Kakashi Draws Hatred for Yeyu

Yeyu smiled and took the bento box Kakashi handed over. "I haven't actually seen how a ninja squad is evaluated."

The Third Hokage nodded. "Since it's Kakashi's invitation, you should go and take a look."

"But don't act rashly; Sasuke and Naruto wouldn't be able to withstand your presence."

The Third Hokage was worried that Yeyu might casually unleash his aura on Naruto and Sasuke.

Even Kakashi had nearly fainted from it; how could children of Naruto and Sasuke's age possibly endure Yeyu's Conqueror's Haki?

Having received the Third Hokage's permission, Yeyu nodded. "I won't. But I became a Chunin as soon as I graduated; wouldn't it be a bit too arrogant for me to go watch their assessment?"

The Third Hokage paused, then looked at Kakashi and laughed. "Hahaha, that's true. But I actually hope they can turn that emotion into the motivation to become stronger."

"Making you the goal they strive to surpass isn't a bad idea, actually."

The Third Hokage looked at Yeyu and said earnestly.

Watching Yeyu, the Third Hokage thought to himself, Once Sasuke and Naruto grow up, they can become your right-hand men.

"Yeyu, you will understand in a few years."

In truth, Sasuke faced far fewer restrictions in Konoha than Naruto did.

Although Sasuke was a member of the Uchiha Clan and had the potential to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Yet, none of the ninjas in Konoha considered Sasuke a threat.

Not even the Third Hokage.

Be wary of an orphan from a clan that had already been wiped out?

What did they take the Third Hokage for?

The Third Hokage still had to protect Sasuke and ensure that Danzo didn't gouge out his eyes.

The Third Hokage genuinely intended to cultivate Sasuke.

Moreover, many ninjas in the village, including many Jonin, thought highly of Sasuke.

They even hoped he would marry their daughters.

That was why Sasuke was so popular at the Ninja Academy; no one went out of their way to restrict him.

But regarding Naruto, the ninjas in the village had strong opinions.

Those who knew he was the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki did not want Naruto to learn ninjutsu.

They worried he would go berserk if he became a ninja.

He had lost control when he was a child, after all.

If not for the Third Hokage using his authority as Hokage to forcefully ensure Naruto lived like a normal child and became a ninja, the ninjas of the village would never have allowed him to enter the Ninja Academy.

Back when Kushina Uzumaki became the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, she had been confined within a barrier for a long time.

She wasn't released until she had completely suppressed the Nine-Tails.

The ninjas in the village had originally intended for the Third Hokage to treat Naruto the same way.

But the Third Hokage had refused.

Now, the Third Hokage hoped to cultivate Sasuke and Naruto to become Yeyu's future right-hand men.

They were, after all, classmates from the same year.

The Third Hokage very much hoped that Yeyu could become friends with Sasuke and Naruto.

Yeyu didn't leave the Hokage Office until he had finished the bento box Kakashi had brought.

Surprisingly, the meal had been prepared by Kakashi himself.

On the way, Yeyu asked with some curiosity, "The bento tasted good. What made you want to cook for yourself?"

Kakashi replied indifferently, "To save money!"

Hearing this answer, the corner of Yeyu's mouth twitched. "Alright, that is indeed a very reasonable excuse."

"It seems what people say is true."

Kakashi was indeed stingy.

But his cooking skills were truly excellent.

Even with just a few simple ingredients, everything he made tasted delicious.

Noticing a book in Kakashi's ninja tool pouch, Yeyu was speechless. "You actually read this kind of book?"

Kakashi glanced at his pouch and pulled it out without hesitation. "Have you read it?"

"I flipped through a few pages when I passed by a bookstore." Yeyu had indeed flipped through a few pages while passing a bookstore.

At the time, he had been curious about just how good the novel Kakashi was so obsessed with could be.

He had taken a look when the shopkeeper wasn't paying attention.

By his standards, it was actually quite mediocre.

Once Kakashi realized Yeyu had read the novel, he looked at him with a serious expression. "You're still too young to be reading this kind of book."

As he spoke, he tapped Yeyu on the shoulder with the book.

Yeyu didn't say anything.

At his age, he really shouldn't be reading that kind of book.

The two of them strolled leisurely through the main street and arrived at the training ground.

By the time they reached the training ground, it was almost afternoon.

They saw the team lying on the ground, exhausted, including Sasuke, who usually cared most about his image.

Yeyu chuckled, "Kakashi, you're in trouble."

Kakashi didn't seem to mind.

"Just watch from the side. Although your strength is very high, you lack experience in teamwork. You can see how they do it in a moment."

Yeyu went over to greet Naruto and Sasuke and the others.

Instead of joining them, he jumped onto a large tree in the nearby woods to sit and watch.

When Kakashi walked over, he was predictably denounced by Naruto and Sasuke.

Because of Yeyu, Kakashi had arrived several hours later than in the original timeline.

The group was so hungry they were practically skin and bones.

Kakashi's test for them remained unchanged: three people competing for two bells.

The result was also no different from the original.

Yeyu's appearance did not change the outcome of this assessment.

When Kakashi finally announced that they had passed the test, the three of them were so excited they forgot their hunger.

Watching the entire process from the tree, Yeyu found it quite interesting.

Naruto and the others hadn't even noticed Yeyu's presence throughout the entire assessment.

At the closest point, Yeyu had been just over ten meters away from Sasuke.

Yet, he hadn't detected Yeyu's presence at all.

As the assessment ended, Kakashi called out in Yeyu's direction, "Yeyu, come over here."

Yeyu, who had been preparing to head back to the Hokage Office, was speechless.

Why is Kakashi calling me over? To stir up trouble?

Sure enough, upon hearing Yeyu's name, Naruto and Sasuke looked over simultaneously.

Yeyu walked out of the woods, feeling somewhat helpless.

Seeing Yeyu, Sasuke's expression tightened, "Yeyu, just how strong are you? I have to know today."

When Naruto saw Yeyu, his body trembled instinctively.

But soon, he felt a sense of shame.

Damn it, why am I so afraid of him? I'm the man who's going to become Hokage! If I can't even surpass Yeyu, how could I ever become Hokage?

Naruto clenched his fists.

He wanted to defeat Yeyu to erase the fear in his heart.

Sakura looked at Yeyu, wondering why he was here.

Yeyu walked over.

His face was full of resignation.

"Kakashi, there was no need to call me over. This is the assessment for Team 7."

Kakashi smiled and said to Yeyu, "Since Team 11 doesn't have an assessment, it's a good thing for you to come here and learn from the experience."

Yeyu gave a wry smile, "But Team 11 only has me, and the Third Hokage didn't have any assessment for me either."

There was only one member in Yeyu's squad, and given his strength, naturally, no one was there to test him.

Not to mention that the Third Hokage had already tested him the day before.

Yeyu's strength was absolutely sufficient to qualify as a Chunin and Hokage Assistant.

Hearing Yeyu mention these things only made Naruto and Sasuke even more annoyed.

They had worked so hard to pass the test set by Kakashi.

Yeyu didn't have to do anything, was promoted directly to Chunin, and became a Hokage Assistant at the age of twelve.

The Third Hokage hadn't even given him an assessment.

They were all just graduated students; how could the gap be so large?
