Power Struggle
Rommath, standing to the side, had a flickering gaze, while Lor'themar, who was presiding over the meeting in front of the map, found himself in an awkward atmosphere. The Sin'dorei present also gave him strange looks. 🎉💢 ♕🎅
The atmosphere in the meeting room fell silent for a moment. Zul'ra felt herself being touched, turned to look at Bakaji, who was looking at her with a questioning gaze, and shook her head slightly, signaling him not to speak. It was obvious that Sylvanas was stirring up internal affairs of the Sin'dorei, and they shouldn't interfere.
Sensing Lor'themar's embarrassment, Rommath, whose eyes had been darting around, was about to step forward in front of the map, but Lor'themar waved him off. After stopping Rommath, Lor'themar slowly began to speak.
"As you all know, Dar'Khan Drahir, that traitor, was a talented mage in life, and also one of my best friends. He was able to breach Ban'dinoriel because of my mistake. At the time, I was responsible for guarding Ban'dinoriel, and he tricked me into revealing Ban'dinoriel's weakness."
In an instant, the expressions of the Sin'dorei in the room changed drastically. They had all heard about the relationship between Dar'Khan and Lor'themar, and hadn't paid much attention to it. After all, it wasn't shameful for a Silvermoon councilor and a ranger lord to become close friends. However, they never expected that Lor'themar was the indirect cause of the fall of Ban'dinoriel.
"How could this be..." Faced with Lor'themar's confession, the Sin'dorei members attending the meeting looked at each other in disbelief, some unable to accept this fact. How could this guy, who caused Ban'dinoriel to be breached, dare to shamelessly occupy the position of regent!
"Master Rommath..." A Sin'dorei called out to Rommath, who stood beside Lor'themar. As the prince's advisor and the one who made Lor'themar regent, did Rommath know about this matter?
"This matter, I..." Rommath' face was grim. He naturally knew about Lor'themar's affair, but he chose to cover it up. However, Sylvanas exposed it here today, and Lor'themar confessed directly. What could he say now?
"Everyone..." Just as everyone was waiting for Rommath to explain, and Rommath himself was at a loss for words, a shout drew everyone's attention.
"I'm not here today to listen to your irrelevant talk. I'm here to discuss the battle plan. Don't you think that after such a great disaster, your race should unite and cherish every surviving comrade?" Zul'ra stood up, placing her hands on the edge of the table, and looked down at the men and women of the Sin'dorei in the room.
"If you don't have a leader who can command respect, then Amani will withdraw from this war." Zul'ra glanced around the Sin'dorei in the room, her gaze finally settling on Sylvanas sitting in the shadows. She lifted her hand from the table, gave Bakaji and Lostro a look, and the two immediately stood up in understanding.
"And this responsibility lies with you." Zul'ra casually picked up the documents on the table, glanced at the silent Sin'dorei before leaving, and casually added, "Amani will not pay any price for breach of contract."
"Zul'ra Jin, what do we do?" Bakas and Lostro emerged from the dimly lit room one after the other, looking at Zul'ra who came out with documents behind him. They were also completely bewildered, only now learning the reason why the Sin'dorei kingdom had been breached by the the Scourge.
"Whatever happens, it's not my responsibility anyway." Zul'ra felt a little smug after showing off her power.
"No, I mean, what should we do now? Should we go back? They haven't arranged accommodation for us yet!" Bakaji looked around at the Sin'dorei guards who were only eyeing him and asked somewhat embarrassedly. Their lodgings hadn't been arranged; were they really just going to go back to Zul'Aman like this?
"This..." Zul'ra, upon hearing Bakaji's words, immediately looked up at the guards outside the war conference room, unsure of what to do. Was it a bit Recklessness to come out like this?
"Zul'ra Jin." Just as Zul'ra felt embarrassed, a greeting came from behind. Zul'ra turned around quickly and saw an Elves mage walking towards her. He had silver hair and was wearing Archmage's robe. He was one of the Sin'dorei who had been sitting inside. His face looked vaguely familiar.
"I'm sorry about what happened inside. I'll arrange your accommodations now. Oh, by the way, Mr. Mordu just arrived from Dasviser." The silver-haired Elves mage apologized to Zul'ra first, and then prepared to take him, Lostro, and Bakaji to arrange their accommodations.
"Have we met somewhere before?" Zul'ra avoided the silver-haired Elves mage's question and instead brought up another topic.
"Have you forgotten me?" The silver-haired Elves asked, a look of surprise on his face.
"I remember seeing you before, but your name... oh, I remember now, in Silvermoon City, your name was Candiris." Zul'ra looked at the astonished silver-haired Elves, and suddenly a thought flashed through her mind.
This silver-haired elf is named Candirith. He fought alongside me during the Scourge invasion of Silvermoon City, when I was there to support the city. Back then, a female elf named Lianda gave me potions, and I also got my Holy Book from the paladin Myra Dawnblade.
"Yes." Candiris smiled when Zul'ra remembered, appearing quite gentle and refined.
"Things in the world are constantly changing!" When Zul'ra saw an acquaintance, a sense of the vicissitudes of life inexplicably rose in her heart.
"Indeed." Candiris remained polite as she led Zul'ra, Lostro, and Bakaji to the arranged room in the Dawnstar Spire.
Actually, the accommodations had been arranged by the Sin'dorei long ago. Some of the people Zul'ra brought were already waiting here. It's just that they were unfamiliar with the area and were too embarrassed to ask the seemingly petite Sin'dorei for help.
"Zul'ra Jin, is there anything else you need? If not, I'll take my leave now, as I have some matters to attend to!" After dropping Zul'ra and the others off at their destination, Candiris politely took his leave.
"When will you resolve your internal problems?" Zul'ra called out to Candiris, who was about to leave.
"I'm sorry, I can't answer that question. If you need anything, please tell the guards here, and we'll do our best to accommodate you." Candiris's smile turned somewhat bitter.
"No, I don't have many demands, but if you haven't made up your minds in three days, I will take my men back to Zul'Aman. Come back to me when you've decided." Zul'ra looked at the silver-haired Elves with a wry smile, knowing the difficulty he was facing.
"Thank you." Candiris looked at the tall Trolls in front of her, and seeing that he hadn't said anything definitive, she took a breath, thanked him, and left.
"Are you really going to help these guys?" Lostro asked Zul'ra as he watched Candiris leave.
"Why not help?" Zul'ra looked at the towering Nightmare Troll and threw a question back at him.
"They're still fighting for power even under these circumstances." Lostro's tone turned somewhat disdainful; he could tell that today's incident stemmed from a conflict over power.
"Power struggles have always existed, but I think a mature race will handle these issues well." Zul'ra agreed, "The Sin'dorei should be a mature race!"
