Background / History
Ais first appears on the fifth floor of the Dungeon while pursuing Minotaurs that had escaped from the seventeenth floor alongside Bete Loga. She kills one Minotaur with a wind-coated thrust of the Sword of Despair, then saves Thor from another Minotaur’s strike. Her rapid assessment of the battlefield leaves her astonished that the poorly equipped rookie Bell had apparently defeated a Minotaur alone. 7
Afterward, Ais describes Thor as an unusual young man with a special aura. She had witnessed both his inexplicable horizontal movement and his ability to follow her Lv.5 speed with his gaze. 8 12
Seeing Bell’s sudden improvement under Thor’s guidance, Ais asks Thor to train her. Her request is driven by her desire to become stronger and break through her limits; Thor accepts, offering seven days of special training. 15 16
Thor seals Ais’s strength to Lv.1 for the training period. Rather than resisting the restriction, she accepts it as a new form of training and continues fighting with the instincts, swordsmanship, and discipline developed as a top-tier adventurer. 17 18
Ais formally applies to spend seven days training at the Thor Familia residence, with Finn approving the request and agreeing to manage Loki’s reaction. She is deeply grateful for Thor’s instruction but struggles to decide how to repay what she considers an overwhelmingly generous kindness. 25 26
During nighttime dream training, Thor takes the form of Ais’s father, Albert. Her childhood self immediately recognizes him as “Father,” and she enthusiastically learns the foundational stance and breathing rhythm of the Wind-Riding Sword Art. Though she cannot remember the dream clearly upon waking, its training becomes embedded in her body. 29 32 33
On the sixth floor, Ais instinctively performs Steel-Cutting Dash and discovers that her perception of wind has become much sharper. Later, after being injured by an anomalously powerful Man-eating Flower on the tenth floor, she asks Thor to restore her Lv.5 strength. He instead gives her a final lesson, demonstrating the highest realm of the Wind-Riding Sword Style by destroying the monster through supreme wind perception and control. 33 45 46 47
