With a roar from Tang Wulin, a layer of golden scales rapidly emerged from his right fingertips, and his entire arm seemed to swell in size.
Tang Wulin's pupils had turned completely gold, reminiscent of an S-class student from Kassel Academy. He slammed his left foot into the ground with a low boom, accelerating toward Lan Kai like a cannonball.
Immediately after, Tang Wulin's right palm suddenly expanded, his fingers elongated, and golden claws sprouted forth, transforming into the form of a dragon claw.
"Oh? Is Tang Wulin already using the legendary, invincible Golden Dragon Claw?"
Seeing Tang Wulin charging at him with such fierce momentum, Lan Kai immediately raised the Orb Ring in front of him.
Although he had just finished a solid cosplay of Ultraman Agul, his current physical state was no match for the real thing. Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw possessed a crushing effect, and he didn't want to gamble on such a risky encounter.
If he miscalculated and his current body couldn't withstand the Golden Dragon Claw, he would be forced to counterattack with the Light of Orb. If that resulted in knocking Tang San out of Tang Wulin's body, the situation would become impossible to resolve.
Thus, Lan Kai decisively pulled out the Orb Ring and entered his transformation sequence.
"Ultraman-senpai!"
"Tiga-senpai!"
"Please lend me your powers of light!"
"Fusion Up!"
"Ultraman Orb, Specium Zeperion Form!"
As the Orb Ring emitted a blinding radiance, Lan Kai completed his transformation. He punched Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw, sending him flying backward to crash into Gu Yue, and both of them tumbled to the ground.
After transforming, Lan Kai did not press his advantage. Instead, he stood in place with his hands on his hips, striking a pose that looked incredibly imposing.
"Damn it... you guy, just what are you?"
Looking at Lan Kai, who seemed to have changed species, Tang Wulin climbed up from the ground. He glared at the transformed Lan Kai with unwillingness, his angry gaze seemingly capable of turning into flames or shooting lasers.
"I am called Orb! I shall illuminate the darkness and repel evil!"
Lan Kai answered with the kind of death-flag question that would surely get him killed by Wang Xiaoming on a Kamen Rider set, then charged toward Tang Wulin and Gu Yue.
Tang Wulin gritted his teeth, brandished his Golden Dragon Claw again, and lunged at Lan Kai. Simultaneously, he used his Blue Silver Grass to retrieve the Thousand Refinement Deep Silver hammer he had dropped, hurling it at Lan Kai.
Gu Yue did not provide a buff to Tang Wulin this time. Instead, she raised her hands again, condensing a light wheel between them, preparing to launch a lethal attack on Lan Kai.
However, Lan Kai raised his hand and threw an Ultra Slash, completely severing Tang Wulin's Blue Silver Grass. Immediately after, the red sections of Lan Kai's skin lit up; he grabbed Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw, swung him around in a circle, and tossed him in the other direction, landing him at the feet of Wu Zhangkong.
Lan Kai then turned to face Gu Yue, once again striking a pose identical to the King of Posing, extending his right hand and beckoning with his fingers.
"You forced my hand! Take this, my Super Ultra Slash!"
Seeing Tang Wulin thrown out of the arena and Lan Kai's continued provocation, Gu Yue gritted her teeth, sweat beginning to bead on her forehead.
Soon, the light wheel in her hands took shape, looking much like Lan Kai's Ultra Slash, and she hurled it toward him.
Gu Yue's "Super Ultra Slash" seemed significantly faster than Lan Kai's Ultra Slash, reaching him in the blink of an eye.
Lan Kai raised his left hand and drew a circle in the air. A circular light shield immediately appeared before him, reflecting Gu Yue's "Super Ultra Slash" back, where it grazed her ear and flew into the sky.
A few strands of hair fell from where Gu Yue's own "Super Ultra Slash" had brushed her, dropping alongside the cold sweat on her face.
"Do you still want to fight? If we continue, I might not be able to hold back."
Lan Kai deactivated his transformation, walked toward Gu Yue with his hands in his pockets, and suggested with a smile.
Although he didn't want the debut of Orb's Specium Zeperion Form to end so anticlimactically, Gu Yue wasn't a monster; using the Speperion Ray on her now would be far too ruthless.
Thus, he decided to leave the choice to her—she could either bow out gracefully or let him help her do so.
If Gu Yue still wanted to fight to the death, Lan Kai could use the more easily controlled Specium Ray to end the match.
"...I concede."
Though Gu Yue was unwilling, the memories she retained from her time as Na'er told her that if she continued to fight, her ultimate fate would be miserable.
Therefore, after a brief moment of hesitation, she gritted her teeth and chose to concede.
However, before turning to leave, she puffed out her cheeks and whispered a single sentence, audible only to Lan Kai:
"I'm going to report you to Mr. Juggler."
"Trying to tattle to the parents because you couldn't win? Interesting. But isn't that just admitting your own defeat..."
Watching Gu Yue's retreating back, a playful smile curled the corner of Lan Kai's mouth—a look already thirty percent similar to Juggler.
His transformation this time was forced; the crushing effect of Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw could indeed pierce his current physical defenses. To block it head-on with his current strength, transformation was his only option.
Even if Gu Yue found a way to report him to Juggler, Lan Kai had plenty of righteous excuses to defend himself.
What Lan Kai didn't expect, however, was that Gu Yue truly had a way to report him successfully, and her method was quite sophisticated.
A day later, when Juggler agreed to take Lan Kai to the Eastsea City Spirit Pagoda to prepare for training in the Spirit Ascension Platform, they were met in the lobby by a tall, red-haired beauty accompanied by a slyly grinning Gu Yue.
"We meet again, Spirit Envoy Juggler." The red-haired beauty greeted Juggler warmly.
"Vice Pagoda Master Leng, what brings you here today?" Juggler responded formally, simultaneously revealing the red-haired woman's identity.
What the hell? Gu Yue is already a personal disciple of Leng Yaozhu at this point? Does this have anything to do with her being a month late?
Looking at Gu Yue's sly grin, how could Lan Kai not understand what she meant by reporting him?
Yet, another matter made Lan Kai even more curious: Juggler's attitude toward Leng Yaozhu seemed strange, much like how he treated Mr. Ye Hu back at the Storage Facility—the man the audience once suspected of being Astra.
Could it be that Juggler joining the Spirit Pagoda had something to do with Leng Yaozhu?
