At Odds
Sylvanas's plan is to use the Alliance emissaries currently in Quel'Thalas to kill them in Silvermoon City, and then spread Forsaken and Amani's previous assistance to Quel'Thalas, inciting Alliance hatred towards Quel'Thalas. By using both public opinion and financial incentives, she aims to bind Quel'Thalas to the Horde's side. ♘🐺 ඏ🐉
Sylvanas had already devised a plan to eliminate those Alliance envoys: she would use Anvilward, the Dalaran spy who was currently operating in Quel'Thalas and posing as an envoy from Aerie Peak, to expose his spy identity without revealing his true identity as an envoy.
Quel'Thalas has just suffered a great calamity. If news spreads that the Aerie Peak envoys are spying in Silvermoon City, the Sin'dorei will be furious about the betrayal. Sylvanas plans to use the resulting public outcry and chaos to kill the Alliance envoys and silence Lor'themar and his allies.
"Are you sure you want to do this, even kill Vereesa?" Zul'ra wasn't surprised by Sylvanas's audacity. This method of imitating Ban Chao was theoretically feasible, but the problem was that the representative of Dalaran was Vereesa, Sylvanas's own sister.
"Kill them both, that way I won't be a suspect." Sylvanas looked at Zul'ra, her silver-white pupils flashing with a cold light.
"So who do you plan to send?" Zul'ra looked at Sylvanas, whose eyes were gleaming coldly, and almost choked on her breath. Damn it, you're not a suspect, so the only one left to suspect is me!
"Shouldn't you make some contributions to the Horde?" Sylvanas asked sternly. She had even abandoned her own sister; what did it matter if Zul'ra took the blame for her?
"Is this a contribution to the Horde?" Zul'ra wanted to curse. It was good that this matter could be kept secret, but if it couldn't be kept secret and it was exposed later, who knew how big the consequences would be. This woman had gone crazy; she wouldn't even spare her own sister!
"I don't need you to lift a finger. I just want you to represent the Horde and go to Silvermoon City when the Alliance envoys arrive." Sylvanas looked at Zul'ra, whose face had darkened, then shifted her cold gaze and uttered a single sentence.
"You..." Zul'ra choked on her words. Sylvanas's words meant that she had already arranged the assassination completely. Whether Sanra went to Silvermoon City or not, she would act according to the plan. She had only come to say hello today.
"Speak!" Sylvanas didn't care about Zul'ra's thoughts.
"When do you plan to act? When will the Alliance's envoy arrive in Silvermoon City?" Zul'ra looked at Sylvanas, who had already made up her mind, and her thoughts raced for a moment before she suddenly remembered something and couldn't help but raise her eyes.
"The Alliance's envoy won't arrive for a few more days. As for my actions, they could begin at any moment. You can't stop me. I'm doing all this for the Horde." Sylvanas looked at the Trolls's changing expression, not revealing the details and timeline of her plan, even the arrival time of the envoy remained vague.
"You're really loyal to the Horde." Zul'ra couldn't help but mock. Although winning over the Sin'dorei would indeed help increase the Horde's strength, this method of winning them over had sown the seeds of endless troubles. And most importantly, it would make him take the blame. But thankfully, the blame hadn't been placed on him yet, so there was still some room for maneuver.
"..." Sylvanas glanced at Zul'ra, her silver pupils reflecting a chilling light, without saying a word.
"What are you trying to tell me with that look?" Zul'ra asked Sylvanas, who was scrutinizing her.
"I will not allow you to disrupt my plans," Sylvanas said coldly.
"Fine, but don't blame me if your plan fails." Zul'ra looked at the cold Sylvanas, her mind racing for a moment, before she couldn't help but smile.
"Why do you think my plan will fail?" Sylvanas raised her head slightly, her tone full of accusation.
"Intuition." Zul'ra naturally wouldn't tell Sylvanas that one of her targets was a Black Dragonflight, but the other two, Ashvane from Kul Tiras and Vereesa, were less promising. No one knew how much resolve that woman had taken; although she spoke of her plan solemnly today, only a ghost knew what she was really thinking!
"Then look with your bright, beautiful eyes!" Sylvanas retorted sarcastically, "Intuition" and "sixth sense" are generally women's prerogatives.
"Sylvanas, would you mind if I asked you your current gender?" Zul'ra ignored the Undead Queen's veiled sarcasm and retaliated.
"Instead of wasting your time, you should think about what you would do if I failed," Sylvanas said with a nasal snort, coldly changing the subject. Such mutual mockery was utterly pointless.
"My stance has always been the same: if we can't win over the Sin'dorei, we'll just have to give up. As long as we don't let them join the Alliance, that's fine." Zul'ra spread her hands.
"And what's your method?" Sylvanas countered. The Sin'dorei had a history with the Alliance, so how could she prevent them from joining the Alliance, especially given the Alliance's overtures?
"Do you think the Sin'dorei have to join a faction right now? They are indeed weakened, but because of that, what leverage do they have to enter factional struggles without an urgent crisis?" Zul'ra said dismissively.
"Is their only hope to protect themselves?" Sylvanas spoke calmly. Although she didn't want to admit it, Zul'ra's words did indeed hit the nail on the head regarding the Sin'dorei's situation. With the help of the Amani and the Forsaken, as well as the indirect request from the Warchief Horde, the Sin'dorei were indeed considering a neutral stance to recuperate.
"Of course not. I will also have people spread the news about the war to retake Silvermoon City, so that the Alliance knows about the Sin'dorei's connection with us. Do you think the Alliance will still accept the Sin'dorei under such suspicion?" Zul'ra threw out another plan.
"So, people like you can only ever rely on other people's choices, and can't fight for what you want for yourself." Sylvanas spat out with vicious disdain. In her eyes, Zul'ra's plan was cowardly and powerless.
"Not everything in this world will be rewarded if you take the initiative. And just like you, others also want to take the initiative. Sylvanas, you are forcing others to bear things that you yourself do not want to bear. The end result of this will only lead you step by step into the abyss."
Zul'ra was annoyed by Sylvanas's disdain, but she still patiently advised her, though her tone might have been a bit harsh. Sylvanas, feeling humiliated by his second criticism of her behavior, and recalling some painful memories, suddenly stood up from her seat.
"Then Zul'ra Jin, let's see if I'm the one who ends up in the abyss, or if you die with your ridiculous ideas." Sylvanas strode up to the still-seated Trolls, looking down into his bright green eyes, and spoke at lightning speed.
"And remember this: if you die, I will make you clearly feel the pain I once inflicted, and forever submit to my feet." Sylvanas finished speaking through gritted teeth, then turned and left.
