Laiya quickly dealt with the remaining enemies. "All right, Laiya, we should go find the real target now," Gaino said.
"Okay, Brother Gaino! Let's hurry!"
With that, Gaino and Laiya flew swiftly toward a location where their Scouters had detected a Radian with a battle power of over ten thousand.
They arrived shortly afterward.
Gaino looked down at the place below. It appeared to be a castle, built just as roughly as the Saiyans' homes.
"People on this planet sure know how to enjoy themselves, don't they?" Laiya remarked.
"I think the people on this planet are like us Saiyans—they're ruled by a king. See that, Laiya? Someone's guarding the castle. Doesn't it look like King Vegeta's castle?"
"Now that you mention it, it really does!" Laiya replied.
"All right, then let's get to work!" Gaino said. An Energy Sphere appeared in his palm, and just as he was about to throw it down, Laiya stopped him.
"Your battle power is so high that if you attack, there might not be anything left of the people inside. Then what fun would that be? Let me handle it!"
"All right, go ahead." Gaino stopped what he was doing.
Laiya threw an Energy Sphere straight at the castle. With a boom, her attack reduced it to rubble.
Gaino and Laiya hovered in the air, watching the people stumble out of the ruins, covered in dust.
The Radians who had survived that blast were probably the strongest fighters on the planet.
Just then, the King of Lade Star shot out of the ruins and quickly flew up in front of Gaino and Laiya.
His face twisted with rage. "You outsiders are still alive? I thought my personal guards would have killed you!"
"You thought wrong," Gaino said. "You think a few pieces of trash like them could take us down? Dream on."
"Fine. Since you're still alive, I'll finish you off myself!"
"Laiya, I'll handle this guy. You take care of the others," Gaino said.
"No. I want to fight him. The others don't interest me. You can deal with those weaklings."
Gaino was about to respond, but Laiya charged straight at the King of Lade Star. Gaino hurriedly called out, "Laiya, be careful!"
But Laiya and the King of Lade Star were already fighting.
The King of Lade Star's attendants tried to rush over and help, but Gaino blocked their way. "Don't interfere with their fight!"
"What do you think you're doing?" one of the Radians snapped. "Move, or we'll kill you!"
"I like that answer," Gaino said.
The Radian in front of him was baffled. What did he mean?
"I mean exactly what I said. I could just kill you all. Why waste time talking?" One of the Radians burst out laughing. "Hahahaha! Did you hear that? This guy actually thinks he can kill us!"
"Hey, kid, is something wrong with your head? We said we'd kill you, and you say you're going to kill us instead?"
"What's the problem?" Gaino replied.
"Stop dreaming. You're a little brat who hasn't even finished growing, and you think you can kill us? That's hilarious."
"Why do you always judge someone's battle power by their age? The last person who said that to me is dead. So you might as well go ahead and die."
Gaino darted forward at lightning speed. In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of them. "So fast! When did he—?" Before they could finish reacting, Gaino's fists were already pummeling them.
Their bodies flew backward and smashed through the wall behind them.
Seizing the opening, Gaino rushed after them and fired several Energy Spheres at them. Then he flew toward Laiya's battle.
A moment later, explosions rang out, and the Radians were blown to dust.
The King of Lade Star noticed that Gaino had killed his men and froze for a moment.
Laiya seized the opportunity, darted above the King of Lade Star, clasped her hands together, and brought them down in a hammer blow that smashed him into the ground.
"You dare let your attention wander while fighting me? You're asking to die!" She immediately fired several powerful blasts into the crater.
Boom!
Boom! Boom! The King of Lade Star lay in the crater, his whole body charred black. Clearly, that barrage hadn't killed him.
Laiya panted. "You're still alive after all that? You're pretty tough."
The King of Lade Star flew into a rage. "You bastards! I'll kill you both! You're unforgivable!"
Then the King of Lade Star powered up, and Gaino saw his energy surge. He hurriedly shouted, "Laiya, move!"
Gaino darted toward Laiya, but before she could make out what he'd said, the King of Lade Star's attack was already upon her. His enormous fist slammed toward her.
Laiya quickly raised both arms to block the attack, but the King of Lade Star was far too strong. His punch sent her flying into the wall behind her, smashing straight through it. Blood spilled from her mouth.
The King of Lade Star was about to follow up with another punch when Gaino appeared in front of Laiya. He stopped the powerful blow with one hand. Seeing his attack blocked so effortlessly, the King of Lade Star began to lose his nerve.
But would Gaino let him escape so easily? Gaino clamped his hand around the King of Lade Star's fist. The king tried with all his might to pull it free, but Gaino didn't budge.
"What, you hurt someone and now you want to run? Let me return the favor!" Gaino gripped the King of Lade Star's fist with his right hand, clenched his left into a fist, and punched him in the stomach. The blow made the king spit up bile. His eyes bulged, and colorless fluid dribbled from his mouth.
"Not bad—you took one of my punches. Now get ready for the next one." Gaino grabbed the King of Lade Star, raised his right knee, and drove it into him, sending him flying.
The King of Lade Star's body arced through the air, blood spraying from his mouth.
Gaino turned to Laiya. "I told you to be careful. Now look what happened."
Laiya grimaced. "I got careless. I didn't expect his energy to surge so much all at once."
"Remember this lesson, Laiya. You can't go easy on your enemies."
"Mm, I understand," Laiya replied.
"Good. Let's see if that guy's dead." Gaino went over to the King of Lade Star, who was barely clinging to life, and finished him off with an Energy Sphere.
"That takes care of that. Let's see if there are any other natives around." Gaino turned on his Scouter, but it showed no energy readings anywhere on the planet. That meant their mission was complete.
Gaino came over to Laiya and picked her up. "Rest and let your injuries heal. Once you're better, I'll take you somewhere nice."
"Really? Where?" Laiya asked.
"To Earth," Gaino replied.
