History

Crouching Dragon Ravine was formerly the site of Flower Territory's annual hunt. The Curse Cult crisis forced the hunt's cancellation, leaving the area crowded with magical beasts and independent monster tribes. Its lack of established defenses made it an “empty shell” rather than an immediately valuable fief 24.

Edward appointed Lin Lei as a kingdom baron and granted him territory encompassing one hundred kilometers around Crouching Dragon Ravine and the Gloomy Forest. Lin Lei declined Aierlan's offer to manage her inherited land instead, choosing to develop the dangerous ravine himself 24.

When Lin Lei arrived with soldiers and purchased slaves, the ravine still bore the aftermath of undead warfare: scorched ground and corpses that had taken soldiers half a day to burn. The new settlers initially slept outdoors while basic homes were built, with Lin Lei distributing game meat to establish trust and morale 26.

The territory's early survival depended on resource extraction, agriculture, and the incorporation of nearby peoples. Lin Lei brought the Goblin camp under his rule as Green Goblin Town, making it the ravine's first vassal territory and a source of timber, ore, furs, and Bugbear warriors 29 33.

A major joint human-Goblin sweep later cleared the surrounding area of magical beasts and hostile tribes. The operation triggered the Kobold tribe's retaliation, including its attempt to use a Platinum-tier Granite Golem against Lin Lei's forces. The golem was destroyed, and the subsequent conflict ended with the defeat of the Kobold tribe and the discovery of a refined iron ore vein 34 37 39.

Population and Housing

• Lin Lei initially populated the ravine with slaves, promising that diligent subjects could earn freedom for themselves and their descendants 26.
• The population exceeded 10,000 after repeated purchases and resettlement efforts 42.

Agriculture and Livestock
