Beigong Mo serves as the Academy Head of Chengtian Prefecture Academy and is regarded as Chengtian Prefecture's foremost martial artist. A veteran Great Grandmaster who had been famous for more than a century, he ordinarily remains in seclusion and leaves the academy's daily affairs to others. 70 71

When Chen An arrives and triggers the academy plaque's Extinction Blade Intent, Beigong Mo leaves seclusion to recruit him personally. He counters Pei Wendao's attempt to win Chen An over by offering to accept Chen An as his closing disciple and grant him unrestricted access to the Library Pavilion. 71

He formally takes Chen An as a personal disciple, promises eight million yuan crystals in annual cultivation resources, arranges Chen An's residence at Listening Waves Courtyard, and enrolls Chen An's companions from Wurong County. 72 73 74 He later gives Chen An a high-grade Earth-tier treasured saber and a hundred-cubic-meter spatial pouch. 75 80

Although he has pursued the Martial King Realm for 57 years, Beigong Mo is not the source of the Martial King Tribulation that descends upon Chengtian Prefecture Academy. 79 He witnesses Chen An's tribulation and, like the other leading figures of Chengtian Prefecture, respectfully greets the newly advanced Martial King. 84

Beigong Mo tests and guides Chen An after accepting him as a disciple. He warns him not to fixate on the distant threat of ancient demons before mastering Lin Chenyuan's blade intent, recognizes that Chen An has concealed his cultivation, and provides him with ancient blade manuals and medicinal resources for the academy examination. 90 He later explains that the Five Prefectures Joint Examination is connected to the Northern Frontier's war against the Ancient Devil Race and encourages Chen An to continue pursuing the martial path. 111

During the Blood Demon Sect incident at Soul Severing Valley, Beigong Mo fights Xue Wuya using pure-yang true qi but is critically wounded when military advisor Cao Bin betrays him from behind. Even severely injured, he prepares to fight to the death to protect others from Xue Wuya and the Blood Demon Sect's ritual. 126 127 When the Devil Emperor begins descending, he offers to sacrifice himself to buy Chen An time to escape. 128

Beigong Mo is left stunned when Chen An, whom he had believed to be only a talented Qi Condensation Realm disciple, reveals himself as a Martial Emperor. Nevertheless, Chen An continues to address him as “Master,” preserving their master-disciple bond despite the immense disparity in their cultivation. 139

Chen An later repays Beigong Mo's early support with an Essence Marrow Jade Ganoderma Fruit and gives him the Thunder Force Overlord Emperor Fist to help him overcome his longstanding bottleneck. 156 174 By Chen An's return to Chengtian Prefecture, Beigong Mo has reversed his aging and appears decades younger, with restored black hair and vigorous blood qi. 218 He later reaches the Martial King Realm, gaining great fame through his connection to Chen An. 219 When Chen An returns after becoming the continent's foremost martial artist, Beigong Mo respectfully addresses him as “Saint Chen” while reflecting on the miracle of his former disciple's unprecedented rise. 219

Before reversing his aging, Beigong Mo is an elderly man with white hair and a white beard, usually dressed in a black scholar's robe. 70 71
