The Blacklight Fleet, speeding through the Webway, soon arrived at the Macragge sector. It must be said that there is a reason why the future Khan enjoys racing through the Webway rather than going home; it is truly exhilarating.
The Blackwatch fleet sailed slowly toward Macragge, the heart of the sector, escorted by a line of Ultramarines warships. "I told you, this kid, Old Thirteen, is alright. Using so many fleets just to escort us."
On the bridge of the Blacklight, Hogg looked at the surrounding Ultramarines fleet, green with envy. Guilliman hadn't been back for long, yet his family assets were already this substantial. If he were given more time, wouldn't he be heaven-defying?
Unlike the naive Hogg, Lyla Lynn, as a former Legion Commander, saw through the intentions of the Ultramarines. If it were merely an escort, the current number of ships was far too high; it looked more like surveillance. The steady Lyla Lynn saw the clues.
"Father! Isn't the Ultramarines' escort fleet a bit too large?"
"Too large? It's fine! Don't worry, I understand what you mean. Don't go down there for a while; stay on the Blacklight and keep an eye on the situation."
"Yes, Father."
The fleet docked at the spaceport, and the group took a shuttle to the landing pad on Macragge. As the hatch opened, Hogg saw his brother, Guilliman, looking at him from across the red carpet. A glance confirmed it.
[It's a wealthy dog;]
[Not here to cause trouble]:
Without a word, the two men broke away from their respective entourages and walked toward each other. On both sides of the red carpet stood Ultramarines in ceremonial armor, along with onlookers from the 500 Worlds, including dignitaries and nobles.
This was the first time Guilliman had seen his legendary brother.
Just as the rumors suggested, compared to other Primarchs, Hogg appeared remarkably "slender," visually estimated at only 2.2 meters tall. Yet, a unique temperament lingered around him, making him seem so... so clear and innocent.
The two Primarchs, one large and one small, reached each other. Guilliman extended his palm politely: "Welcome, brother."
Hogg also grasped his brother's hand: "It is a pleasure to see you, brother."
This moment was recorded by the audience who had been waiting for a long time; it was estimated that this footage would be on the headlines of the 500 Worlds of Macragge by tomorrow.
Amidst the cheers of the crowd, the two joined hands were raised high by their owners. The atmosphere at the scene reached a climax, and the Primarch who had traveled from afar revealed a smile.
Good heavens! He even lifted the great Guilliman up. Seeing such an intimate gesture between the two Primarchs, some human nobles shed tears of excitement, moved by the great brotherhood before their eyes.
"Brother, put me down quickly, this is too embarrassing." A lowered voice traveled between the two. Hogg knew that if he kept this up, his brother might get angry, so he released his grip and followed the others back to the administrative hall.
Sitting in a tea room, cups sized for the hands of Primarchs were lifted by the two giants. Compared to Guilliman, Hogg slumped in his chair without any decorum and said:
"Brother, are you always like this? So tired every day, yet still having to put on political shows for the public."
"Indeed, brother. After all, as a ruler, I must establish my image, though my efforts seem to have been in vain. By the way! I saw Eldar in your ranks earlier. What is the situation with that?"
Hogg, who was frantically adding sugar to his teacup, knew Guilliman would ask this.
"That group of Eldar you mentioned recognized me as their boss, and since the places I govern lack population, I took them in as soldiers. Why? Do you like those long-eared ones? I can leave a squad of Eldar soldiers for you."
As if he had heard some strange remarks, Guilliman denied it repeatedly: "How could that be? As a son of Emperor, I, Guilliman, have no fondness for xenos. Brother, you must be careful; these xenos are fickle and very likely to betray your legion."
Hogg, who had been snickering in his heart, finally couldn't hold back: "Guilliman, let me ask you a question. Suppose, I mean suppose one day, a very beautiful Eldar matron saves you with a fleet and wants to help you work, would you have a good impression of her?"
"?, How is that possible? Although what you said is impossible, perhaps I would have a good impression. But based on your context, that kind of thing simply cannot happen."
As soon as he finished speaking, Guilliman saw a strange change occur on his brother's body; a recording device was pulled out from Hogg's chest.
"What are you surprised about? Did Emperor not tell you that we all have special abilities?"
Hogg was very happy to have kept Guilliman's recording, planning to record tens of thousands of copies for when Guilliman eventually gets with an Eldar chick, and play them on a loop.
"Don't look so surprised, little brother. What do you think our extraordinary appearance is for? When Emperor, our father, created the Primarchs, he added quite a few good things."
"But..."
"There are no 'buts.' As your big brother, I have to educate you on some little secrets of the Primarchs."
In the time that followed, Guilliman's worldview underwent a slight change. Perhaps it was because of Hogg's lack of airs and his bit of political cultivation, but the two talked very happily, and the afternoon passed before they knew it.
In the evening, Euten arranged a family dinner and invited Hogg to join them. Hogg, who held this lady in high regard, gladly accepted.
The huge dining table was laden with exquisite Macragge delicacies. Hogg, standing on no ceremony, ate the food in large mouthfuls, and in a short while, he had wiped the table clean, leaving only a small dessert in front of Euten.
This made Euten very happy, and Hogg also tactfully praised the lady before him, telling her about his experiences and the various policies he had implemented for Alicia to benefit the people. The two chatted more and more congenially, and from time to time, Hogg could even receive guidance from Euten; the scene was as if Hogg were Euten's adopted son.
"Guilliman, I really envy you for having such a gentle mother. Unlike me, when I was young, no one loved or cared for me, and I had to fight with beasts in the wilderness for scraps. It was truly worse than a dog's life!"
When he reached the emotional part, Hogg began to wail loudly, and the gushing tears even splashed onto Guilliman's face.
Confused and with her maternal instincts triggered, Euten walked to Hogg's side and comforted him softly: "Everything will get better. Don't you still have brothers like Guilliman?"
"Ahhh! But I don't have a mother!! And Emperor always beats me (╥╯^╰╥)"
Benefiting from his smaller stature, Hogg threw himself into Euten's arms and looked at her with expectation: "Lady, I really wish I had a mother like you."
Honestly, the charm of a Primarch is truly top-tier, and coupled with his handsome appearance and his very earnest crying, Euten felt she couldn't quite hold out.
"How about this, you can just treat me as your mother!"
Hearing Euten's words, Hogg quickly suppressed his wailing, wiped his tears, and solemnly called out, "Mom!" A helpless Euten could only accept this large lump of a son.
Seeing this scene, Guilliman felt his fists tighten. 'You dog, I wondered why you came here; it turns out you were eyeing my mother.'
