Obito's face showed his conflict.

He looked at the ragged refugees around them, despair in their eyes.

Still pleading in low voices.

He simply couldn't bear it.

He turned to Guy. "Aren't you close with Konoha Orphanage? How about letting them go there..."

"Sorry."

Guy raised a hand, cutting Obito off.

"Konoha Orphanage is an orphanage, not a refugee camp."

"There's an essential difference."

"But they can work at the orphanage! At least they'll have food to eat and a place to stay!"

Obito argued anxiously.

"No need."

Guy cut him off again, looking straight into Obito's eyes.

"Obito, it's good that you have a kind heart."

"But remember this: people must act within their means, and above all, never be generous with someone else's resources."

"You think sending them to help at Konoha Orphanage would be good for everyone, but would it really?"

Guy's voice was not loud, but every word rang clearly, striking Obito's heart.

"Do you know what kind of character they have?"

"Do you know what sort of people they used to be?"

"To put it more bluntly—"

Guy's gaze swept over the refugees, his tone growing heavier.

"You don't even know whether they carry infectious diseases."

The moment those words were spoken.

Even the woman standing behind Guy shuddered instinctively.

Her face turned extremely ugly.

One hand instinctively covered her lower body.

Her legs pressed tightly together as well.

Guy noticed her reaction but did not turn around, keeping his eyes on Obito.

"To you, this may be nothing more than a simple sentence, a passing thought."

"But for those children in the orphanage, who had finally managed to settle down, these people could become a tremendous problem."

"Or even a danger."

"This isn't help. It's a burden."

Guy's words were utterly blunt, almost cruel.
