With a whoosh, we entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in our world.
After we arrived, Son Goku said, "Weren't we only allowed in for two days?"
"That was the future Future Trunks's world. This is our world, so it doesn't matter. We can keep going in."
"System, can Battle-Hardened be upgraded?"
"Yes, host. It costs 50 System Coins. Since you earned it through a quest, it would have cost 100 System Coins if you'd exchanged for it earlier."
"Good, system. Then upgrade it."
"You have 180 System Coins remaining, host."
"Then upgrade it one more time."
"Okay, host. You have 80 System Coins remaining."
Battle-Hardened was now level 3. I wondered how much it would boost me. The increase from fighting constantly had to be insane.
"Let's start training, Son Goku."
Son Goku said, "But I want to teach Gohan to become a Super Saiyan 2 first."
"It's fine, Son Goku. As long as you keep fighting and your base power gets high enough, you won't need Super Saiyan 2. Just keep fighting to raise your base power."
"Okay. Then let's start training and fighting."
Two years passed. "Goku, our time's up. We have to leave."
By now, Wei Dong's base power had reached over 98 million, nearly 100 million. Goku's base power was over 69 million, while, for some reason—perhaps because he'd been training nonstop—Gohan's base power had already surpassed Goku's, reaching over 73 million. Goku realized just how much potential Gohan had.
"Then hold on to me. We'll travel back to Future Trunks's world."
After arriving in Future Trunks's world, we couldn't sense the Z Fighters' energy. "Goku, does something feel wrong to you? Maybe they're in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber."
We used Instant Transmission to reach the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. There was no trace of the Z Fighters inside. Instead, we found two figures and a floor littered with the remains of Android 17 and Android 18.
That's right. The two figures were both Cell, both in their perfect forms. One was the Cell from our world, and the other was the Cell from the future world. They had joined forces.
"What are we going to do, Wei Dong? Their energy is incredibly powerful."
"One Cell has a power level of 4 billion, and the other has 6 billion. No, that can't be right. Cell can't be this strong."
"They're both in their perfect forms. Why is there such a huge difference between them?"
One of the Cells said, "I'm the Cell from your world. I spat out the future's Android 17 and Android 18 so he could evolve into his perfect form. Then I absorbed Android 17 and Android 18 from our world. That's why I'm so powerful."
"Don't worry, we haven't even used our full power. While we were in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, we used our Saiyan genes to keep pushing up our power levels. We'd fight until we were nearly dead, then recover using the Namekians' regeneration ability. That's why we're incredibly powerful."
As he spoke, Cell powered up, his energy rising without pause. One Cell's power level passed 9 billion, while the other's passed 7.5 billion.
"Son Goku and Gohan, are you confident you can handle one of them? To be honest, if Gohan could become a Super Saiyan 2, he should be able to hold off the weaker Cell."
"No problem. I'll take on the stronger one."
The battle began in an instant.
Wei Dong transformed into a Super Saiyan 2, raising his power level to 10.7 billion. But he didn't gain much of an advantage over Cell; they were evenly matched. Wei Dong was doing it on purpose, after all. He wanted to awaken Son Gohan's transformation.
Things were different for Goku and Gohan. They were quickly pushed onto the defensive. Son Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan 2, reaching a power level of 6.9 billion, while Gohan could only become a Super Saiyan 1, giving him a power level of just 3.65 billion.
Goku and Gohan were quickly pushed onto the defensive. Cell didn't seem interested in killing Gohan. Instead, he kept tormenting Son Goku while toying with Gohan. After all, Gohan's power was too low to hurt him.
Goku was soon beaten into despair by Cell, who kept taunting him from the sidelines.
