She accompanies Mu Guiyun and Tang Ya on the trip to Lingdou City, and though her interactions with Mu Guiyun are less flirtatious than Tang Ya's, she is clearly grateful for his help and becomes part of his circle 43. Mu Guiyun's interest in her is partly aesthetic and partly compassionate, and he includes her in important activities, such as the Treasure Appreciation Fair 40.

Mu Guiyun ultimately arranges for a healing-type Titled Douluo to treat Mother Jiang, resolving Jiang Nannan’s greatest concern 78. She credits meeting him as the luckiest event of her life and recognizes the care he has given both her and her mother 78. Though initially hurt by the complications of his relationships, she chooses to forgive him and remain by his side, displaying maturity and trust 89.

Bei Bei

Bei Bei and Mu Guiyun have a long-standing acquaintance as fellow inner courtyard children, growing up together and maintaining a cordial relationship. Mu Guiyun teases Bei Bei about his feelings for Tang Ya, easily guessing his secret despite Bei Bei's weak excuses 4. However, their relationship becomes strained and competitive due to Mu Guiyun's romantic involvement with Tang Ya. Bei Bei is deeply infatuated with Tang Ya; he repeats a grade just to be in her class and constantly pesters her, hoping to win her over through persistence 4 25. Mu Guiyun, fully aware of Bei Bei's feelings, deliberately shows off his relationship with Tang Ya in front of him, pulling her into his arms and causing Bei Bei to feel jealous, despairing, and ultimately humiliated 30 31. In Chapter 40, Bei Bei's humiliation reaches its peak when Tang Ya publicly rejects him, calling him "Student Bei Bei" and then rushing into Mu Guiyun's arms. Bei Bei is left feeling like a clown, his heart shattered as Mu Guiyun calls Tang Ya his girlfriend 40. Despite this, Mu Guiyun does not harbor outright hostility toward Bei Bei; their interactions remain superficially polite, but the competitive undercurrent is strong. Mu En notes that even his own descendant, Bei Bei, has been excluded from consideration as a future Sea God Pavilion Master, while Mu Guiyun is chosen as the reserve elder 7.

Bei Bei remains unable to let go of Tang Ya even as she becomes increasingly close to Jiang Nannan and Ye Guyi; Xu Sanshi eventually tries to persuade him to give up 85.

Mu En

Mu En is Mu Guiyun's teacher, a father figure who holds immense trust and affection for his disciple. Their relationship is marked by deep respect, strategic thinking, and shared ambitions for Shrek Academy. Mu En appoints Mu Guiyun as a reserve elder of the Sea God Pavilion, an unprecedented honor for someone so young, demonstrating his faith in Mu Guiyun's capabilities 7. He confides in Mu Guiyun about the academy's future and his concerns about the other disciples, admitting that only Mu Guiyun remains a "normal person" among the younger generation 7. Mu En also shares personal stories from his past, including his rivalry with Long Xiaoyao and his regret over the Tang Sect's decline 6. He provides guidance and resources, such as giving Mu Guiyun a 15,000-year Black Tortoise Torso Bone to trade for the Black Tortoise Divine Pill, and he approves Mu Guiyun's schemes, teasing him about his motivations but ultimately supporting him 39. In return, Mu Guiyun is obedient and respectful, agreeing to use the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm's spirit ring despite it being a waste for his martial soul, all to please his teacher 18. Mu En also acts as a protector, revealing that he was watching over the group in the Star Dou Great Forest and punishing Xuan Zi for his actions 18.

Mu En offers Mu Guiyun a 400,000-year Ice Jade Empress Scorpion torso bone, but Mu Guiyun declines and requests that it be given to Zhang Lexuan instead 22. He also entrusts Mu Guiyun with a mysterious booklet described as his life’s work and later relies on him through Inspectorate missions connected to the Continental Advanced Soul Master Tournament 22 91.

Zhang Lexuan

Zhang Lexuan, the future Moon God Douluo and inner courtyard head, develops an unusual and intense interest in Mu Guiyun. From their first meeting on the soul hunting expedition, she gives him a gaze that makes him uncomfortable — "like a little girl looking at her favorite doll" 8. She is protective and dominating, assigning Mu Guiyun to stay within three meters of her during the forest expedition, overriding Ma Xiaotao's objections with the assertion that Mu Guiyun is "the future of the academy" and that Ma Xiaotao, as a Soul King, cannot properly protect him 9. Zhang Lexuan's concern for him is evident, and she softens her voice when speaking to him, creating tension with Ma Xiaotao who feels jealous 8 9. Mu Guiyun, for his part, is wary of her intensity but remains polite, greeting her with a smile and addressing her as "Senior Sister" 8. Their relationship is one of senior-junior with an undertone of possessiveness from Zhang Lexuan, which Mu Guiyun finds somewhat unsettling.

Mu Guiyun shows consideration for Zhang Lexuan by declining Mu En’s offered 400,000-year Ice Jade Empress Scorpion torso bone and asking that it be given to her instead 22. Zhang Lexuan later leads Shrek’s team for the Continental Advanced Soul Master Tournament and gives Mu Guiyun an Inspectorate mission on Mu En’s behalf 91.

Ice Empress and Snow Empress

The Ice Empress becomes Mu Guiyun’s fourth Wisdom Soul Ring after sacrificing her origin to him, retaining her independent consciousness within his Spirit Consciousness Sea 52. Initially wary of his background and suspicious that he may be connected to the ancient Ice God, she gradually becomes a close ally, addresses him playfully as her master, and assists him in the Far North and against Gui Mei 52 58 70. She remains proud of her status as monarch of the Ice Jade Scorpion clan and agrees to lead Mu Guiyun toward the clan’s Spirit Bones 52.

The Snow Empress is released from the God-Sealing Platform after Mu Guiyun reaches Level 50 58. Mistaking his Ice Element power for that of the Ice God, she is initially guarded, but agrees to become his fifth Wisdom Soul Ring after revealing that she failed her 700,000-year heavenly tribulation and will otherwise eventually disappear 59. Her sole condition is that she not be forced to call him “Master” 59. In combat, she protects Mu Guiyun and uses Emperor’s Frozen Heaven—Snow Dance, Dazzling Sun to defeat Gui Mei 70.

Ye Guyi

Ye Guyi is a fourteen-year-old Soul Ancestor with the top-tier Sacred Angel martial soul, whom Mu Guiyun encounters while investigating the black mist around Chasing Moon City 67 73. Her parents were killed by Evil Soul Masters, motivating her to investigate the black mist and fight evil despite the danger 67 73. Mu Guiyun immediately recognizes the value of her Sacred Angel martial soul against Evil Soul Masters and persuades her to join Shrek Academy with Han Ruoruo’s assistance 67 72.

Yan Shaozhe accepts Ye Guyi into Shrek as a Spirit Department core disciple, recommending that she spend one year in the outer courtyard to qualify for the Continental Soul Fighting Tournament 73 74. Mu Guiyun offers her accommodation in his apartment and helps her settle into the academy 74. Tang Ya and Ye Guyi develop an inexplicable affinity upon meeting, suggesting a possible connection between their martial souls 76.

Ling Luochen

Ling Luochen is a cold, aloof inner courtyard girl, Mu Guiyun runs into her at the Treasure Pavilion and greets her warmly. Her relationship with Ma Xiaotao is noted to be poor, comparable to "relations between North and South Korea" 41. Mu Guiyun maintains a cordial acquaintance with her.

During the Chasing Moon City mission, she obeys Mu Guiyun’s battlefield instructions and knocks out Ye Guyi to prevent the younger girl from interfering with Han Ruoruo’s withdrawal order 69. After witnessing Mu Guiyun’s Ultimate Ice and experiencing his protection, Ling Luochen develops a strong romantic interest in him, partly because he is the first person in years not to trigger her physiological aversion 71. She later seeks him out at Shrek and joins him when he reunites with Tang Ya and Jiang Nannan, becoming visibly threatened by the number of women surrounding him 73 76.

Other Figures

Han Ruoruo: Han Ruoruo is a friendly and powerful inner courtyard controller who is saved by Mu Guiyun from a fatal attack by the Golden Python 13. She joins him during the investigation of Chasing Moon City’s black mist and assists in recruiting Ye Guyi to Shrek Academy 65 72. During the battle against Gui Mei, she recognizes that remaining would hinder Mu Guiyun and orders the group to retreat, trusting his ability to survive 69.

Xuan Zi: Elder Xuan Zi has a friendly, teasing relationship with Mu Guiyun. Mu Guiyun roasts him when teased and later manipulates Xuan Zi into traveling to the Xuanming Sect to trade for the Black Tortoise Divine Pill, showing his influence over the elder 6 39. Mu Guiyun also brings him food and wine when Xuan Zi is confined for punishment, gaining his favor and trust 38. Xuan Zi later summons Mu Guiyun for the Continental Advanced Soul Master Tournament and stops his dangerous one-versus-thirteen battle to protect the students 85 90.

Cai Mei'er: Mu Guiyun calls her "Senior Sister" and she treats him with maternal affection, feeding him and coaxing secrets out of Ma Xiaotao 1 2 3. Her relationship with Mu Guiyun is warm but not overly intimate, and Ma Xiaotao becomes uncomfortable when Mu Guiyun uses the same address for Cai Mei'er as he does for Xian Lin'er 2.

Yan Shaozhe: As the dean of the Spirit Department, Yan Shaozhe schemes to secure Mu Guiyun as his disciple. He tries to manipulate Mu Guiyun into attending the Outer Courtyard and offers him a storage ring and other incentives 2 3. Mu Guiyun plays both Yan Shaozhe and Xian Lin'er against each other, stalling his decision 2. Yan Shaozhe later enthusiastically accepts Ye Guyi’s Sacred Angel martial soul into Shrek and appoints her a Spirit Department core disciple 73 74.

Qian Duoduo: Xian Lin'er's husband, who remains oblivious to his wife's infidelity with Mu Guiyun. He is overjoyed when Xian Lin'er suggests Mu Guiyun move into their home, showing his naive and loving nature 38. Mu Guiyun uses Xian Lin'er's fear of exposure to control her, but Qian Duoduo is not directly confronted. He later introduces Lu Canglie and his family to the Spirit Tool Department’s facilities 56.

Lilith: Lilith is a destitute ordinary girl whom Mu Guiyun finds unconscious from hunger after the Chasing Moon City mission 73. She awakens with Level 3 Innate Soul Power and, after being taken to Shrek City, is placed in Mother Jiang’s care to help with household needs 73. She later assists around Mu Guiyun’s laboratory and knows of the dangers posed by the Gusilan Elemental Needle 85.

Gongyang Mo: Gongyang Mo is an eccentric Inner Court support-type soul master who joins Mu Guiyun’s Chasing Moon City investigation 65. His Rainbow Dragon boosts Mu Guiyun’s strength during the confrontation with Gui Mei, and he later helps heal Lilith after she is found unconscious 69 73.
