Gaino and Laiya traveled toward Planet Rad aboard a spaceship. After half a month of flight, they finally arrived at Planet Rad.
Laiya said, "King Vegeta really is something. He's sending us to conquer a dump like this? The strongest fighter on this planet doesn't even have a power level of two thousand. What's there to conquer?"
Laiya looked over the information about Planet Rad in her hands.
Gaino said, "Since King Vegeta gave us five years to conquer this planet, that means there must be a fighter here whose power level is well above two thousand."
"Above two thousand? Good. Then I'll finally have a proper fight this time. I've always lost when I spar with you, so I'm going to let off some steam." Seeing how eager Laiya was for a fight, Gaino couldn't help shaking his head.
As expected, Saiyans were all battle maniacs. Ever since Gaino had assimilated the Ancient Saiyan Bloodline, he had found himself becoming more and more eager to fight. Back on Planet Vegeta, he would often seek out Saiyans who were around his level and challenge them. At first, he was no match for them, but as the fights went on, he continued to grow stronger. In the end, he would beat them all soundly.
That was all well and good for Gaino, who got to enjoy himself, but those Saiyans refused to spar with him anymore. With no other choice, he had to spar with Laiya instead. Gaino learned incredibly quickly. After just a few rounds, he could hold his own against her, and in the end, Laiya also lost to him.
The spaceship finally reached Planet Rad, and Gaino and Laiya opened the hatch.
Gaino said, "Laiya, let's hide the spaceship before we go check out the planet. We shouldn't act rashly."
Laiya nodded. They found a cave and hid the spaceship inside.
Laiya switched on her Scouter. It beeped, and she said to Gaino, "Big brother Gaino, there's a power reading over there, and it's pretty high. Let's go see what's going on."
"Mm," Gaino replied with a nod. Then he flew toward the location shown on the Scouter. Laiya was startled to see that he could fly.
She had never seen Gaino fly back on Planet Vegeta.
When Gaino arrived on Planet Rad, he stopped hiding his power. There was no need anymore. Even if Laiya found out how strong he was, it didn't matter. She was his younger sister; he had nothing to hide from her.
Laiya caught up with Gaino and said, "Big brother Gaino, you can fly? I had no idea. You never flew back on Planet Vegeta."
Gaino said, "Laiya, I hid my abilities on Planet Vegeta because King Vegeta is narrow-minded. He wouldn't allow anyone who might threaten him to stay by his side. That's why I kept my strength hidden."
Laiya asked, "Then what's your power level now?"
Gaino said, "Why not check with your Scouter?"
Laiya pointed her Scouter at Gaino. The number on its display kept climbing as it beeped rapidly, until it stopped at 23,000.
Laiya swallowed and said shakily, "G-Gaino... Big brother, your power level is so high! Twenty-three thousand? That's incredible. I never thought you'd be this strong. You're even stronger than Dad and Mom."
"Dad and Mom's power levels barely reach twenty thousand, but you're already over that. You're only five years old, and you're already this strong. In a few years, will you be stronger than King Vegeta?"
"I'll definitely surpass King Vegeta, but we shouldn't make him our goal. In front of the real powerhouses, King Vegeta is nothing. Take Frieza, for example. Frieza could wipe him out with a casual flick of his hand."
"So, Laiya, we need to train hard. We have to take control of our own lives. We can't let other people push us around."
Listening to Gaino, Laiya felt that her big brother seemed to have changed. He seemed more thoughtful now.
Laiya said, "All right. Then I'll get stronger together with you, big brother Gaino."
"Good. We'll get stronger together," Gaino said.
They flew to the place where the power readings had appeared and saw the planet's natives fighting. Two long-billed, ducklike creatures were locked in a deadly struggle. They showed no mercy as they fought one of their own kind.
Gaino and Laiya found a high spot and sat down to watch the battle. The two natives didn't notice the strangers' arrival and kept fighting.
Gaino said, "Laiya, let's rest for a while and let them fight. We can see how these Radians battle."
Laiya said, "They're so brutal. They're every bit as savage as us Saiyans."
"Do you really think we Saiyans are that cruel? We're not cold-blooded animals. Look at them—they're aiming every blow to kill. They're trying to end each other's lives, and they aren't holding back at all."
As Gaino spoke, one of the natives formed a huge Ki Blast in his palm and used it to kill his opponent.
Gaino glanced at the native and said to Laiya, "Do you want to take this one, or should I? Let's finish him off quickly and find the others."
Laiya hurriedly said, "Of course I'll take him. Your power level is already so high. An opponent like this wouldn't interest you. Let me handle it!"
"All right, but hurry up. I sense a powerful fighter approaching us," Gaino said.
"Okay, I'll finish him off right away." Laiya flashed in front of the native and punched him in the stomach. He spat blood and slowly fell to the ground.
"Wow, he couldn't take a hit! I barely even used any force!" Gaino said. "His power level is only three hundred, while yours is over three thousand. Of course he couldn't withstand your punch!"
"Ugh, he's too weak. I didn't even get warmed up!"
"Don't worry. Someone you can warm up on is coming."
A short while later, several natives with decent power levels appeared before Gaino and Laiya. They were around two thousand, which was more than enough to give Laiya a warm-up.
One of the natives said, "Who are you? Why have you come to our planet?"
Gaino said, "We've come to set you free."
"Ridiculous. You're just a little kid who hasn't even grown all his teeth, and you're spouting nonsense."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Radian felt as if his insides had been shattered. Gaino had struck without warning, killing the fool with a single punch.
Gaino looked at the Radian lying motionless on the ground, shook his hand, and said, "What a chatterbox."
"Laiya, the rest are yours." The remaining Radians had seen Gaino take out their leader with one punch. Terrified, they turned and ran.
Laiya saw them and said, "Trying to run? I haven't given you permission!"
Laiya quickly chased after them and finished off the rest with a few Energy Spheres.
