Background

Artemis is a Greek goddess associated with hunting and the moon. Her moon domain was inherited through the reassignment of divine offices after Zeus forced Selene and several older deities to retire; Artemis later inherited Selene's Moon Chariot as well. She is also Ares's paternal half-sister. 354 351

Though she normally observes the gods' covenant against using divine power in the Lower World, Artemis will break or exploit its limits when lives are at stake. She secretly healed Falan after his Wyvern flight left him ill, asking him not to reveal her use of divine power. 45

World's End Expedition

Artemis accepts Hermes's investigation quest concerning the abnormality at World's End. She leads her combat-oriented Familia toward the Ancient Altar, identifies the sealed threat as Antares, and orders the party to enter before the monster can evolve further. 41 47 48

As Black Scorpion Monsters overwhelm the expedition, Artemis fights through the horde toward Antares. Unable to stop its regeneration through ordinary attacks, she uses divine power on her arrows despite the covenant. Falan ultimately destroys Antares with the Gaia Spear, saving Artemis and the expedition. 49

Reunion with Falan

When Falan visits under his Alter Ego identity, Yan You, Artemis recognizes him immediately by his aura. They later spend a night together in Orario, where Artemis initiates their first kiss and reassures him that affection does not always require a reason. 56 57

Renewed Antares Investigation

After meeting Falan in the current course of events, Artemis forms a seven-member party to investigate the weakening Ancient Altar seal. She chooses a small force because the Black Scorpions adapt to the attacks used against them. 329 332

Artemis uses moonlight to open a temporary passage through the seal, leads the group through the altar, and remains behind with Falan to confront Antares. Their combined Dark Moon Arrow defeats the monster. 334 337 338

After Antares's defeat, Artemis travels with Falan to Rakia to visit Ares. When the possibility of multiple Corrupted Fairies emerges, she uses the Moon Chariot to return to Orario immediately and reports the threat to Uranus. 341 354 355
