Background / History

Mufeng was a college student in his previous life. He died after his e-bike was struck by a heavy-duty truck, then awakened in the Naruto world as Sasuke Uchiha's twin brother. For five years, he unsuccessfully attempted to avert the Uchiha massacre by warning figures such as Shisui and Fugaku and trying to change Itachi's loyalty to Konoha. Before gaining his later abilities, he considered his aptitude mediocre and knew only the Body Flicker Technique and Great Fireball Technique. 1

During the massacre, Mufeng confronted Itachi with a two-tomoe Sharingan while Sasuke lay unconscious under Tsukuyomi. He failed to save his parents or the clan and was himself incapacitated by Itachi's genjutsu. Only afterward did he enter the Trans-Dimensional Space, where alternate versions of Mufeng could exchange memories and abilities. 1

After recovering in Konoha Hospital, Mufeng concealed what he knew from Hiruzen Sarutobi, claiming he remembered nothing after Itachi's genjutsu. He returned to the looted Uchiha Compound, salvaged a burned Uchiha Style Swordsmanship manual attributed to Izuna Uchiha, and recovered the family's remaining funds and a small number of scrolls. 2

He made Sasuke's survival and development a priority, teaching him Water Breathing rather than allowing him to recklessly pursue Itachi. Mufeng's broader goal is not only revenge, but gathering enough power and allies to survive future threats to the shinobi world. 2 6

Personality

Mufeng is cynical toward Konoha's leadership and deeply distrustful of the official explanation for the Uchiha massacre. He can convincingly feign grief and compliance when dealing with Hiruzen, but privately views the village's treatment of the Uchiha as proof that Konoha will never fully accept him. 2 48

Although revenge drives much of his training, he is more pragmatic than Sasuke. He repeatedly restrains Sasuke's self-destructive behavior, insists that power must be built step by step, and trains Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura to cooperate rather than relying on individual strength. 2 41

Mufeng is confident, teasing, and frequently calls Sasuke “Second Pillar,” but he takes responsibility for people he considers his own. He supports Naruto materially and emotionally, protects his teammates in combat, and seeks to establish Harbor as a refuge and power base for outcasts. 3 38 45

There, he tests the Flesh Melting Furnace on a Hozuki Clan corpse, nearly dies from bloodline rejection, and awakens Hydrification instead.
