Sunbearers
Zul'ra talked a lot with Mor and Skik, asking about their lives and work. From their answers, he gained a true understanding of Amani society. Although they weren't at the very bottom of society, Amani currently doesn't have people facing extreme hardship because Amani's still a society based on distribution. 💥👺 🎉👻
Amani originally lived in a primitive distribution society. Zul'ra had considered making some reforms in this regard, but ultimately gave up. Even after transitioning to agriculture, the grain was collected, stored, and distributed uniformly, mainly due to the immense external pressure. Now it seems that his approach was correct.
In a society based on distribution, all Amani Trolls live on the same path, with little gap between rich and poor. This reduces social conflict, but it can also easily lead to absolute egalitarianism, resulting in excessive public accumulation and voluntary labor. However, this situation has not yet occurred, but there is no guarantee that it will not occur in the future.
The biggest piece of information Zul'ra learned from Mor and Skik was about her established authority in Amani. Although many Forest Trolls didn't understand or even opposed her aid to Quel'Thalas, they still carried out her decision, which meant they had a considerable foundation of trust in her.
Gaining the trust of the Amani people meant that her transformation of Amani had been effective, and Zul'ra felt a great sense of accomplishment. She talked with Mor and Skik for a long time, and before leaving, she gave them some encouragement, telling them they had time to write to her.
After sending Mor and Skik away, Zul'ra was left alone and began to open the iron-bound book that had been escorted to her. This book was a holy book, a holy book belonging to the Paladin.
Upon seeing Liadrin, he conceived the idea of training Amani Paladin. Therefore, he wrote a letter and sent it to Mordu, asking him to pass it on to Lor'themar Theron, the temporary leader of the Blood Elves. Lor'themar did not disappoint him and delivered the holy book to Mordu.
The Holy Book originally belonged to Myra Dawnblade, the elven paladin who commanded the defense of Silvermoon City in Farstrider's Square when it fell. Myra Dawnblade learned the ways of paladins from Uther the Lightbringer during the Second War.
The Elves failed to recognize the strategic value of Paladin, so Mela was not given important responsibilities after the war. Of course, this might also be related to his background, but these were not things that Zul'ra needed to consider.
Zul'ra first flipped through Mela's Holy Book, which contained very comprehensive information. It should be noted that the training of Paladin is completely different from that of Priest; Paladin are a new kind of being that combines the skills of Warrior and Priest.
Priest are completely devoted to religious mysticism, while Warrior fight with their strong physiques and weapons. Paladin combine the strengths of both. They train their bodies, control their anger, and call upon the power of the Light. They are not only capable of close combat, but can also use the Light to help themselves and others.
Unlike Priest who develop the Light and strange spells based on the mysterious power of the human body, Paladin use pure the Light magic. Their spells appear in the form of holy seals and blessings, which are interspersed with complex human anatomy.
Zul'ra carefully studied the contents of the Holy Book and found the training program for Paladin, which included a detailed explanation of rage. Priest, who specialize in studying the mysterious powers of the human body, would naturally not overlook this power.
The Priest believed that anger was an emotional force originating from the Chakra of Punishment within the body, located in the heart area. This differed from Zul'ra's view of adrenaline, but was similar. The heart is the power source of blood, and adrenaline accelerates blood flow and heartbeat to obtain more energy.
Centered around the Chakra of Punishment, Priest believed they could dispel the Warrior's anger, replacing it with passion and justice to control it, and then call upon the Light to aid in battle. Their theory succeeded, and Paladin were born.
Paladin are trained similarly to Monk, requiring years of physical and mental training. Unlike Priest, they do not need to serve the Light year-round, but they do receive baptism like Priest to gain the ability to invoke the Light.
After being baptized, Paladin must not only rid themselves of anger but also show devotion to the Light. The requirements for controlling their will are very strict. Their training is about fighting, rather than learning, practicing doctrines and gaining insights like Priest. However, they cannot do without the four essentials of faith, understanding, practice and realization.
Because cultivation is a battle, one must fight, find reasons to fight, maintain one's devotion to the Light in battle, not excessively pursue power, and not let one's will falter. Therefore, those who cultivate the path of the Paladin must experience too many twists and turns, and many Paladin fall into darkness as a result.
Zul'ra carefully deconstructed the path of the Paladin and then conducted some experiments. He tried to weave the light of the Sacred Pool using Arcane methods, which was also a sudden idea of his. It should be noted that it is not only Priest and Paladin who use light, but also Druid.
Zandalar did not possess the knowledge of Druid using sun, moon, and starlight spells. Zul'ra estimated that the Druid ' knowledge of these spells likely originated from Arcane. The Night Elves of that era were extremely secretive about Arcane knowledge, which is why the Yaungol were unaware of it.
Zul'ra's experiment of manipulating the Sacred Pool's light using Arcane went smoothly. The light was woven into various shapes according to his ideas. Night Elves Druid used this method to manipulate the light of the sun, moon, and stars, and Blood Elves should also use this method to draw upon the Light of the Naaru and store it within their Blood Knights for use.
Besides the principles of Druid and Blood Knights, Zul'ra also discovered something not mentioned in the Holy Book: the training of Paladin. Their training is combat, and in combat they summon the Light. Over time, their bodies will be affected by the Light, allowing them to unleash holy damage on enemies with every move.
In a way, the training path of Paladin is similar to that of Monk. However, the Monk seeks to protect his own heart, while the Paladin seeks justice and truth. Both are seeking the essence of combat, so they can be said to arrive at the same goal through different paths.
Based on all available knowledge, Zul'ra quickly compiled the Paladin training process into a book and incorporated the ideas of the Monk. His ideas were incompatible with those of the Paladin, not because he did not stand for truth and justice, but simply because they were naturally incompatible, so he deleted them.
After compiling the Paladin's pamphlet, Zul'ra summoned Sabra, who was guarding the Sacred Pool, and selected twenty loyal Tooth-Soldiers. Sabra taught them to communicate and sense the Sacred Pool, and then trained them to become Sunbearers. Since their ideology had changed, they could no longer be called Paladin. Tauren called them Sunwalker, and Blood Elves called themselves Blood Knights, so here they would be called Sunbearers, those who hold the sun in their hands.
