Lordaeron's Upheaval
Following the war in which the Forsaken, Amani, and Quel'Thalas joined forces to retake Silvermoon City, one of the towns that participated in the war, the Giant Deer Army, responded to Zul'ra's call and did not return to Zul'Aman. Instead, led by Cook and Bakaji, they continued north to Northrend to prepare for future conquests. 💥😺 ♧☮
The journey to the Giant Deer Army, a town near Cook, was not smooth. Winter was approaching, the sea route to Northrend was unclear, and they also needed to manage the transit port on Isle of Quel'Danas. Their progress was difficult.
Cook first had the Giant Deer Army rest in Quel'Danas, and then sent an advance fleet of ships to Northrend to explore. The advance team spent more than two months, with the ships traveling along the coast and the personnel exploring on land. Finally, they found a coastline in the far north of Northrend where a dock could be built.
From the local native Furbolgs, the Amani advance team learned that the place they had chosen was the Eastwind Coast of Grizzly Hills. Apart from the Furbolgs and some strange Dwarves, there were not many intelligent creatures nearby, so they easily declared the territory their own.
After successfully finding a reliable dock, Cook's Giant Deer Army, with the help of ships, began to land in Northrend, obtaining materials to build ports and stockpile supplies. At the same time, they once again sent advance teams inland to contact other local residents and inquire about the the Scourge.
The advance team made contact with the local Furbolgs and the Dakkalai Ice Trolls of their own Horde in Northrend, and learned from them that most of Northrend had fallen to the the Scourge.
The Scourge are rampaging unchecked, attacking the Taunka in the west and the Ice Trolls in the east. Dwarves, Vrykul, Tuskarr —anything alive is within their attack range. The Dakkalai Horde's Drak'Tharon Keep has already fallen, Ice Trolls immense pressure. They have immediately sought help from the Cook's forces.
Cook, who only had the army of one town under his command, dared not rashly agree to the situation. He sent Bakaji, his adjutant, to observe the the Scourge and the Dakkalai Trolls, to assess the combat strength of both sides, and then make a plan.
Bakaji had previously responded to Zul'ra's orders to support Defias in building up their military, so he had a keen eye for opportunity. He led a small force to fight against scattered Undead groups and easily achieved victory.
After their victory, Bakaji summarized the situation of the the Scourge. The Undead had no emotions and were excellent soldiers. When faced head-on, they would devour the enemy like a tsunami. However, because they were also mindless, it was not difficult to defeat them. Even if they could not be defeated, they could defend themselves with fortifications.
After assessing the the Scourge's fighting strength, Bakaji believed that Zuldrak should be safe. As long as he guarded against the burrowing Nerubians and the flying Undead, even if he couldn't win, he could protect himself. However, after watching a battle between Ice Trolls and Undead, he changed his mind.
"Seeing those Dakkalai wielding bone and stone weapons, Charge at the Undead with almost no armor, and then waiting to heal themselves after the Charge, I was reminded of the Amani'lai Dakkalai. I have to admit, those guys were brave and fearless, but also incredibly stupid. We have to thank Zul'ra Jin; his greatest achievement was making us stop being so stupid."
"If the Dakkalai don't correct their ways and remain fixated on eliminating the invading the Scourge, they will eventually become part of Northrend the Scourge themselves. The Amani currently lack the strength to provide them with sufficient assistance. If they persist in this course of action, the only outcome will be that we join the the Scourge alongside them."
The above are Bakaji's original words. The Scourge's weakness is obvious, but the Ice Trolls cannot grasp this point. They do not have the strength to eliminate the the Scourge, yet they are obsessed with eliminating the the Scourge, getting caught in a long-term stalemate and attrition with the the Scourge. Their defeat is only a matter of time. The Giant Deer Army cannot help them. If they forcefully help, they will only drag themselves down with them.
After receiving timely intelligence from Bakaji, Cook realized the seriousness of the situation. He immediately organized the large amount of information at hand and wrote a letter to Zul'ra, asking for the next instructions. His words were full of concern about the situation. Once the the Scourge wiped out Northrend, it might sweep across the world next.
Zul'ra remained noncommittal regarding Cook's concerns. Although the the Scourge posed a threat, wiping out Northrend wouldn't be easy. If he remembered correctly, Northrend was truly a land of dragons, with Northrend of all five colors. They might not care about the Undead, but could Undead ignore them if they came knocking?
Because of Cook's letter, Zul'ra could no longer stay in Silvermoon City and had to return to Zul'Aman. However, before he left, Lor'themar personally gave him a message: Ashbringer Alexandros and Grand General Abbendis were dead, and the Scarlet Crusade had split.
The death of Alexandros was like the collapse of the Soviet Union that triggered the upheavals in Eastern Europe. The death of this Ashbringer supported the Scarlet Crusade allowed the the Scourge to launch attacks on the various camps of the Scarlet Crusade, and General Alfred Abbendis was also killed in action.
After losing Alexandros and Abbendis in succession, conflicts arose among the remaining high-ranking commanders of the Scarlet Crusade. At this time, after suffering many hardships and seemingly going mad Fairbanks finally escaped back to Hearthglen and revealed the truth about the death of Ashbringer.
Fairbanks recounts witnessing his father's murder, but his near-madness raises suspicions. Renault, with the support of Mograine's adopted daughter Sally Whitemane, defends himself. Ultimately Dathrohan, replacing Abbendis, intervenes and has Fairbanks imprisoned, thus smoothing things over.
The matter didn't end after Fairbanks was imprisoned. Because the Scarlet Crusade had suffered heavy casualties, Baron Maxwell Tyrosus, a high-ranking member, once again proposed recruiting other races into the Scarlet Crusade. He had made this proposal many times before, but each time it had been rejected.
As before, Tyrosus's proposal was rejected. The new Scarlet Crusade commander, Bricia Abbendis, even accused him of cowardice, which greatly displeased Tyrosus. A heated argument ensued, escalating the conflict.
Finally, Tyrosus could no longer tolerate it, condemning the Scarlet Crusade's increasingly insane behavior and announcing his withdrawal from the organization. He took those who were willing to follow him and raised the banner of the Argent Dawn. With the advent of the Argent Dawn, the remnants of the Order of the Silver Hand of Lordaeron became history.
After reviewing the intelligence about the Scarlet Crusade's split, Zul'ra also handed over information about the the Scourge's rampage in Northrend to Lor'themar.
Due to factional reasons, Zul'Aman was not very familiar with the situation in Lordaeron, but Quel'Thalas was different. As soon as Lor'themar received the news, he relayed it to Zul'ra, who was in Silvermoon City. He did this with a purpose.
The split between the Argent Dawn and the Scarlet Crusade has left the forces fighting the the Scourge in the Eastern Kingdoms vulnerable. The Scourge is expected to resurge in a very short time and could very well threaten Silvermoon City, which Quel'Thalas has just recaptured.
Lor'themar told Zul'ra about the Scarlet Crusade's split, implying that Zul'Aman was also within the the Scourge's threat range, hoping that Amani would take the initiative to propose an alliance with Quel'Thalas. However, he did not expect that Zul'ra would throw news of the the Scourge's rampage in Northrend back at him.
If the the Scourge gains power in Northrend and sweeps across the world, it will be a huge catastrophe. After hearing about Zul'ra's news, Lor'themar, after careful consideration, immediately expressed that he would immediately Forsaken and offered to join forces with Amani to fight against the the Scourge.
Zul'ra understood Lor'themar's psychology perfectly. However, just as Lor'themar needed to take the initiative, Sanra also needed to. Silvermoon City's vulnerability made Lor'themar yield first, and Sanra won.
After using the possibility of an expanded the Scourge to provoke Lor'themar into seeking an alliance, Zul'ra did not refuse. Instead, while agreeing, he also pointed out that Amani would soon face enormous pressure and would need many things, including the cooperation project agreed upon with Quel'Thalas.
In response to Zul'ra's words, Lor'themar was very astute and immediately assured that the first batch of hired Sin'dorei personnel would arrive as soon as possible and that he would do his utmost to cooperate with the Amani operation in order to combat the the Scourge.
With Lor'themar's assurance, Zul'ra nodded in satisfaction. After solemnly replying with the slogan "Fight against the the Scourge," she bid him farewell and used teleportation to return directly to Zul'Aman. Amani was truly about to face immense pressure.
There's nothing left at night.
