Background / History

Hestia arrived in Li Yu's world through the Dungeon. Her presence and divine power caused the Dungeon to spawn monsters in abnormal numbers, triggering a stampede that pursued her. Shizuka Hiratsuka carried her through the Dungeon while clearing the pursuing monsters, bringing her to safety on the upper floors. 64

After realizing she was no longer in Orario, Hestia tested her power and discovered that she could use divine power in this world without being returned to Heaven. She also found that her connection to the Heavens had been cut off. 65

She immediately attempted to recruit Li Yu into her Familia, repeatedly pursuing him despite his refusal. Li Yu and Asuna eventually accepted membership on the condition that Li Yu would act as captain, Hestia would not issue orders recklessly, and she would use her connection to Hephaestus to secure equipment support. 66 78

Hestia granted Falna to Li Yu, Asuna, and their classmates, enabling the group to gain strength through monster combat. She later returned with them to Orario, registered the Hestia Familia using their school crest as its emblem, and helped establish its manor base. 77 79 85 86

As the Familia expanded, Hestia recruited local members. Bell Cranel was brought into the Familia and given a local Falna before he regained consciousness; Hestia later apologized for the underhanded method and formally welcomed him. Haruhime Sanjouno also joined the Familia after being removed from the Ishtar Familia. 124 125

Hestia publicly warned Orario's gods that Li Yu's world contained powerful God Slayers, hoping to deter them from provoking her otherworldly Familia members. 101 When Apollo targeted Li Yu during the Feast of the Gods, she shielded Li Yu and openly opposed Apollo. 139
