Background / History

Naoki arrives in the shinobi world with knowledge of its future. During the Nine-Tails Incident, he is struck while evading a boulder and treated by a medical ninja before Uchiha Zongye and Uchiha Zongxin take him to the Military Police Force headquarters. The incident convinces him that the Uchiha Clan's destruction begins that night, forcing him to choose between leaving Konoha and changing its future. 1 2

After learning that the Nine-Tails displayed a Three-Tomoe Sharingan, Naoki persuades Uchiha Fugaku to deploy the Uchiha against the beast. He argues that remaining in the rear will allow the village to blame the clan for the attack, while joining the battle can protect its reputation. 3

Naoki becomes a trusted adviser to Uchiha Yashiro and Fugaku. He identifies Uchiha Madara—or a successor to Madara's will—as the most plausible force behind the Nine-Tails' control, then gains access to the Uchiha Clan's accumulated ninjutsu collection to train himself. 5 8
