History

Notting Academy

Xiao Wu enters Notting Academy as a work-study student and immediately challenges Tang San for control of Dorm Seven. She defeats him and becomes the dormitory's boss. 4

She then insists on fighting Huo Yuhao. Her agile Soft Technique initially catches opponents through aerial leg locks, but Huo Yuhao recognizes the move and pulls her off balance by the ankles. Although she loses, Huo Yuhao refuses the position of boss and lets her retain it. 4

As Dorm Seven's boss, Xiao Wu is fiercely protective of the work-study students. When Xiao Chenyu beats Wang Sheng, she is prepared to retaliate despite Xiao Chenyu already being a Soul Master; Huo Yuhao instead arranges the duel and defeats him for the group. 7 9

She grows close to Huo Yuhao through their shared dorm life, grilled-fish business, and trips outside the academy. She accompanies him to the Star Dou Great Forest, where both obtain spirit rings and become Spirit Masters. 5 6 9 12

Soul Beast Secret

Xiao Wu reveals to Huo Yuhao that she is a soul beast in human form after learning that he has known since their first meeting. She recounts her past as a rabbit raised by her mother, placing her trust in his promise to help end the conflict between humans and soul beasts. 13

When Huo Yuhao returns to the Star Dou Great Forest for his third soul ring, Xiao Wu introduces him to Da Ming and Er Ming, her powerful soul beast brothers. She defends Huo Yuhao when they suspect him of intending to harm soul beasts. 20

She later witnesses the Ice Empress appear as Huo Yuhao's Soul Spirit. Rather than resent his secrecy, Xiao Wu accepts the revelation and agrees to keep it between them. 21

Protecting Her Identity and Family

Huo Yuhao later tells Xiao Wu that her mother’s remnant soul still exists within Bibi Dong’s soul bone and soul ring. He commits himself to restoring her mother, honoring the promise he made to Xiao Wu. 107 124

He gives her the Immortal Herb Lovesick Heartbreak Red, which conceals her soul beast identity. Xiao Wu successfully plucks it through her sincere love for Huo Yuhao. 125

Huo Yuhao eventually converts Xiao Wu’s mother into a Soul Spirit after protecting and nurturing her remnant soul. 145

Tang Hao publicly exposes Xiao Wu as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast during the Soul Master Tournament. Bibi Dong defends both Xiao Wu and Huo Yuhao, presenting Xiao Wu as proof that the Soul Spirit system can improve relations between soul masters and soul beasts. 189

Later Events

By the time of Huo Yuhao’s confrontation with Tang San, Xiao Wu has become a Title Douluo. She reunites with Huo Yuhao after Tang San’s death and openly shows her affection for him. 327

After Huo Yuhao reaches Level 99 Ultimate Douluo, Xiao Wu becomes more confident and proactive in their relationship, initiating a romantic encounter upon his return home. 330

Xiao Wu initially appears as a fair, rosy-faced young girl with large watery eyes and a long scorpion-tail braid extending past her hips. 4

She is also deeply protective of those she considers her people. Wang Sheng’s injury provokes her immediate anger, even though she knows Xiao Chenyu possesses a soul ring and greater formal cultivation. 7

Her affection for Huo Yuhao is direct and increasingly open. She accompanies him on dangerous journeys, accepts his secrets without resentment, and responds emotionally to his efforts to protect her and restore her mother. 9 21 124
