Rice flew everywhere, and Ren Weiyong's zombie energy was constantly being consumed, but even so, his body remained standing still. This sight made Uncle Nine's eyelids twitch.
Seeing the rice on the ground turn from pure white to pitch black, Uncle Nine leaped up and landed beside the incense table that had been set up. He flicked his Peach Wood Sword, and a string of yellow talismans flew out, smashing towards Ren Weiyong.
"Boom~!"
The yellow talismans exploded into roaring fireballs as they approached, extinguishing instantly. Ren Weiyong leaped forward, directly in front of the incense table, and his stiff hands swept towards Uncle Nine.
Seeing this, Uncle Nine, though startled, remained calm. He ducked under the sweep, bit his middle finger, and smeared blood onto his Peach Wood Sword. He then held the sword and performed a ritual. On the altar, banners stood erect, exuding a powerful aura, and shot towards Ren Weiyong.
"Bang bang bang!"
The banners hit Ren Weiyong, and bursts of dense zombie energy exploded on his body before finally dissipating.
"This..."
Seeing that all his efforts had no effect on Ren Weiyong, Uncle Nine was shocked.
It wasn't that there was no effect at all; at the very least, a lot of Ren Weiyong's zombie energy had been broken.
But that was useless, as it barely affected his strength.
While Uncle Nine was still in shock, Ren Weiyong attacked again. He leaped rapidly towards Uncle Nine, and in the blink of an eye, the zombie was upon him again.
Seeing Ren Weiyong charging at him, Uncle Nine quickly dodged to the side.
While dodging, he took out a Bagua Mirror from his person and drew a Zombie-Suppressing Talisman on its surface with his Peach Wood Sword, shining it at Ren Weiyong.
Instantly, a red light rose from the entire Bagua Mirror and aimed at Ren Weiyong's head.
"Roar~!"
As the red light hit him, Ren Weiyong roared at the sky, and his zombie energy surged wildly, directly shattering the red light.
"Bang."
"Pfft!"
Just as the red light was shattered by the zombie energy, Ren Weiyong leaped again, instantly appearing beside Uncle Nine. He swept his hands horizontally, sending Uncle Nine flying.
Uncle Nine, hit by this heavy blow, spat blood on the spot.
"Bronze-Armored Zombie, no, at least a half-step Zombie King."
"I was careless. I didn't expect it to have such cultivation. This is really going to be difficult now."
Uncle Nine's mind raced as he scrambled up from the ground, rolling rapidly.
Just as he rolled out of his previous position, Ren Weiyong attacked again.
Fortunately, he dodged quickly enough, or he would have suffered greatly.
However, Uncle Nine knew that if this dragged on, he would eventually be finished by it.
"Roar."
Another roar, and Ren Weiyong closed in on Uncle Nine again, grabbing him by the neck and leaning in for a kiss.
At this critical moment, Four Eyes Daoist, his muscles bulging to an exaggerated degree, charged in and punched Ren Weiyong away.
Seizing the opportunity, Qiusheng quickly stepped forward and pulled Uncle Nine aside.
"Master, are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Go help your martial uncle. His God-Inviting Technique isn't well-practiced, and he's no match for a Bronze-Armored Zombie."
As soon as Uncle Nine finished speaking, Four Eyes Daoist was indeed sent flying by Ren Weiyong, landing right beside Uncle Nine.
The martial brothers exchanged a look, both feeling a bit awkward.
After all, with Qiusheng, their proud disciple, watching, they, the elders, had been beaten up by a zombie, which was quite embarrassing.
"Master, Martial Uncle, you two help me watch, I'll go fight him."
Seeing his master and martial uncle both beaten, Qiusheng immediately drew the Jingzhen Sword from his back. He converted all his internal mana into lightning attribute and channeled it into the sword before charging at Ren Weiyong.
"Clang~!"
"Sizzle!"
The sounds of metal clashing and lightning striking rang out simultaneously. As the Jingzhen Sword collided with Ren Weiyong's arms, both Qiusheng and Ren Weiyong staggered, retreating backward.
"God-Inviting Technique!"
Seeing that he was slightly weaker than Ren Weiyong in terms of strength, and his sword-wielding hand was starting to ache, Qiusheng, disregarding the consumption of his mana, unleashed the God-Inviting Technique.
"Hiss~! What's going on? Since when did Qiusheng achieve such profound mastery in the God-Inviting Technique?"
Looking at his disciple's performance, Uncle Nine gasped in disbelief.
He had never imagined that his disciple, after cultivating the Lightning Bolt Fist to a high level, would also be so proficient in the God-Inviting Technique. It was simply unbelievable.
"Bang!"
Under Uncle Nine's shocked gaze, Qiusheng's sword forced Ren Weiyong to retreat. He then followed up steadily, leaping into the air and bringing down a powerful downward slash that drove Ren Weiyong's feet deep into the ground.
But at this moment, a sudden change occurred. Ren Weiyong, with his feet stuck in the ground, suddenly sank down and disappeared.
Seeing the sudden turn of events, Qiusheng's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately steadied his breathing to stand on guard.
This zombie had been buried underground for years, absorbing endless subterranean yin energy, so it was only natural for it to have an innate affinity for the earth.
Especially when a zombie reached a certain level of cultivation, it was hardly surprising for it to display one or two earth-based supernatural abilities.
Take Ren Weiyong, for instance; his earth-tunneling technique was a supernatural ability he had comprehended naturally, and once mastered, it became terrifyingly proficient and extremely difficult to deal with.
But unfortunately for him, he had run into Qiusheng.
Qiusheng possessed an Earth Spirit Body; although it hadn't granted him any supernatural abilities, it made him incredibly sensitive to even the slightest movements beneath the ground.
Silently sensing the shifts beneath his feet, Qiusheng suddenly leaped into the air, thrusting the Jingzhen Sword downward with all his might.
"Clang!"
With a crisp ring, Qiusheng's sword struck the right palm that Ren Weiyong had extended.
"Boom!"
Forced out of hiding by the strike, Ren Weiyong's body suddenly erupted from beneath the earth.
Watching it leap out of the ground, a mocking smile appeared in Qiusheng's eyes.
"Is that it?"
"Trying to play a sneak attack from underground with him? It's truly laughable."
Yet, before the mockery in Qiusheng's heart could fade, he saw the direction Ren Weiyong was lunging toward, and his soul nearly left his body in terror.
It turned out that Ren Weiyong was actually lunging toward the main hall of the Public Mortuary; its target was no longer Qiusheng and the others, but Ren Tingting, who was inside the main hall!
