Continuum Blade
"What? You're saying you're not from this timeline?" Chromie looked at Zul'ra in surprise. 🌷🐙 ♪♟
"Yes, to be precise, I am from the twenty-fifth year of the Dark Portal, preparing to travel to the southeastern rocky mountains of Tanaris to undergo the dragon's trial and obtain the Scepter of the Shifting Sands. I am the strategist for the upcoming Second War of the Shifting Sands." Zul'ra looked at the surprised Chromie and nodded slightly.
From Chromie's reaction, Zul'ra could see that in the eyes of the Bronze Dragons, he was not an anomaly, but rather a normal historical figure in need of protection. But that made sense; in countless timelines, Thrall might have been Blackmoore's assistant in his quest to dominate the world, and the Alexstrasza Alexstrasza might have been a tyrannical dragon. Compared to that, he, Trolls, was truly insignificant.
Because he was insignificant and unremarkable, Zul'ra voluntarily revealed his identity to Chromie and accepted its employment to protect the history he knew. His reward was for Chromie to send him back to where and when he belonged.
"But why are you here?" Chromie was quite surprised. Why would the person who prepared to command the Second War of the Shifting Sands the Dark Portal twenty-five years ago appear in Andorhal, twenty-five years before the Dark Portal?
"I don't know either. I was with my companions, the other commanders and strategists from the Second War of the Shifting Sands. We were going to take the dragon's test and get the Scepter of the Shifting Sands to break the seal on the insectoids, but we ended up in a cave and ended up here in the blink of an eye." Zul'ra couldn't explain her situation either.
"I'm a bit confused myself right now, but I've heard your legends from some guys, so I recognized you, Chromie. I hope you can help me, and of course, I'll help you in return."
"Never mind that, things are more important now. Help me first, and I'll help you get back to where you were later." Chromie couldn't understand Zul'ra's situation, but hearing his words about helping each other, she instantly remembered her priority. She needed to ensure the historical progress first, and the reward this mercenary required was unexpectedly light, so she didn't need to bother searching for antiques anymore.
"Then it's a deal. You'd better get me a reliable identity first. I can't exactly protect an Elves in human form!" Zul'ra smiled as she looked at the straightforward Chromie.
"Oh, that's true. Your transformation technique isn't very sophisticated. I saw through it at a glance. It wouldn't be good if you were exposed to those Elves. Come on, watch this!" Chromie, hearing Zul'ra's words, couldn't help but think of something and waved his hand, releasing a beam of golden light.
A golden light, seemingly composed of countless fine dust particles, surrounded Zul'ra, instantly erasing her original human form and replacing it with the appearance of a High Elves elf with a goatee.
"Now, Zul'ra, go and defend our history!" Chromie pointed in a direction.
"Can I get rid of this beard?" Zul'ra touched his black hair, looked at his Elves- style silk cotton clothes, and then touched the real beard on his chin. He asked somewhat uncomfortably, as he wasn't used to having a beard.
"My warrior, can you stop being so picky?! If you keep dawdling, our historical figures might die!" Chromie's green eyes were filled with anxiety; he was so impatient he wanted to jump up and down.
"Alright, alright, another weapon!" Zul'ra scratched his head as he looked at the anxious little girl. He realized that his current appearance was created by magic, but it was completely real. At this height, he couldn't use his original Snake Spear or Forest Sword.
"I'm really scared of you, just you wait." Chromie had a terrible headache, but she had no choice but to comply and use a teleportation spell to disappear from the spot.
"You didn't even ask me what kind of weapon I needed?" Zul'ra looked at the vanished Chromie and couldn't help but admire the Bronze Dragons's swift and decisive actions. As expected of the Guardian of Time, he knew that every moment was precious.
"Alright, here you go. I'm going to check on the results of your operation. See you later." Just as the teleportation light on Chromie disappeared, another beam of teleportation light shone in front of him, and a strangely shaped sword flew out from within the light.
"What's this weapon called?" Zul'ra took the strangely shaped longsword. The blade was purple and slightly curved, but it was double-edged. The blade was forked at the hilt and had barbs inside the curved edge. The whole thing looked like a slender flame.
"Continuum Blade, call me whatever you want, just complete the mission..." The voice vanished completely in the teleportation light.
"Alright!" Zul'ra looked at Chromie, who had completely disappeared, shrugged slightly, and then walked in the direction she had pointed earlier.
Following Chromie's instructions, Zul'ra passed through a dense jungle and sure enough, a river appeared before him. On the other side of the river, a blond Elves boy was fishing with a rod. He had a handsome face and was none other than Lirath, whom Zul'ra had seen before.
"Hey bro, where are you from?" Lirath, holding his fishing rod, greeted the guy who emerged from the jungle on the other side of the river with familiarity.
"I'm lost. Where am I?" Zul'ra raised the Continuum Blade in her hand, not revealing her identity, but speaking first.
"This is near Windrunner Village. Are you out hunting?" Lirath looked at his sword-wielding, dark-haired compatriot with great interest.
"I was bored, so I came out for a walk. Did you find anything?" Zul'ra put the Continuum Blade behind her back, glanced at the fishing rod in Lirath's hand, and casually started a conversation.
"Not much. There's a war going on in the south right now. I originally wanted to join the army, but my sister wouldn't let me. Oh, by the way, my name is Lirath. What's yours?" Lirath looked at Zul'ra, who seemed embarrassed as he hid his weapon. While making some guesses in his mind, he gave him his name.
"Legolas, you want to join the army too!" Zul'ra introduced herself, seemingly unintentionally sending a message to the cheerful young man opposite her, presenting herself as an Elves who also wanted to join the army.
"Of course, being a soldier is cool, isn't it?" Lirath replied matter-of-factly.
"Yes! And you can get a salary and have the chance to become a big shot, that's pretty good, don't you think!" Zul'ra said casually, looking at the shimmering river surface.
"Hmm." Lirath, unsure how to answer Zul'ra who seemed preoccupied, gave a somewhat vague reply.
"I'm going to jump across." Zul'ra looked up at the Elves boy, who was no longer as gloomy and depressed as he would later become, greeted him, and then leaped across the river.
"It's a bit wide, and there's more ahead..." Lirath was lost in thought when he heard Zul'ra's words and hurriedly reminded her, but before he could finish speaking, he saw Zul'ra's body had already landed beside him.
