadn't given him the Sharingan later, this Lightning Release Ninjutsu might have been usable only by members of the Uchiha Clan.

Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!

After exchanging for Chidori, Li tried it out. A thunderous roar rang out like a thousand birds chirping, and blue lightning appeared around his right hand.

"Sharingan!"

Using his Sharingan to lock onto a tree up ahead, Li charged at it. Stimulated by the lightning, his speed increased more than threefold. In just a few breaths, he covered dozens of meters, his right hand piercing straight through a tree that would have taken two people to wrap their arms around. The thunderous sound then faded away.

"Just as I thought, it's powerful. With Chidori and the Mangekyō Sharingan, even an Elite Jonin is no threat to me anymore!" Li nodded, satisfied with Chidori's attack power. It didn't have the grand spectacle of Fire Release, but Chidori focused on piercing power and lethality. In terms of single-target damage, the Great Fire Release: Majestic Destroyer Flame wasn't even half as powerful as Chidori.

After testing Chidori, Li didn't linger. He set off after the Sand Ninja again. He hadn't stopped there to hunt people for points; those three bastards had simply been foolish enough to try to steal his scroll. They'd failed to take it and had instead handed him 5,000 points.

Thump!

The two Sand Ninja stopped on a tree branch. In the distance, they could just make out a tall tower. It was the Central Tower of the Forest of Death. Candidates who gathered a pair of scrolls and brought them to the Central Tower would complete this exam.

"This is the only path to the Central Tower. We'll lie in wait here and kill Mirai Uchiha as soon as he gets here!"
