Just as Wei Dong was about to go fight Cell, the system reminded him that although Cell had reached his perfect form, he hadn't mastered his new powers yet. Killing him now wouldn't count.
"Uh, okay. Cell, how many days do you think you'll need to master your current strength?"
Cell replied, "About seven days."
"Why so long? Forget it, do whatever you want."
"Everyone, follow me. I'll take you somewhere good." I used Instant Transmission to take them to the Heavenly God Temple. Although this world no longer had a Kami, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was still there. This time, Son Goku, Gohan, and I—Wei Dong—would go inside. It'd be embarrassing if Cell mastered his full power and we couldn't beat him.
So I decided to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for two years. That would only be two days outside, so it wouldn't affect anything. But Trunks couldn't stand by and watch. He demanded to know why I was letting Cell wreak havoc. There were already very few people left in the future world—it was practically like Hell. If we did this, would the future world still have any hope?
"Trunks, I understand how you feel, but don't worry. I have my own plan."
As I spoke, I brought out the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and let them enter. Then I turned to Goku and said, "We should go in too."
After we entered, this was Wei Dong's first time inside the Kami's chamber. It stretched farther than the eye could see, and it was much better than my own. The system really was unreliable.
Goku said, "Wei Dong, are you confident you can beat Cell? To be honest, I'm not confident either. Cell has a battle power of 3.8 billion even without mastering his powers. Once he does, he might surpass me. That's why I came here to train."
"By the way, Wei Dong, what was that form you used? It looked like a Super Saiyan, but it wasn't one."
"Oh, that? It's Super Saiyan 2. The difference is that it multiplies your power by a hundred, and lightning surrounds you. But as far as I know, there's no limit to how strong a Super Saiyan transformation can get. You can keep improving as long as you keep training. And honestly, Goku, Gohan's potential is far greater than anyone else's here, including mine. So train hard, Gohan. Maybe one day you'll be able to save Earth."
"Gohan still can't transform into a Super Saiyan, can he?"
Goku gave an awkward smile. "No, he still can't."
"Then teach him how to transform first, Goku. I'll go train over there."
I ran off before Goku could say anything.
Then I began training. If I could raise my base power to 50 million, I'd be set. The problem was, I was only at 37 million. How could I improve that quickly?
I had it: I'd spar with Son Goku. After all, I had Battle-Hardened, so I could keep increasing my battle power.
Once Gohan learned to become a Super Saiyan, I suggested that the two of them attack me. At the time, Goku had a battle power of 800 million as a Super Saiyan, while Gohan had only 400 million.
My battle power as a Super Saiyan was 2.035 billion, a huge gap, so I suppressed my energy.
I lowered it to one billion, and things went much better after that. The training worked well: I could raise my battle power, Goku could improve, and Gohan could gain experience.
All three of us improved. Battle-Hardened increased my power very slowly, but it did increase.
By the time my battle power reached over 44 million, a year had passed. Goku's base battle power had risen from 16 million to over 24 million. His Super Saiyan battle power was 120,000. Gohan's Super Saiyan battle power was 800 million. They were improving so fast.
Why was my own improvement so slow? Was it because of my talent? I was at a loss. Still, over the past year, Goku and Gohan had both gotten used to their base forms. You could say they'd reached full power. Next, they began trying to become Super Saiyan 2 while fighting, but they didn't seem to be making much progress.
A year later, my battle power had reached over 53 million. Goku could now transform into Super Saiyan 2 whenever he wanted, but Gohan still couldn't. Goku was very worried. What exactly was going wrong?
Still, we were more than ready to fight Cell. When we opened the door and came out, Vegeta and the others had already emerged. They seemed to have come to see how Goku's training had gone. But Goku had already shocked Vegeta without even transforming. His base battle power was over 38 million, while Vegeta only had a little over 21 million. What Vegeta didn't know was that Trunks had a battle power of 26 million, even higher than his, though he was hiding it. Even Gohan had a battle power of 30 million.
"All right, everyone. The fight begins in five days. Go do whatever you want." The Androids had also come out of my Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but their battle power had barely increased. It hadn't done much for them.
When I saw Android 18, I instantly moved behind her and grabbed her around the waist. Leaning close to her ear, I said, "The fight's about to start. What if I die? How about we have some fun now? We might all die, after all. And I know you've never tried it, so I'm inviting you to give it a go with me."
Android 18 blushed. "You creep! Let go! Let go! Are you sick or something? Android 16, Android 17, come help me!" Android 16 and Android 17 were already used to this sort of thing. They didn't want to get hit, so they decided it was best to pretend they hadn't seen anything.
