Fujimaru Ritsuka frowned and asked hesitantly.
"But that's impossible, isn't it? The previous Singularities were all..." Mash was somewhat dazed as well.
"This is the sixth node. Naturally, I am well aware of your journey through the previous five nodes." Ozymandias snorted, clearly displeased. "But—journeys are not all alike."
"It is like the difference between a pleasant drive and a grueling trek on foot. Even journeys through Singularities can differ as vastly as heaven and earth."
"No matter what the previous five were like, only upon entering my domain—this sixth one—did you face your true challenge."
"But you arrived too late."
"What exactly do you mean by too late? Please explain it to us, Sun King." After hesitating for a long while, Fujimaru Ritsuka finally gritted his teeth and asked, choosing to believe Ozymandias.
The Holy Grail was right before them. Its holder showed no desire to attack and wished to speak with them. This was an opportunity; if only to avoid becoming enemies, they should follow his lead for now.
"The Mage King's Holy Grail is not the Singularity itself. It is merely one of the conditions that created it."
Ozymandias rose to his feet and began to explain slowly.
"It is akin to a catalyst, drawing forth the Singularity's aberration and allowing this diseased branch to grow upon the great tree of human history, so that human history may be burned away."
"If the catalyst that caused the Singularity—the Holy Grail—is removed before the Singularity fully takes shape, then the Singularity will naturally vanish with the disappearance of its diseased root. That is undoubtedly how you repaired your previous five Singularities."
