Laiya was dazed. What kind of planet was Earth? How had she never heard of it before?
Gaino said, "Earth is located in the distant North Galaxy, at coordinates 4032-Green-877. It's a low-level planet with no value, so Frieza never sent us to conquer it."
"Oh, a low-level planet? Then why are we going to Earth? Can we get stronger on a planet like that?"
"Of course we can, Laiya. Don't underestimate this low-level planet. The martial arts masters there have reached an incredibly high level in their cultivation of ki. We Saiyans train too savagely, so we can't use our ki to its fullest potential. That wastes a lot of stamina, so we need to learn how to control the ki inside our bodies."
"Okay! Since you say so, big brother Gaino, once I've recovered, we'll go to Earth!"
"Sure. Rest up while I go find us something to eat." With that, Gaino flew off by himself. Before long, he returned with a gigantic fish slung over his shoulder and hurriedly built a fire to roast it.
Laiya was still recovering when she suddenly caught a whiff of something delicious and went straight outside.
She saw Gaino busy roasting the fish and walked over to him. When he noticed her, he said, "Laiya, sit down for a bit. The fish will be ready soon, and then we can eat."
"Big brother Gaino, I had no idea you knew how to roast fish. I never saw you do it on Planet Vegeta."
"Back home, Mom and Dad cooked. Why would I butt in?"
As he spoke, Gaino tore off a huge piece of fish and brought it over to Laiya. "Here, try some. This is my first time roasting fish, so I don't know how it'll taste."
Laiya didn't hesitate for a second. She opened her mouth and took a big bite. She was already starving and couldn't be bothered to wait.
With her mouth full of fish, Laiya took a bite and exclaimed, "It's delicious! I never knew your roasted fish would taste this good, big brother Gaino."
Seeing how much Laiya was enjoying it, Gaino tore off a huge piece of fish for himself and shoved it into his mouth. As he ate, he mumbled, "Not bad. It'll do." But his hands were moving without slowing down at all.
Before long, Gaino and Laiya had polished off the entire gigantic fish. They lay on the ground, hands resting on their bulging bellies.
"Ah, that feels great! Besides fighting, good food is what makes me happy. I guess Saiyans really do have a special fondness for eating."
"Right! Being able to eat delicious food really is a pleasure!"
As soon as Laiya finished speaking, she began to snore. Seeing that she was truly tired, Gaino picked her up and carried her into the cave. He laid her down in her resting place, then went back outside.
Gaino gazed at the starry sky and said, "I have to get stronger quickly. My future opponents will only get stronger, and my current battle power isn't even a fraction of theirs."
"Frieza, the Androids, Cell, the Gods of Destruction, the Angels—there are so many powerful opponents. Especially the opponents on the level of a God of Destruction. They're all cosmic-level foes."
"Compared to a God of Destruction, Frieza is just a little bug. They can crush him however they please."
As these thoughts crossed Gaino's mind, his hands clenched into fists. "All right, I'll get started right away. Training hard is what matters most."
Looking at his battle power, Gaino summed up, "Today's battle increased the ki inside my body, but not by much. It seems I'll have to fight to raise my battle power quickly."
Gaino stood up and began training. He threw punches and kicks, twisting and darting around as he changed his attacks in midair. One moment he punched, the next he kicked, then drove a knee forward. His movements grew faster and faster, until the force of his movements stirred up gusts of wind around him.
Gaino stopped training, and the gusts slowly faded with his movements. The noise from Gaino's training woke Laiya from her sleep.
Still drowsy, Laiya walked out of the cave and saw Gaino training. "Big brother Gaino, why aren't you resting? Aren't you tired?"
"It's fine. I'm not very tired. Laiya, go back to sleep."
"I'm already awake. Since you're training, big brother Gaino, you need an opponent, don't you? I'll be your opponent!"
Before she finished speaking, Laiya attacked Gaino. She threw a punch at his face, but Gaino raised his palm and blocked it.
"Not bad! You even know how to launch a sneak attack."
"I learned it from you, big brother Gaino. How was that? Did my sudden attack scare you?"
"You think that's enough to scare me? You still have a lot of training to do, little sister Laiya!" But before Gaino could finish speaking, Laiya swung a side kick at his waist. He dodged it with a quick sidestep.
"All right, Laiya. If that's how it is, then it's my turn to attack!" Gaino suddenly moved in front of her, and his fist shot toward her in an instant. Laiya saw it coming and hurriedly raised her arm to block, but the force of Gaino's punch sent her staggering backward.
Laiya's Saiyan fighting spirit flared, and she charged at Gaino. The sky filled with the sounds of battle as white rings of sonic booms appeared one after another. The clashing and banging never stopped.
After sparring for a while, Gaino and Laiya stopped fighting.
"Get some rest. That's enough training for today. We have to get ready to leave for Earth tomorrow!"
"Okay, let's get some rest."
The next day, Gaino and Laiya boarded a spaceship, locked onto Earth's coordinates, and set off.
The journey from Planet Rad to Earth would take six months. During that time, Laiya and Gaino could enter a sleeping state. The ship would wake them when they reached Earth.
After six months of travel, they finally arrived at Earth. They opened the hatch and stepped out. Looking at the planet before her, Laiya said, "So this is Earth?"
She activated the Scouter. "Detected battle power: 5." Laiya said, "As expected, it's a low-level planet. Its battle power is only 5. Big brother Gaino, where are those martial arts masters you mentioned?"
"Follow me."
The moment Gaino and Laiya arrived on Earth, the Guardian sensed their presence, though he had no idea why they had come.
Gaino and Laiya arrived at a small island and saw a bald old man leisurely sunbathing beneath a beach umbrella.
"Isn't that the lecherous old man Master Roshi from Dragon Ball?"
Master Roshi sensed Gaino's presence too and immediately stood up, becoming wary of him. He could sense the enormous amount of ki coming from Gaino.
"Who are you? What brings you here?"
Gaino addressed Master Roshi. "We're Saiyans from outer space. We came here to ask you, Master, how to use the ki inside our bodies more effectively."
"Oh, I see," Master Roshi said.
