Kakashi fell silent. He knew Yeyu was telling the truth.
Few people knew what had happened to Sasuke, and even fewer cared to understand why he was so fixated on revenge.
He looked at Yeyu. "I think it's because you're here that I might not be so determined to talk Sasuke out of pursuing revenge."
"I'm willing to accept his choice."
Yeyu was a little puzzled. "Why?"
Kakashi smiled. "Because you're strong enough. Even if Sasuke harmed the village while pursuing revenge, you'd be more than capable of dealing with it."
Yeyu froze for a moment, then smiled bitterly. "I don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing for Sasuke."
Kakashi was willing to understand Sasuke only because Yeyu was there. With him around, Sasuke's revenge would have limits.
He wouldn't be able to do much damage to the village.
"Let's not talk about that. The Third Hokage told me you've been promoted to Jonin. Congratulations."
Kakashi smiled as he spoke.
Yeyu said nothing, only smiled back at him.
Kakashi looked a little helpless. "All right, this is the gift I got for you."
As he spoke, Kakashi brought out the gift he'd prepared.
It was a custom-made long sword.
The blade was about a meter long.
It was beautiful. Yeyu couldn't deny he was tempted when he saw it.
Not because the sword was especially powerful—it was just a sword, not some divine weapon, so it wasn't anything extraordinary.
But it was certainly beautiful.
Taking the sword, Yeyu channeled his chakra into it. Arcs of lightning instantly crackled across the blade.
"It's made with chakra-conductive material, too."
"Kakashi-sensei, it couldn't have been cheap."
Kakashi leaned back on the sofa and said with a pained expression, "It wasn't. It cleaned out my wallet."
Kakashi was famously stingy.
