Kael'thas is the elder son of King Anasterian Sunstrider and the older brother of Karen Sunstrider. His extraordinary advancement and fire specialization left Karen feeling inferior during his early life, despite Kael'thas personally treating him with warmth and concern. 1 2

He established himself in Dalaran, where he holds a high-ranking position and maintains a mage tower. When Karen arrived there, Kael'thas personally received him, brought him into his home, and urged him to rest rather than continue harming himself through reckless training. 2
