Background / History

While at Blue Tyrant Academy, Xiao Wu waits at the academy gate for Tang San and the others to return, indicating her early association with the Shrek group 23.

Xiao Wu initially compares Xuan Qing with Tang San and considers whether an alliance with Xuan Qing would be advantageous. Her feelings toward Tang San are already conflicted, while she is interested in the protection and strength Xuan Qing could offer 64.

As Tang San becomes increasingly obsessive and vengeful, Xiao Wu grows more disillusioned with him. When Sea God Tang San possesses Tang San's body and violently drives away Tailong for harassing her, Xiao Wu shows no affection for him and instead wishes to distance herself from him and live peacefully 73. She later regards Tang San's fixation on revenge with disdain and resolves to remain as far away from him as possible 68 83.

Before their formal agreement, Xuan Qing reinforces Xiao Wu's Chaos Power to better conceal her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast aura 114. Xuan Qing had known her soul-beast identity since their first meeting and concealed her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast aura with a disguise. He later offers her protection and revenge against Tang San and Tang Hao, arguing that they had regarded her as a prepared soul ring. Xiao Wu accepts his proposal and joins him 162.

After joining Xuan Qing, Xiao Wu learns that Tang San's body has been inhabited by multiple souls, including a future version of Tang San. The revelation further undermines her remaining attachment to him 164.

Her position within Xuan Qing's household becomes increasingly complicated. After acting out over her feelings, she is assigned maid duties, including laundry, cooking, and bed-warming; she unsuccessfully tries to avoid work by seducing Xuan Qing 167. She subsequently learns that the women in the Prince's Mansion compete for Xuan Qing's attention and forms a tentative alliance with Zhu Zhuqing 170.

Xiao Wu remains deeply attached to her mother. When Xuan Qing says he can revive her mother if she has sufficient value to him, Xiao Wu eagerly seeks that possibility 175.

Following the conflict with the Tang Sect, Xiao Wu continues to accompany Xuan Qing as one of his disciples. She joins Ning Rongrong in accompanying Xuan Qing while he uses his female identity, Xuan Yao, and remains active among his close household members 241 301.

Personality

Xiao Wu is emotionally direct and outspoken. She calls Xuan Qing shameless after he openly describes himself as driven by greed, anger, and ignorance, yet she is also willing to question him seriously about how long he has known her identity 161.

She can be spoiled and dramatic, especially when asking Xuan Qing for Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Bones or reacting to unrequited feelings 166 167. Beneath this immaturity, she is protective of those around her, asking whether the women cultivating with Xuan Qing are safe 171.

Her resentment toward Tang San and Tang Hao eventually becomes a defining motivation. She refuses Tang San's explanations and actively seeks revenge for his and his family's past treatment of her 162 186.

Xiao Wu is also impulsive and frequently speaks before thinking, a habit that leaves her embarrassed or reprimanded by the other women in Xuan Qing's household 171. Although she occasionally self-deprecatingly calls herself merely a bed-warming maid, she remains proud of her place at Xuan Qing's side and eagerly anticipates future rewards for her cultivation 269.
