Chapter 6: The Birth of the Primarch's Daughter

After a busy day, Ginny returned to her dwelling in the lower levels of the hive city, a shack constructed from scrap metal.

Ever since Alicia had been purged by the Blackwatch Legion, Ginny, who had grown up as a reserve gang member, had finally broken free from their control.

Without a source of income, Ginny had to plan for her future. Seeing that the construction sites were hiring, she signed up and, thanks to the management experience gained from her gang days, became a proud construction foreman.

Although the work was not easy, the daily wages were enough to keep her fed and sheltered. As she returned home to rest as usual, Ginny noticed a new message on the holographic bulletin board at the street corner.

Limited by her education, it took Ginny a long time to finish reading the notice, but she eventually grasped its content: the Blackwatch Legion was recruiting women in Alicia to serve as Space Marine initiates; those interested were to report to the local office within five working days.

Having spent her life in gangs, Ginny felt that, aside from physical altercations, she had no other specialties, and this seemed like a good path forward.

On the day the Blackwatch purged the hive city, Ginny had seen those black-armored warriors from half a street away. They slaughtered the gang members with terrifying efficiency; neither resistance nor pleas for mercy could slow the rate at which corpses piled up in the streets.

At that moment, she felt the greatest fear of her life. Fortunately, she had not participated in any gang activities that day, so she escaped unscathed.

However, after becoming a proud construction worker, she discovered that those Space Marines were not as emotionless as the rumors suggested.

They were kind to civilians and would even drink and play cards with the workers. There was one warrior with a mohawk who, seeing her small stature, even gave her a pack of delicious food called [Latiao] and told her about the greatness of the gene-primarchs—it was a taste and an experience she had never known before.

"Can I also become such a glorious member?" Ginny asked herself.

Following the crowd, Ginny arrived at the recruitment office. After confirming she possessed basic literacy, she was handed a form and a pen to fill in her basic information.

She entered a room and followed the flow of people to begin further testing. After a blood draw to verify the purity of her genetic code, she was assigned to a dormitory with several other women.

They were told they would be living there for the next month. The good news was that the canteen food was plentiful, unlimited, and tasted excellent.

After layers of screening, only 30 young, strong, and healthy individuals remained to earn the qualification, becoming proud Blackwatch initiates. Ginny was among them.

The group was led into a Stormbird Transport, and with the roar of engines, they arrived at the Blackwatch flagship, Blacklight.

Walking through long corridors, they reached a hall filled with young women much like herself—some were soldiers in Auxilia uniforms, others were civilians like her, and some were tall, muscular women with red ribbons tied around their heads.

"You are very lucky. You don't have to go through the six months of fighting plants for air like those other brats, though some of you have already adapted to that kind of life," the officer in power armor lectured from the podium.

"Next, you will undergo the Legion's augmentation. If you are lucky, you will have the chance to become a glorious Blackwatch, fighting for the lifelong cause of our great father. Alright, take them down; our medical sergeants can't wait any longer." Medical sergeants with a red heart emblem on their pauldrons began their work.

Lying on the operating table, Ginny was injected with a serum and fell into a coma. Her naked body was sliced open by plasma scalpels, and a gene-seed preserved in a test tube was removed from a cryo-box and implanted into her flesh.

Excess tissue was excised, a heart cultivated from her own biological tissue was implanted, and blood vessels were sutured and secured.

The healing ability carried by the gene-seed began to work; the jagged incisions started to close, and blood began to flow into the second heart.

The ossmodula, the biscopea—a total of 19 surgeries divided into 3 parts over the course of a month. Before the third stage, after each phase, they were submerged in high-concentration nutrient tanks. After the implantation of the blood-reconstruction organ, the first stage was concluded.

During this period, the subject's body would grow rapidly, and the basic framework of the physique would be formed. The larger volume provided space for subsequent surgeries. At this point, the bones were basically able to support high-intensity muscle tissue, though they remained relatively fragile.

In the second stage, the fourth surgery, the Larraman's organ, was implanted, continuing until the 17th surgery was completed. By then, the basic physical transformation was initially finished; the ribs would grow into a solid bone plate based on the pre-reserved gaps, and the self-healing ability brought by the Larraman's organ would slowly cause cell replacement and wound healing.

At this stage, the body would absorb more nutrients, and even ceramite particles could be absorbed by the extremely optimized digestive system.

The third stage consisted of the two most important surgeries.

First was the implantation of the progenoid glands. As the organs for Space Marine reproduction, the gene-seeds, having absorbed the subject's experience and partial characteristics after five years, would mature and could be removed to be properly preserved as the Legion's vital foundation. When a Space Marine died in battle, their other seed would be removed to continue serving the Legion.

Second was the Black Carapace. This was a subcutaneous neural-conductive tissue that, once fused with the Space Marine's body, would grow custom neural interfaces across the skin to connect with various models of power armor.

Only after the Black Carapace was implanted could a soldier be called a Space Marine, achieving true unity of man and armor; with just a thought, their power armor system would react.

Of course, as a gene-primarch, one did not need to be implanted with so many artificial organs. Compared to the exquisite hand-crafted masterpieces of Emperor, Space Marines were merely basic infantry. Perhaps some warriors could achieve feats comparable to a primarch.

But a primarch was a primarch—a treasure extremely rare in this galaxy. Even the weakest gene-primarch could not be defeated by a Space Marine who was but a descendant, not even the Word Bearers' primarch Lorgar.

"Open your eyes!!!" Just as she woke from her coma, Ginny heard a voice. Without any reminder, she knew this was the voice of her father.

She propped herself up, her immense strength straining the structure of the operating table. Draped in a white robe, Ginny gazed at the silver-haired giant before her.

He was so handsome, his loving eyes resting upon her, caring for her every aspect, feeling proud of her birth. Her augmented senses greedily collected everything about the figure before her, wanting to imprint it firmly in her mind. At this moment, Ginny found the meaning of her life, and she couldn't help but reach out, wanting to draw closer to him.

"Father!!!"

"Hehehehe, that's right, little one! I am your daddy!" The wild, arrogant laughter shattered Ginny's fantasy, though rest assured, her aspirations would soon be shattered even further.
