Great Ape Transformation

Vast power gathered in the center of heaven and earth. The two Kikoho blasts collided, forming an enormous sphere of light. The energy drained everything around them dry, like a miniature black hole, pulling up shattered rocks, vegetation, and even swirling air from the ground.

Raging tornadoes swept across the land, their lingering force turning the ground into true ruins. Between heaven and earth, only the two figures within the radiance remained.

"Haaah!" Vegeta roared continuously to bolster his momentum. Veins bulged on his forehead, and his eyes were bloodshot.

By comparison, Raditz remained composed. His hands felt the powerful resistance crashing against them, yet he still handled it with ease.

"You've lost!"

With a loud shout, Raditz suddenly exerted force. Surrounded by crimson flames, the Kamehameha was like a starving lion, swallowing the Galick Gun whole before charging toward Vegeta!

The crimson tide of light engulfed him. The terrifying shockwave shot into space, explosions ringing out without end. Everything in its path—low-lying trees and rocks—was reduced to powder.

In the air, the smoke gradually dispersed, revealing Vegeta in a wretched state, panting heavily.

His body was covered in wounds, his hair stood on end, and one arm was clearly not moving well. His clothes were riddled with holes, and there was a black stain at the corner of his mouth, whether dust or blood was impossible to tell. Most alarming of all, the fighting spirit in his eyes had not faded. The power of his rage supported him, keeping him from falling.

"Why did you hold back at the end? Bastard!" Vegeta roared furiously.

"I didn't expect you to notice." Raditz dispelled his Kaio-ken state. "I don't want to kill you, so I won't use my full strength..."

"Enough!" Vegeta cut Raditz off.

His pride had been struck once again. Saying he would not use his full strength—didn't that mean Vegeta still wasn't worthy? It was simply humiliating. Vegeta clenched his fists viciously, his whole body trembling with tension as he experienced, for the first time, the taste of being defeated by one of his own race...

Something that should have been impossible had truly happened. A mouthful of hot blood was lodged in his throat, and he did not know whether to spit it out or swallow it down.

"You've seen it. This is my power. Will you consider my proposal now?"

"Pah!"

Vegeta still spat out the blood. "I refuse! I am the prince of the Saiyans. I will not follow your arrangements!"

In the end, the pride in his heart still prevailed. He could not surrender like a defeated general! Even if Raditz truly possessed some brilliant method to increase strength, he could never simply obey him.

This was the dignity of the Saiyan prince! He could be defeated, but he would never admit defeat!

"To hell with your prince!" Raditz finally snapped and rushed over, grabbing Vegeta by the hair.

What kind of prince was he? Planet Vegeta had already been destroyed. There were only a handful of them left, and none of them listened to him anyway. What use was that title? Enraged by Vegeta's stubbornness, Raditz grabbed his hair and slammed him into the ground.

Vegeta sank into the ground, which had long since become ruins.

He lay spread-eagled on his back, his mouth continuously drawing in the cold air. His muscles were weak and sore. He was exhausted.

Then, he suddenly noticed a round sphere of light reflected in the vast sky. His heart responded with a violent pounding, his pupils dilated, and his blood surged wildly through his body like roaring waves.

A full moon!

No, an Artificial Moon! That halo was not natural—it was an artificial moon!

Vegeta had no time to consider where it had come from. Thick fur had already begun to sprout from his body, and his frame gradually swelled into something enormous. As an elite warrior, he could retain his sanity after transforming. In other words, he would gain the upper hand once more!

At that thought, Vegeta burst into wild laughter and spread his arms to welcome the Great Ape Transformation!

In the distance—

Tien Shinhan's third eye rolled as his voice trembled. "Did he win?"

"I think so? Goku?" Krillin was uncertain as well.

Goku nodded. "Without using Kaio-ken, the two of them were about equal. But once my brother used Kaio-ken, he held a steady advantage. Vegeta has already lost."

Nappa, still being carried in someone's hand, stared blankly at the ruins, speechless. That former trash, Raditz, had actually beaten Vegeta senseless. Had the world gone mad?

Just as everyone prepared to approach, Vegeta's laughter reached every ear. A gigantic figure rose from below, towering like a mountain and utterly terrifying!

A Great Ape!

Raditz's face changed drastically. There would not be a full moon today, so how had Vegeta transformed into a Great Ape?

Before he could recover from his shock, Great Ape Vegeta's fist slammed into his face.

Despite his massive body, his speed had not diminished. His strength was so immense it was unbelievable. Raditz was sent flying by the blow, his nose exploding with pain as if a thousand needles had pierced it at once and fire had been poured into the wound.

Raditz crashed to the ground, trembling all over. His nose had been broken, dark red blood running down its contours and staining his lips with a bewitching crimson.

"Raditz, die!"

Vegeta roared and lunged before Raditz like lightning, raising his leg for a kick.

That single kick carried enough force to nearly stomp Raditz into paste. Countless rocks exploded from the ruins, while dirt and dust swept away like a sandstorm.

Raditz dodged the stomp, twisting and leaping as he fled into the distance, trying to widen the gap. But the Great Ape sprang up, its enormous body drawing an arc through the sky. Its shadow blocked Raditz's path ahead, and with a boom, it crashed down.

It was actually faster than Raditz.

Without a word, Great Ape Vegeta unleashed his most primal savagery without restraint. Blazing white beams spewed from his mouth while his fists and feet smashed and swept about with overwhelming force! If such brutal power continued to be vented, not only Raditz—even Earth would be unable to withstand it.

Even after using x3 Kaio-ken, Raditz was sent flying by a single punch from the Great Ape. Dragging a long trail of blood behind him, he hurtled back a hundred meters. Although he had avoided a fatal hit, he still suffered a tremendous impact. His blood-soaked body gave off a metallic stench as he slammed hard into the ground. Blood surged up in his chest, and he spat out a mouthful of bright red blood.

Even x3 Kaio-ken could not withstand it. He had not expected that blow to be so heavy, so powerful!

After fighting for so long, did Vegeta still have more than ten thousand power level left? If he had known, he would have put more force into that Kamehameha earlier!

Sure enough, Great Ape Saiyans were not easy to deal with, especially ones that retained their sanity.

If Vegeta had not been injured earlier, Raditz would not even have had a chance to survive. Even with Kaio-ken boosting his abilities, he could not confront Great Ape Vegeta head-on!

The storm scraped across Raditz's cheek like blades. He rubbed his chest with one hand, his fingers slowly curling into a fist.

Raditz rolled away and ducked beneath a pile of rocks. What followed was a massive energy blast from the Great Ape's mouth, exploding into a beautiful arc of light along the horizon.

"Raditz, today is your last day!"

The death-declaring shout accompanied the Great Ape's charge. It was like a mountain crushing down upon Raditz, its fist slamming into his body with a deafening explosion.

But this time, Raditz did not retreat. He held both hands before him as red Ki flames surged skyward from his body, blocking the Great Ape's fist!

He blocked it? Vegeta froze in disbelief for an instant.

"X5 Kaio-ken!" Blood from the corner of Raditz's mouth ran down to his Adam's apple. This technique placed an enormous burden on his body as well. But all he needed was that instant of Vegeta's carelessness. Seizing the opening, he rapidly closed in and rushed before Vegeta's eyes.

Shining Impact Wave!

There was no time to gather Ki in his hands. He fired immediately, blasting straight at Vegeta's eyes.

In that instant, Vegeta actually raised a hand before his eyes. The mighty shockwave only struck the back of his hand, exploding into a cloud of blood mist.

Blood slid down the Great Ape's furry hand and dripped onto the rocks littering the ground.

Raditz shuddered slightly.

"I'll kill you!" Enraged, Vegeta opened his mouth at Raditz. At this distance, the attack was almost guaranteed to hit.

He could not dodge!

Raditz erupted with the speed of x5 Kaio-ken, yet still felt the crushing pressure chasing close behind him. Light immediately engulfed him.

With no other choice, Raditz could only raise his arms to block and endure the energy blast head-on!

When the light faded, the red Ki flames around his body vanished as well. He spun through the air several times before twisting and landing on the ground. He panted violently, every joint aching. His timely defense had allowed him to escape disaster, but the burden on his body still left him in agony. His muscles could no longer exert their full strength.

"Hahaha, pretty clever. But your death is only a matter of time!" Vegeta laughed wildly.

Certain of victory, he strode toward Raditz.

"Whew... Do I have to become a Great Ape too? What if I lose my sanity..." Raditz gave a helpless, bitter smile, his brows drooping.

X5 Kaio-ken was his limit. If he had been in peak condition, he naturally would not have feared Vegeta, but he had already expended considerable energy. Moreover, a Great Ape's endurance was far greater than Kaio-ken's.

At this point, there was no way to win without transforming into a Great Ape. He could only gamble once.

His tail was still there. He had originally kept it for research purposes, but he had not expected it to come in handy. He looked up at the sky and searched for the moon, sure enough spotting an Artificial Moon.
