First Appearance Chapter 97 97

Background

Fu Hua recalls a life extending back fifty thousand years, including an early period when uncontrolled power led her to ravage what lay before her. She later fought on the moon, wielded Garuda against the Chimera’s reflection, and assumed her Garuda form again to resist a world-destroying flood on an alien planet. Her strongest manifested form is identified as Fleeting Life: Feather of Ephemeral Dust. 98

For tens of thousands of years, Divine Sound both restrained and protected her. Its long-term influence contributed to Fu Hua developing the principle that a demonized person “must” be killed, but it also gave her an unmatched understanding of how to alter the technique. 103

Her past as a mentor includes Cheng Lixue, whom she saved, raised, and taught to read, play the zither, and practice martial arts. Fu Hua accepted Lixue as a disciple, then left the following day and did not return until Lixue had become a Valkyrie; Fu Hua regrets the insecurity this abandonment caused her. 103

After arriving in the new world, Fu Hua settles on Mount Taixu and is repeatedly mistaken for a divine bird because of her Man-Made Ruin form. She gives Zhao Tuanchen and his guards a basic Body Strengthening Method rather than sending them away empty-handed. 97 98

Appearance

Fu Hua usually conceals her Man-Made Ruin traits when among ordinary people, appearing instead as an exceptionally refined martial scholar. Her appearance and bearing frequently cause strangers to mistake her for a handsome man. 100 121 123

  • Often wears a white-and-ink scholar’s robe. 100
  • Has an upright, pine-like bearing that combines scholarly gentleness with a martial artist’s heroic presence. 100
  • Her Man-Made Ruin form manifests flaming feather-like wings and the presence of a sacred firebird. 113 117
  • Her transformed appearance is sufficiently inhuman that frightened locals have called her a monster or divine bird. 98 100

Personality

Fu Hua is calm, disciplined, and unusually broad-minded. When Zhao Tuanchen approaches her with demands for an “opportunity,” she chooses to help within reason rather than take offense. She similarly treats being mistaken for a monster as an understandable reaction to the unknown. 97 100

She prefers a quiet routine of martial practice, tea, chess, and vegetable growing. Though Little Shi considers this retirement-like lifestyle surprising, Fu Hua finds peace in it rather than boredom. 99 111 127

As a teacher, Fu Hua is formal, patient, and deeply invested in Zhao Ling’er’s future. Her concern over Cheng Lixue makes her especially determined not to repeat past failures with a disciple. 103 107 108

Fu Hua is considerate of others’ boundaries and rights: she turns away rather than intrude on Zhao Ling’er bathing, and refuses to use force to claim scarce lodging in Suzhou. 106 119 However, she is merciless toward active threats, swiftly eliminating the Black Miao attackers at Paladin Inn and overwhelming the Water Demon Beast. 112 143

Abilities & Skills

Garuda Physiology

Fu Hua’s artificial Collapse form grants the attributes of Garuda, an immortal phoenix-like divine bird. 98

  • Can be reborn after death, returning fully restored; she cannot truly die through ordinary means. 98
  • Does not require food while in this form. 98
  • Can manifest enormous flaming wings and travel vast distances through the air. 113
  • Uses fire as both a defensive and offensive force, burning away poison and evaporating massive floods. 143

Martial Arts Mastery

Fu Hua is regarded as a martial arts grandmaster, with Shenzhou martial arts in her original world described as originating from and being developed by her. 104

  • Practices even while heavily suppressing her power; her restrained movements leave afterimages and cover a hundred meters in a step. 104
  • Is proficient with unarmed combat as well as eighteen weapon categories and numerous martial disciplines. 122
  • Can turn an ordinary folding fan into an effective weapon, easily countering Lin Yueru’s Qingfeng Sword, Nine-Section Whip, and Qi Sword Finger. 122
  • Destroyed mountain-sized rocks with casual punches and defeated the Red Ogre King with a descending firebird-like strike. 138
  • Overpowered the Water Demon Beast—an ancient creature stronger than ordinary celestial gods or demon gods—despite its regenerative advantage in water. 143

Tai Xu Sword Qi

Fu Hua teaches and personally wields Tai Xu Sword Qi, the core martial art of the Tai Xu Sect and a supreme Shenzhou cultivation method. She revised it to better suit this world and Zhao Ling’er’s constitution. 110

  • Form Aspect — Includes Guard, Transformation, Initiation, and Opening forms across twenty-one stances, covering both ranged and close-quarters combat. 111
  • Tai Xu Sword Journey — A state in which the practitioner integrates with heaven and earth, transforming surrounding phenomena into part of themselves. 134
  • Intent Before Strength — A flame-qi strike used to pulverize one of the Water Demon Beast’s heads. 143
  • Fu Hua’s knowledge of Tai Xu Sword Qi is superior even to Little Shi’s in matters of modification and instruction. 103

Divine Sound

Fu Hua possesses unparalleled practical knowledge of Divine Sound, having been shaped by it for tens of thousands of years. 103

  • Modified Divine Sound into a path of emotionlessness intended to free Zhao Ling’er from the sacrificial fate of Nüwa’s descendants. 103 110
  • Avoided simply replicating the technique’s harsher mental effects, mindful of the obsession it could create. 103
  • Uses it alongside Tai Xu Sword Qi as the foundation of Zhao Ling’er’s training. 110 111

Healing and Auxiliary Arts

Fu Hua studies local spiritual arts and adapts them to her own cultivation method. 111 112

  • Healed Auntie Li and expelled the gu worms from her body with a healing spell and Cleansing Spell. 112
  • Learned local recovery, purification, defensive, and detoxification spells for practical use beyond her current world. 111
  • Subdued the Jade Buddha Beads and assigned the Buddhist artifact to Zhao Ling’er to strengthen her disciple. 135

Nihility

Fu Hua can channel the power of Nihility through a javelin. 105

  • Bypassed Immortal Spirit Island’s protective formations without destroying them. 105
  • Recognizes Nihility as a power capable of breaking into Blessed Grotto-Heavens. 105

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Eternal Torch — Scarlet gauntlets obtained from Focused Supply; they match Fu Hua’s Man-Made Ruin form. 101
  • Fu Hua: Ordinary Days Stigmata — A set of three Fu Hua-specific Stigmata acquired alongside Eternal Torch. 101
  • Nihility Javelin — A javelin used to penetrate Immortal Spirit Island’s formations. 105
  • Xuanyuan Sword / Key of Domination — A transformable Divine Key that Fu Hua reshaped into a flame flying sword. 125
  • Xihe Sword — The sun-like, Golden Crow-inspired flying-sword form of the Xuanyuan Sword, created through resonance with Fu Hua’s Honkai energy and hypervariable factor. 125
  • Folding Fan — A landscape fan gifted by Zhao Ling’er; Fu Hua later uses it to defeat Lin Yueru in their spar. 119 122

Relationships

  • Little Shi / Herrscher of Sentience / Mo Yuan — A second Fu Hua created when Fu Hua’s soul split. Fu Hua acts as the calmer, more responsible counterpart, while Little Shi is impulsive, playful, and fiercely protective of her. They jointly mentor Zhao Ling’er. 98 99 108
  • Zhao Ling’er — Fu Hua’s personal disciple and the focus of her mission to overturn the fate of Nüwa’s descendants. Fu Hua teaches her Divine Sound, Tai Xu Sword Qi, and a complete combat foundation. 103 108 110 111
  • Cheng Lixue — Former disciple whom Fu Hua raised and trained, but later abandoned too soon. Fu Hua considers their separation a lasting regret. 103
  • Book of Cang Xuan — An armed doll created by Cang Xuan and Danzhu to accompany Fu Hua and preserve her warmth and kindness. It remained Fu Hua’s companion for thousands of years and reunites with her in Suzhou. 124 125
  • Li Xiaoyao — An exceptionally talented youth whom Fu Hua refuses to take as a disciple because of his destined future. She nevertheless teaches him a basic Body Strengthening Method and saves his aunt from the Black Miao’s gu poisoning. 104 111 112
  • Lin Yueru — Challenges Fu Hua after mistaking her for a man at her martial-arts marriage contest. Fu Hua defeats her with a folding fan; the resulting misunderstanding briefly makes Fu Hua Lin Tiannan’s intended son-in-law. 121 122 123
  • Danzhu and Cang Xuan — Longtime companions from Fu Hua’s past. Their eventual deaths left the Book of Cang Xuan as Fu Hua’s principal companion for centuries. 109 125

Story Role / Major Arcs

Mount Taixu and the Descendant of Nüwa

Fu Hua begins in the Chinese Paladin world on Mount Taixu, where she and Little Shi decide to intervene in the tragic destiny imposed on Nüwa’s descendants. Fu Hua’s intended solution is to guide Zhao Ling’er toward detachment through altered Divine Sound rather than directly confront the God Realm. 99 102 103

After gaining Granny Jiang’s permission, Fu Hua formally accepts Zhao Ling’er as her disciple. She gives Ling’er Stigmata as an apprenticeship gift and begins intensive instruction in Divine Sound and Tai Xu Sword Qi. 108 110

Paladin Inn and Immortal Spirit Island

Fu Hua visits Sheng Yu Village and Paladin Inn to meet Li Xiaoyao and investigate Immortal Spirit Island. She declines Li Xiaoyao’s request for formal discipleship but gives him a Body Strengthening Method to establish his foundation. 102 104

When the Black Miao exploit Auntie Li’s illness, Fu Hua returns with Li Xiaoyao, eliminates the attackers, and cures Auntie Li. This prevents the massacre of Water Moon Palace’s disciples that would otherwise follow the Black Miao’s invasion of Immortal Spirit Island. 111 112

Suzhou and the Lin Family Stronghold

While traveling toward Nanzhao, Fu Hua enters Suzhou and becomes involved in Lin Yueru’s martial-arts marriage contest. She defeats Lin Yueru while using only a folding fan, but the crowd and Lin Tiannan mistake her for a male victor. 120 121 122

Fu Hua publicly reveals that she is a woman, ending the proposed marriage. Even after the contest is cancelled, rumors of the Lin family’s “handsome son-in-law” make her famous throughout Suzhou. 123 124

Jade Buddha Temple and Nanzhao

Fu Hua investigates Jade Buddha Temple with her companions, exposes its abbot as a yokai, defeats him, and frees monks forced into conversion by the Jade Buddha Beads. 135

When the Lord of the Moon Sect revives the Water Demon Beast and floods Nanzhao, Fu Hua confronts the creature directly. She burns away its poison and floodwaters, shatters its heads with flame-qi strikes, and ultimately saves Nanzhao from destruction. 143 144
