Obito Uchiha

As Naruto Uzumaki made the first move, the battlefield instantly descended into chaos. Yuki Haku faced off against the Three Genin, while Zabuza Momochi fought Kakashi Hatake.

Neither side had any real intention of fighting, so what passed for a life-or-death battle between them was more like sparring. The Three Genin grew bolder as the fight went on, and their teamwork became increasingly seamless. Often, a single glance was enough for them to know what to do next.

Zabuza Momochi fought while retreating, focused entirely on escaping with Yuki Haku.

Meanwhile, Mufeng Uchiha had disguised himself as a rogue ninja and taken control of Gato. Under the Sharingan's Hypnosis, Gato confessed everything.

After Gato willingly gave up the information, Mufeng Uchiha went to the nearest place where he kept his money.

"I thought this would take some effort. Gato really had no defenses at all. Do the ninja in this world all have such a strong sense of honor?"

He had overestimated the ninja of this world and their dedication to their duties. Gato had spent years bullying men and women alike and committing every kind of evil, yet he mostly hired rogue ninja, and not one of them had betrayed him or coveted his wealth.

Gato clearly had a fortune. Even taking just a little would have been enough for an ordinary family to live comfortably for a year.

"This should be enough to get me started. When you're out on your own, you need people to do things for you. I'll spare your life for now. If you don't behave, you'll end up just like this."

Mufeng Uchiha merely clenched his fist. Beside Gato, a rogue ninja suddenly clutched his heart and cried out in pain twice before dying right before his eyes.

Now Gato was truly terrified. This ninja didn't play by the rules!

Weren't we supposed to pay these guys, and then they were supposed to obediently listen to us and carry out our missions? Since when did they start attacking us? This isn't how things are supposed to work!

Where were the Five Great Nations? Why hadn't anyone come to stop this?

"Trying to run? You really aren't very obedient. I can't just let a free laborer like you go."

Just as Mufeng Uchiha activated the technique he had left on Zabuza Momochi and Haku, the space behind him warped, forming a vortex. Three Senbon shot out of it.

"Obito Uchiha. I was planning to come find you, but now you've delivered yourself to me."

He casually knocked away the Senbon behind him, then spun around with incredible speed and reached out with both hands—but they passed right through Obito's body.

Quick reflexes. That old turtle slipped back into the Kamui Dimension just as I was about to touch him.

"What Obito Uchiha? I am the spirit of the Uchiha Clan—the one and only Madara Uchiha. You're strong, young one. You shouldn't be playing childish games here. Don't you want to see your parents again?"

Though Mufeng Uchiha had exposed his identity as soon as he spoke, Obito Uchiha was a born actor. He quickly regained his composure.

But there was a problem. Black Zetsu had said there might be a talented, highly skilled young boy who was good at disguises and could be useful to the Eye of the Moon Plan. That was why he had come to take a look.

But the moment he showed up, the boy had seen through his true identity. Someone this perceptive could jeopardize my plan. He must be eliminated!

"See my parents? Of course. But first, let me send you down to see your clan!"

Mufeng Uchiha suddenly attacked. Even though he knew Obito Uchiha was currently intangible, he still chose to strike.

As Mufeng Uchiha passed right through Obito Uchiha, he left his back completely unguarded. This was Obito's chance to eliminate the one person who might know his identity.

Kamui's intangibility was certainly troublesome, but in the original story, Konan had already revealed the weakness of this Dōjutsu: he could maintain it for only ten minutes.

And Minato Namikaze had revealed another weakness while fighting Obito: to attack me, he has to emerge from the Kamui Dimension. That instant is my chance!

But as soon as he tried to manipulate the blood inside Obito, he lost all sense of it. His Blood Style had no effect on Obito!

In that brief moment, Obito Uchiha activated Kamui. The swirling distortion of space sucked him into the Kamui Dimension. Mufeng Uchiha sensed him fleeing in a sorry state.

"So my Blood Style's control doesn't work on him. It's a good thing he's a one-eyed man. With a Mangekyo focused on defense and no offensive abilities, he gave me an opening."

When he had focused on controlling his Blood Style just now, he had exposed an opening for an instant. If Obito Uchiha had seized it, Mufeng would have been the one to die.

In a dark, damp cave, a strange vortex appeared in the lifeless gloom. Obito Uchiha emerged, clutching his arm, and collapsed to the ground.

"Blood Style? That definitely wasn't a Mangekyo Dōjutsu. He developed a new Kekkei Genkai himself? I've never seen anything like it. Black Zetsu, what's wrong with your intelligence gathering? How could you not tell me something this important?"

The first thing Obito Uchiha did after returning was fly into a helpless rage. Black Zetsu felt unjustly accused.

Mufeng Uchiha had only awakened this ability a few days ago. Even for Black Zetsu, it would have been difficult to report that kind of information to Obito Uchiha immediately.

Besides, Obito Uchiha, that idiot, had revealed the key information about the Eye of the Moon Plan as soon as they met. What a useless teammate.

What Black Zetsu was most curious about was how Mufeng Uchiha had learned that the man claiming to be Madara Uchiha was actually Obito Uchiha in disguise. It had kept a close eye on the two Uchiha orphans, so Mufeng Uchiha definitely had secrets.

While the two of them were talking, Mufeng Uchiha had already taken care of everything and rejoined Naruto Uzumaki and the others.

"Mufeng, you should stop. Take these people back and let the village handle them."

Kakashi Hatake stopped Mufeng Uchiha from killing the rogue ninja and samurai.

"All right, Kakashi-sensei. I'll leave them to you. I'm going to have a chat with old man Tazuna."

He still needed to take care of the Great Bridge. After all, he would need Gato as his puppet and Zabuza and Haku as his bodyguards later on.
