Background
The Seven Mysteries Sect is a major orthodox sect based in Yu Province. Though the province remains nominally under Great Xuan rule, imperial decrees, tax silver, and tributes no longer effectively pass through the sect; Yu Province has been functionally separated from court control for decades. 79 96
Its influence extends across all seven counties of Yu Province, including Yu County and Yu City. The Xue, He, Xie, and Yu families are affiliated forces, and leading figures of those families have served as sect elders. 79 114
Before the wider turmoil reached Yu Province, the sect pursued an isolationist policy: it sealed the province, avoided intervention in neighboring conflicts, and preserved relative stability by retaining the imperial administrative system rather than replacing it outright. 115 This position became untenable after the Heaven Sword Sect, Blood Shadow Tower, Profound Mystery Pavilion, and Joyful Union Sect entered Yu Province. 115 382
Organization
Seven Peaks
The sect's name refers to its seven mountain peaks. Each peak has a Peak Lord, a True Disciple, dozens of Inner Sect disciples, and hundreds of Outer Sect disciples. 114

| Tian Xuan Peak | One of the seven constituent peaks. 114 |
| Di Xuan Peak | One of the seven constituent peaks. 114 |

| Zheng Xuan Peak | One of the seven constituent peaks. 114 |
Administration
- Sect Master / Acting Sect Master — Qi Zhiyuan served as Acting Sect Master while the Sect Master remained in seclusion. 115
- Grand Elders — Stand above the Sect Leader, elders, and Peak Lords. Qin Mengjun became a Grand Elder after reaching the Blood Exchange Realm. 341
- Hall of Affairs — Oversees sect affairs; peak-level Halls of Affairs operate under their respective Guardians and the central Hall of Affairs. 114 250
- Elders — Elders of the Hall of Affairs are Zang Fu Realm cultivators. 114
- Guardians — Supervise peak affairs and serve as important combat and administrative personnel. 250 278
- True, Inner, and Outer Sect disciples — The sect maintains seven True Disciples and several thousand Inner and Outer Sect disciples supported by Yu Province's resources. 114
Territory and Facilities
Yu Province
The sect governs Yu Province from the north-central region, within a few hundred miles of the provincial capital. 115 Its authority is reflected in the province's tax and tribute flows, affiliated families, and influence over institutions such as the Demon Subduing Office. 79 107
Seven Mysteries Town
A prosperous settlement outside the mountain range, Seven Mysteries Town owes its security and prosperity to the sect's protection. It is described as one of the last stable places in the chaotic world. 211
Mountain Gate
The true mountain gate lies in a mountain range beyond Seven Mysteries Town. Its stone tablet bears the name “Seven Mysteries Sect” and was left by the founding Sect Master, who reportedly leveled a mountain with a sword before erecting it. 211
Scripture Pavilion
Located in the Central Valley, the Scripture Pavilion is arranged according to the Eight Trigrams of Heaven and Earth. 213 216
Forbidden Ground
The sect's Forbidden Ground contains the Universe Locking Dragon Pillar and serves as a secluded cultivation site for senior figures such as Yin Heng, Qin Mengjun, and Chen Mu. 475 478
Formations and Assets
- Heaven and Earth Locking Dragon Formation — A top-tier formation that controls the local Earth Vein and strengthens the sect's mountain gate defenses. 387
- Its power creates a higher concentration of Heaven and Earth Origin Qi within the sect than outside. 576
- A Qiankun Node on Ling Xuan Peak allows qualified cultivators to connect with the formation and sense the state of merging with heaven and earth. 317
- Qin Mengjun previously used the formation to heal her Heart Soul injury. 341
- Taiyin Mirror / Grand Yin Mirror — A powerful Spirit Weapon wielded by Qi Zhiyuan during the assault on Secluded Silence Valley. It was particularly effective in large-scale warfare and against Earth Vein nodes. 320 321
- Sect Treasury — Holds accumulated provincial collections and resources supplied by Grandmasters exploring regions such as the Great Wilderness. 276
- Original Eight Aspects Diagram — Chen Mu later presented this chart to Qin Mengjun and Yin Heng for study. 475
- Heaven and Earth Primal Chaos Chart — Chen Mu intended to create this chart to guide martial artists throughout the world. 514
Relationships
- Great Xuan Dynasty — Historically court-recognized through the Xuan Yu Marquis title, but Yu Province was effectively independent as the dynasty weakened. 79 154
- Yu Province’s four great families — Affiliated local powers; their senior members have connections to the sect's elder ranks. 79 114
- Demon Subduing Office — The Yu County Chief Constable came from the sect and maintained nominal neutrality in family disputes, intervening during major Demon disasters. 107
- Heaven Sword Sect — A rival sect whose True Disciples challenged the Seven Mysteries Sect to gain entry into Yu Province; later cooperated in Frost County against demonic forces. 115 284
- Blood Shadow Tower — Rival force that sought entry into Yu Province and later stood among the threats facing the sect. 115 382
- Profound Mystery Pavilion — Major rival that attempted to establish control over Yu County and fought the sect's forces in the region. 162 267
- Joyful Union Sect — Initially another outside sect seeking influence in Yu Province; its members later maintained exchanges with Chen Mu. 115 240
- Ice Severing Palace — Allied with the sect during the Ice Province conflict. 284
- Heavenly Demon Sect — Enemy sect whose Main Altar at Secluded Silence Valley was attacked and destroyed by the Seven Mysteries Sect. 318 324
- Heavenly Corpse Sect — Hostile sect whose remnants, strongholds, and later main forces came into conflict with the Seven Mysteries Sect. 114 285
Story Role / Major Arcs
Control of Yu Province
As Great Xuan's authority declined, the Seven Mysteries Sect became Yu Province's true governing power while outwardly retaining imperial structures. Its choice to remain closed to outside sects preserved the province's stability for decades. 79 96 115
Outside Sects Enter Yu Province
True Disciples from the Heaven Sword Sect, Blood Shadow Tower, Profound Mystery Pavilion, and Joyful Union Sect arrived together to challenge the sect and force their way into Yu Province. The Seven Mysteries Sect ultimately could not maintain exclusive control over Yu County's opportunities and resources. 115 236
Chen Mu Joins Ling Xuan Peak
Chen Mu entered the sect under Ling Xuan Peak and received cultivation opportunities connected to the sect's Eight Trigrams inheritance. The leadership recognized his extraordinary potential and resolved to provide resources even at considerable cost. 213 236
Ice Province Campaign
The sect gradually entered the Ice Province war due to competing interests and the threat posed by the Heavenly Demon Sect, Heavenly Corpse Sect, and foreign races. 272 In Frost County, its forces fought alongside the Heaven Sword Sect and Ice Severing Palace, using Military Formation Discs and Grandmaster-led support to gain an advantage. 284 285
Destruction of Secluded Silence Valley
Following a Grand Elder Decree, the sect mobilized its principal forces against Secluded Silence Valley, the Heavenly Demon Sect's suspected Main Altar. 318 Qi Zhiyuan led nearly twenty Grandmaster-level combatants, supported by the Taiyin Mirror, Feng Hongsheng, Shi Zhenyong, Chen Mu, and other senior figures. 320 321
Despite the threat of a Ninth Rank Heavenly Demon and the valley's Earth Vein formation, Qi Zhiyuan ordered the formation destroyed. The collapse of the Earth Vein defenses brought down the Heavenly Demon Sect's Main Altar. 323 324
Expansion into Ice Province
After the Main Altar's fall and Qin Mengjun's breakthrough to the Blood Exchange Realm, the foreign forces and Heavenly Corpse Sect withdrew from Cold County. The Seven Mysteries Sect subsequently controlled both Frost County and Cold County of Ice Province. 341
Rise of Ling Xuan Peak
Ling Xuan Peak became one of the sect's strongest lineages: Qin Mengjun advanced to Grand Elder, Chen Mu became Peak Lord, and Chu Jingsu entered the Marrow Cleansing Realm. 341 345
Martial Saint Era
Chen Mu's rise transformed the sect's standing. After he returned from the Outer Sea as a Blood Exchange Realm expert, other major forces avoided provoking the sect, including the North Suppressing Manor. 456
Following Chen Mu's suppression of the Great Xuan imperial power and recognition as the Martial Saint, he enriched the sect treasury with Spirit Weapons and Spirit Items exceeding its centuries of accumulated stock. 468 475
Gathering of the World’s Martial Artists
The sect became the site where hundreds of Blood Exchange Realm experts and nearly a thousand Marrow Cleansing Grandmasters gathered to study the Original Chart and prepare for the Demon Calamity. 514 524 Its authority was sufficient to keep long-standing enemies from fighting within the mountain gate. 514
Seven Mysteries Holy Land
Over tens of thousands of years, the Seven Mysteries Sect evolved into the Seven Mysteries Holy Land—the undisputed foremost power in the Great Xuan World, standing above ordinary sects and even capable of influencing dynastic succession. 602
Trivia
- The sect primarily inherits and cultivates the Eight Trigrams of Heaven and Earth, reflecting its founding master's imperial-court origins. 154
- The sect's earlier policy emphasized avoiding external conflict, but internal competition for resources among its peaks was tolerated as a way to produce stronger martial artists. 236
- In its earlier era, even becoming an Outer Sect disciple was considered enough to ensure at least Duan Gu Realm cultivation after leaving the mountain. 469
- As the sect's prestige grew, disciple recruitment shifted from judging aptitude alone to considering character as well. 524
